FrostBite didnt protest but while walking further she tried to not let him do all the work of getting over there. "You dont need to carry me you know- your as tired as I am." She had a look of worry, "besides, its not too far-- right?" She wasnt sure yet about how far was further into the cave.

Vaati smiled, continuing on further into the cave. Indeed it was getting warmer as they went deeper. "I'm fine, and see-? It's getting warmer already." The minerals in the walls reflected and sparkled around the cavern thanks to Vaati's glow. As he went on, slowly and easily so that he did not discomfort FrostBite, he began to see steam rising from the ground, which could be a very good or very bad thing.

"Are you sure?" FrostBite looked worried, but she was happy that it was getting warmer. She smiled as the walls sparkled from the reflection of Vaati's glow. Her eyes wandered to the ground, "er, is steam suppose to come from the ground...?" She had never seen something like this before- then again she hasnt seen a lot of things anyway.

"Positive. You're no trouble at all, really." He gave his ears a twitch so that the ends would brush against FrostBite's cheek and smiled as he walked through the steaming cavern. "Well, it's either an underground hot spring if our luck is good, or we're above some magma. I assume hot spring though, since the only known volcano is on the other side of the island."
And sure enough, as Vaati walked on, the cave widened and revealed a large hot spring, and on the other side an opening to the outside. It was quite a sight.

"Fine." She smiled. "Magma, eh? That would be very unforunate..." She gasped when she saw they hot spring. "Darn, I really wanted to see some magma!" She said laughing. She got off of Vaati and examined the water. "How is it heated like that?"

Vaati took a few steps forward, dipping a paw into the water to test its temperature. It was delightfully warm. "The core and mantle of the earth is made of nothing but molten magma, and in some places of the crust there are pockets that allow heat to escape further towards the surface. It's probably heating up the water down here." As he finished, he slowly slid another paw in, then the other two, and settled into the water with a content sigh. "This is nice~"

FrostBite paused, then laughed, "I have no idea what you just said...!" She dipped her paw in first as well then stepped back before diving in causing a splash. When she submerged to the surface of the water she smiled. "It is quite nice." She paddled around a little before stopping to just float and rest.
((But some how I do. O_o;; ))

[ ;DD Science is one of my favorite subjects. <3 ]
"Haha~" Vaati chuckled as she jumped into the steaming water. There weren't as many minerals wedged in the walls in their current chamber as in the passages, but it was still quite a sight. There were stalagmites and tites on the ceiling and ground, and water from the river above seeped through the ground in small quantities to feed the spring.
He dove under the water and turned on to his back, floating up to the water's surface. His eyes closed and he sighed, but soon opened one of them and gave FrostBite a little splash.

FrostBite laughed as he splashed her. Though he was pretty much entirely wet she still splashed him back. She paddled around a bit before stopping and asking questions like usual. "How long do you think it took those things to form?" She say pointing her paw up at the ceiling of the cave.
((In science I had just learned about eclipses so before I would have talked forever about them. 8D;; ))

Vaati looked up at the stalactites, wondering the same thing himself. Alas, he did not know, only that it must have been a very long time. This chamber had to have been developing into what it was as they were in it for years and years, long before either of them were born. "I really don't know... a very long time though, I'm sure." He lay on his back, floating in the warm water, allowing himself to relax and enjoy the oddly placed splendor.

FrostBite rested her chin on the water and drifted around for a moment. "I'm sure it didnt take very long if you compare it to the Universe's history." Frostbite didnt have a very good idea of how big the Universe was esspecially since it went on forever but she knew Earth was just another grain of sand on a beach and that went for time too. FrostBite pondered her thoughts as always.

Vaati was a little surprised at her having said that, since she didn't normally make comments like that, but smiled nonetheless. "Yeah- but nothing is very long compared to the universe's history."
He paddled over to the ledge and hopped up on it, shaking the water from his pelt and sending little droplets cascading about.

"So what happened to the berries?" She said jumping up realizing they might get hungry soon, or just her if he had eaten already. She followed him to the ledge and shook the water off as well. "Ya know... if it wasnt for the water I would be terrified right now." She peered down nito the waters depths.

"Oh, er.." Vaati felt rather awkward, since he had simply left his bounty of berries out the in open for any creature to wander up and feast upon. "Well, I don't think we should count on them still being there when we get back. But let's get out of here anyway." He turned his body towards the crevice in the wall where moonlight was pouring into the chamber from, cool air from the outside brushing up against them.

Frostbite smiled and nodded than followed him outside of the cave. It was nice and cool. FrostBite brushed her bangs out of her eyes, was it perhaps a sea breeze? She sniffed the air, she did smell salt some what. "Think theres a beach near by?" She looked at the ground, to see whether it was sand or average dirt, she hoped it was sand because she didnt know what a beach really felt like, she just knew the factors to it.
