Solar 2) I understand now, to someone who didn't play the Japanese games, the contraction for AMWS (Emms) is impossible to just "know"... So they picked the closest guess they had. Hmmm... well, that does make sense, but AnY does use "AMWS" in another scene, so I dunno. I wasn't paying very close attention to the dialogue when I watched it, so I can't really comment right now. *goes to listen to it again* [EDIT] Ah, I see what you're saying now. I think you're right, it does sound like she's saying AMWS, not MC (though it is a reasonable mistake for the subbers to make).

Solar Yeah... missed the second episode, but apparently Virgil lives and Andrew dies... What's with that? Gotta find a copy... Yeah I watched the raw today. I was confused about that (and several of the other changes). It seems that either the animators / editors are getting lazier or my computer is being wanky because on several occasions the characters lips start moving several seconds before they start speaking. I'm still not sure what to make of the anime, the changes could turn out to be good or they could easily ruin the whole thing. I've got links to all of the available torrents up in a topic on my site's BBS if anyone's still looking for them; link: http://shojokakumei.net/SKBBS/viewtopic.php?t=293

Subbed version of the second episode by AnimeYuki is now out. Anime-Kraze has just released their version of the first episode, from what I can tell their subs seem to be a bit more accurate and the translator appears to be more familiar with the game. The only glaring error that I can see is that AMWS was misspelled as AMES, but it's relatively minor.
As far as the second episode is concerned, now that I've seen one of the subbed versions a few things are starting to make some more sense. Apparently Ziggy and MOMO are already on board the Elsa (there was just one quick comment hinting at this, they haven't actually shown up yet). The 100-series that was on the Woglinde apparently "abandoned" Albedo -- I think she's really a Kirshwasser -- and he's come to take her back. As was mentioned before Cherenkov is dead (I think... He did get squished by a Gnosis) and Virgil is still alive, which seems like a particularly odd thing to change, but I'm intrigued to see where they're going with this one.
As for the animation quality, it's deffinatly getting poorer. The close-ups are usually beautiful, but anything even close to a full body shot (particularly with any sort of action involved, even as simple as walking) the characters are off model and also poorly animated (very choppy). I'm getting used to some of the 3D stuff, but still, it just looks like they weren't even trying to make the 3D blend nicely with the traditional animation. And on that note, does anyone get the feeling that they might have done the 2D animation with real cels as opposed to digitally? It just seems to have the same slightly washed out and fuzzy look that most older shows have, or maybe it's just the quality of the raws/fansubs that I'm watching, I dunno.

Yeah, I'm wondering if Andrew might come back. We certainly didn't see what happened... Virgil, well, that's just weird... Albedo is too. Some things are changed in cool ways though, like assembling all the U-TiC members that were on the Woglinde, that was interesting...

KOS-MOS vs Ziggy, well that was interesting. Even if they did cut out the part where chaos zaps a gnosis. xox And ep 4 looks like they're already bringing in the Durandal. The anime sure speeds through... ^^;;;;;

Well, it has to go pretty fast to fit the whole thing in - they only have 13 episodes to work with.
On the topic of the third episode though. I think the animation is starting to get a little better (or maybe I was just sleepier when I watched it). I was kind of glad that chaos made the connection between Shion and Jin (you'd think he would have said something - at least to himself - about that in the game, unless he did and I just missed it -.-). I think MOMO looks like she's about 5 yrs old though, the 100-series (really a Kirshwasser?) looks a lot older, even though they're suposed to look the same age wise. I kind of liked the fight scene between Ziggy and KOS-MOS, not particularly sure why but it was entertaining (and the animation was a bit better than it had been for previous action sequences). I can't wait for episode 4 though (Durandal=Jr! *fangirlish squeel*).

Solar Woah, I thought it was 26 eps. It's only 13? Wow... That's what I keep hearing. No one ever cites a source of the information, but since so many different parties are giving the same information I've been assuming it's true.

Ye Shall be as Gods Does anybody know where you can find Xenosaga: The Animation? And I don't know how to use the 'Bit-Torrent' thingie as well. Bittorrent is really the only available download method at the moment. I'd give direct links to things but I'm still a little weary over the ToS's stand on the issue. Search for Anime-Kraze on google, they're currently subbing the series and they also have a good tutorial on how to use Bittorrent.

Why is it that the Xeno anime is only thirtenn episodes (so I've heard) when Star Ocean EX is 26 episodes and it only covers half of Star Ocean: The Second Story plus Second Story is shorter game than Xenosaga

I've seen two eps of the xenosaga anime... and, they REALLY don't do the game justice.
I'm not keen on the art. It's done by the same person who did Escaflowne, yet, it looks older and ugly(Escaflowne didn't look ugly). Although I've heard the art picks up later on in the anime.
I'll probably keep watching it out of curiousity. >>;;
I don't like what they did to Virgil. The made him look like some kind of ignorant moron. While the game gave him depth and mystery.

Ugh, Here is my only problem with the Series...
They BELITTLE chaos! Like he is some extra or something, when he is the most interesting and powerful character!
But, Ill continue watching for the sake of hope.
