boconnotto The color/birthstone theme and the style themes seem to be the most accessible of the ideas so far.
Flowers would be cool for a larger group, perhaps, but they would be a bit of a problem I think for us--unless fake flowers were allowed. Lots of hobby shops have pretty expansive silk flower collections, but not all florists carry certain varieties of flowers without being asked for them ahead of time.
Also, that's a bit pricey in terms of extra cost. Flowers aren't really cheap unless you're buying carnations. It'd be nice to try and make the contest easy to participate in without buying extra materials every month. Maybe one of the spring or summer themes could revolve around flowers, though?

Since we moved recently my mum hasn't had time to plant the mass of flowers we had. It's expensive replacing two gardens >.< She had the prettiest Mutated Red bud tree..and the owners we rented from cut it down.

I work floral, so I always have to explain to customers "well, this flower is shipped to us at this time of year from Peru--so it's going to cost a bit more due to the prices of gas and airplane fuel [and 50thousand other reasons]". x_x;

elethien I think this is awesome! I'd totally submit pictures for this! But my photographer would want some sort of credit... How would we do that? Sorry I missed this, it would be easy to credit someone in a post and on the calender (name and website is all you really need). there's no profit to be made though.

Guilds have really been declining since they implemented the new gold system, it seems. No one really posts in any of my guilds anymore unless someone manages to prompt them to it.
I solmenly swear that when I get back to my house next week that I'll be a more active guild member. .:salute!:.
And that means I'll try and post in the subforums more often, too.

Cup o Spoilers i think lots of the members are new to lolita and wouldnt want to participat becaus they dont have anything to wear and they cant sew... just guessing.. sweatdrop This is why we're allowing art submissions. ;] But still, even if they can't participate (or feel they can't) they could at least throw in some input. I mean, even though I'm a mod here, doesn't mean I have lots of outfits. xD Heck, my mom throws out all of my headdresses I make, thinking they're sewing practice (even explaining it to her...she just doesn't grasp it).
