Ryujine Borus frowned at his captain, his jaw set. "Don't be preposterous, M'Lady. It's late, you're tired, and it is only going to get colder once the snow really starts falling. Allow me to walk you home." To Percival, he turned, forcing a smile. "The Seaside Tavern it is. You go on ahead. I'll meet you there sortly." 'K I be waiting for ya all there, we got a lot to discuss! (Umm, yeah)

Abyss Salome looks at chris and the remaining knights "Well I'am going to drop of Leo's present and head home and get some rest. You two don't drink to much, and Mi'lady you should get some rest also we got a big day coming up." he smiles and slowly walks away And where do you think you'll be heading after that? Hmm lord Salome? The holidays is a time where friends stay together, go and deliver the present and meet us at the tavern.

Borus managed a weak smile. He waited for Chris to step ahead of him and began the slow hike towards Lady Chris's house. He sighed deeply and looked up at the stars twinkling quietly. He couldn't help but smile. Despite it all, it was a beautiful night.
He kept a close watch on Chris as she walked. He didn't expect her to need him in the short distance from the dock to her house, but he wanted to be there just incase.
He shivered, quickened his pace, and turned his thoughts to the tavern, wishing to get there soon.

"Borus, I'm a little worried. Outside the battlefield... there's not all that much the Knights have in common. I'm afraid we're all drifting apart these days..." Chris said slowly as she stopped in front of the gate to her home. She turned to her escort.
"I'm even worried for you. You seem to be drifting the most. Is there something on your mind?"

Borus sighed heavily. Why did Chris have to be so damn perceptive? He turned to look back down the street to the distant harbor.
"We knights were brought together for our unified duty to our country and our love of combat. On the battlefield, it doesn't matter what our interests are. Knights are put together for their fighting compatibility, not their ability to live with each other." His voice weakened. He could barely say the last part. "We are not meant to be with each other outside of service."
He turned to Chris, a painted smile on his lips. Gently, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know I have been particularly distant lately." He smiled a little more. "I can't tell you why now, but I will some day. I promise."
He looked up at the sky. "Now, let's get you home."

Chris didn't answer for several moments, instead just watching Borus for some form of regret in his words. Finding none to her eyes, she sighed, and turned away, opening the gate to her home and walking forward. At one point, she wiped at her eyes, as if trying to fight back tears, when really she was trying to stop them. She'd had only the Knights of Zexens as friends since she was a little girl, and now... they were all drifting their seperate ways.
She didn't give Borus a chance to say anything, choking out a weak good night to him before opening the doors and slipping inside her mansion. The door closed behind her.

Borus watched her go, tears brimming in his own eyes. He coughed, choking back tears, and kept his gaze on Chris as she disappeared into the house.
"Oh, M'Lady..." He whispered, remorse filling his words, "If only I could tell you..."
He snarled at himself, bitterly fighting back tears. He let out a pitiful sound, somewhere between a yell and a sob, and slammed his fist against the gate, knocking some snow off the metal bars.
Straightening, he looked up at the house to the one window that was now lit. Scowling, he chided himself for his stupidity.
'You jerk, this is all your own fault. If you would just tell her...'
"I can't!" He yelled to the night air. Breathing hard, he looked around the deserted street.
"I can't..." He moaned, looking down at his feet.
With a long, heartrending sigh, he turned, putting the Lightfellow Residence out of view, and trudged through the thickening snow.
"Not today."

Borus trudged through the snow towards the tavern, his feet feeling like lead. He didn't look up once, knowing full well how to get to the tavern. Goodness knows he had been there enough as of late...
Sighing, he pushed open the tavern door, jangling a string of bells hanging from the handle. With bleary eyes, he looked around the hazy darkness of the tavern before spotting Pericval at the bar.
Plodding wearily over to his friend, he sat down with a thump and began to tap his fingers idly on the glossy surface of the bar.
"So, anything interesting happen yet?" He said in a voice that clearly showed he wasn't really interested in the least.

Nothing much... all I've been doing here is drinking and thinking about how I went from a country boy at Iskay to one of the Mighty Knights of Zexen. That, and I've been trying to puzzle out what up with you.
So, I feel that it is my duty, for I can't figure it out, as a fellow knight and a friend that has known you for quite sometime to ask...
What is wrong that you are keeping secret?
*softly* And also if you don't want to tell me, I won't be hurt, If you do tell me but want me to keep it from everyone else, I shall do so. I give my oath on that.
*Loudly* Barkeep! Something for my friend here!!!
*to Borus* While you're thinking I'll see if I can gleen any new information from the locals here.
*Gets up and moves around*
((Nice long post there))

(Thanks! I appreciate that. ^^)
Borus smiled weakly at his friend. "Thanks Percival. I appreciate it."
As Percival wandered about the bar, Borus played with his lip, pondering whether or not he should tell his friend. Percival was closer to him than anyone, and was incredibly honorable. However, what if Percival felt the same way? That would surely put a rift between them.
He sighed heavily, resolving to tell his friend. If he didn't spit it out now, he never would, and he wold eventually wither from keeping it in. Turning, he looked around to see where the other knight had gone.

(NP I just get the ideas and build on them, as well as the personalities)
*Walks back and sits down*
Nothing new and if they did say anything they'd be too drunk to tell me.
(A little comment here and that is remember in Chris's 1st chapter in S3 when Percival is saying "It seems like everyone here is after you Lady Chris, I envy you" and the 2nd choice "I don't mind if you take my place, Percival..." ^_^ (I Keep beating and replaying it soo....))
*Drinks deeply and sighs*
So, regardless of whether or not you are going to tell me, answer me this, Is it about your...um...family? *Hastily* Not that you care about them now, but I'm just trying to figure it out...

Borus's expression darkened and he gripped the hilt of his sword. He looked away, not being able to bear looking into the eyes of his friend.
"My family..." He paused, blinking back tears, "My family abandoned me long ago. I no longer look to them for aid." He managed a weak smile, "But on the bright side, I no longer have to put up with them."
He laughed an empty laugh and reached for his drink. After a long draught, he placed it on the counter again and flashed a false grin at Percival.
"Guess again."
