He knew his sister was too trusting when it came to someone referring to their parents. It was just something about him that Lophus found a bit off. "And I am Lophus Rahl." He responded in an attempt to make idle chatter. He knew it would be impossible for this one to harm them, but Lophus was never one to take chances. He placed a pleasant smile on his lips as he stood up straight and walked around the table to Calintz' side. With a well placed hand, Lophus patted Calintz on the back to ensure that everyone knew who was in control. The prospect of having the sorcerer's sand had many possibilities as his father had taught him, the art of magic he had called it on many occasions. "More trouble is on its way, Amara."

Amara flashed her brother a gentle smile as he introduced himself, her gaze flitting back and forth between Calintz and her brother, and ocassionally to Darken, who, instead of moving off to the side as ordered, remained directly behind Calintz. Amara knew that Darken was untrusting of others, and so let him be for the moment, deciding that if in any case, if something should happen, he would be right there to put an end to it. She gave Darken a reassuring yet soft smile as she shared a brief gaze with him. She appreciated his concern for their safety, and nothing she could say to him to express her sincere gratitude for all of the times he had been there to protect either she or her brother, or the both of them when they were together. Amara then clasped her hands before her, as her gaze rested upon her elder brother who had gone to stand at Calintz's side, and patted the man on the back. Such a gesture was not given often by her brother, and so, brought a kind smile to her lips. When her brother said more trouble was on its way, Amara's expression turned grave as she nodded solemnly. " Indeed," she spoke in a firm tone, her gaze shifting then to Calintz. " For the time being...I believe it best...if we give you quarters here in the palace, perhaps off in the guest wing, while we decide our next course of action," Amara informed Calintz, as she her gaze flickered to her brother to see if she had his agreement. " But for now, why don't you tell us any other information you might have for us," she offered, giving Calintz a brief but reassuring smile. She was all business now. Her mind already raced with a million thoughts that had to be put aside for the time being. The expression upon her face had softened before, but now was once again the mask of the Mother Confessor. Stepping around to the back of the long table, Amara seated herself at the head chair, the chair created specifically for the Mother Confessor only. Once she was seated, she fixed Calintz with a steady, unwavering glance. Her emerald green orbs had that steely look within them once again. " As I am sure you are well aware...Calintz, we are at war again, and thus far, this war has not been easy, I am sure you can now imagine the things we will be able to do, having such powerful weapons of the wizards among us once more," Amara paused as she glanced to her brother. " Brother, I am sure..you know full well the implications this situation implies, the Wizard's sand shall be left in your capable hands," Amara rose from her chair and came around the desk and placed herself at her brother's side, waiting to see if he had anything so say as well.

Calintz was still in front of them, though he now stood instead of kneeing. “Thank you, Mother Confessor.” He looked back at the D'Haran Officer, with the red leather jacket, who stood behind him. Then return his gaze back to the front. “Yes, I was also told to tell you that our services are yours. We the Baka Ban Mana pledge our lives to you and your brother. You both are the children of our savior, so we follow you both.” He paused as he was trying to remember everything. “Also, the reason I was sent inside of a few other Blade-Masters. Is because I have magic, a special form of magic. A magic called Doppelganger.” He trailed off to think and remembered is companion, and smiled. “The bird to mention earlier, yes he is a friend. His name is Shadow, a Night Owl.”

Darken immediately reached for his belt when he heard the man say he had magic. Realizing his knives were in his room, he reversed the motion, pulling the Agiel away from it's place around his neck and holding it at his side, fire running up his arm as he pulled it to his side, ready to bring it around against the Blade-Master if he so much as gave the Lord Rahl a look Darken didn't like.
He accepted the pain, embraced it, using it to sharpen his focus, and drive Amara from his thoughts, focusing completely on Calintz. The Blade-Masters were skilled fighters. If anything came, it would come fast.
And if it came, the man would be dead before the Lord Rahl even thought to use his Confessor's power on the man.

Amara held up her right hand to stop Darken from using the Agiel against Calintz. There was no need for blood to be spilt over the mention of magic. Amara knew Darken had a dislike of magic, and knew he was only doing his duty to protect her brother as he should. Amara made eye contact with Darken and gave him a stern yet reassuring glance. She knew even if she ordered him to stand down, he would undoubtedly ignore her, and await orders from her brother. Amara's stern emerald gaze returned to Calintz, her hand once more at her side. " Please, tell us more about this magic of yours,"Amara spoke in firm tone, laced with authority as she watched Calintz closely. She then paused, thinking in silence for a moment, before turning to her glancing over her shoulder at Lophus. " Have you ever heard of this magic before?,"she asked in curiousity.

His response was cool and collected. "That is quite a talent. I have read mention of it in a few books within the Keep." Though he knew Darken was ready to pounce on an already wounded prey, Lophus knew that his agiel would not be quick enough to get away from the power that he held at bay within him. Faster than thought as their mother always told them. It was time he also set some things straight. "My father has told us many stories of your people Calintz, but he always referred to them as the Baka Tau Mana tribe." For the most part he ignored what Amara had told him about the sorcerer's sands and continued on a path for truth as his father had taught him.

Amara silenced as her brother spoke, stepping back to lean against the front of the long table. All the while, she watched the three closest males. Her brother, Calintz, and Darken. Darken was prepared and ready to pounce at any time, and as was normal for her brother, he to had the power within him ever at the ready. Amara kept the core of her power calmed, but ever at the ready as well, though more than likely, her brother would be swifter than she. Amara had never heard of the magic called Doppleganger, and the mere fact that her brother had, surprised her slightly. Her emerald green optics watched her brother momentarily, and for the briefest moment she saw within his eyes the magic dancing within him, for it was written powerfully in his eyes. Amara shivered slightly as she stared into those eyes. There were times when her brother could seem truly frightening, but that did not make her love him less. She loved her brother dearly, they were family, and always would be. Amara's gaze drifted to Calintz, knowing what her brother had said about their father calling Calintz's tribe by the name of Baka Tau Mana, had been true. She nodded in silence at Calintz to confirm her brother's words. " While we appreciate that you and your people have devoted your lifes to us, you must remember that our father wished for you and your people to be free to choose to do as you will, you are not obligated to be our protects or servants,"Amara spoke in a firm but gentle tone. " Your lives are your own, rise up and life them with the freedom that is within your grasp,"Amara's words were stern, as she spoke, gazing solely into Calintz's eyes.

((Neither. It's Baka Tau Mana. For reference, Chapter 26, Soul of the Fire. The official site has a pretty complete appendix of people and places Here.)) Darken suddenly laughed when Amara spoke of Lord Richard Rahl wanting people to be free, acting as if that could deny the bonds of people bowing before the Lord Rahl. Lord Richard Rahl had been hopelessly naive in that regard, and it seems his daughter at least had followed him in that regard. He pulled himself back to an emotionless expression, suddenly thinking of how much of the young Rahl's life had been spent in Aydindril, where the idea of "the Midlands" was still given some credit in the Council that helped decide the law D'haran pressed into the countries pulled into the D'haran Empire in the last war with the Imperial Order. He realized how much of his own education had come from his training in D'hara, and suddenly realized how little his own rulers knew of their people, like their father before them.

Calintz looked back at the ever watchful guard, in the red jacket, and seen him holding a red rod. He then remembered Du Chaillu warning him of the weapon, but Calintz also had a defense for the weapon. He turned back to the brother and sister, ignoring the guard. “Yes, it is. The doppelganger was made as a weapon during the Great War, but then sealed away by the Great Barrier. The barrier is down now, forgotten magic are coming awake again, especially ones from the Great War.” He noticed he had gone a little off subject. “A Doppelganger has the ability to make clones of himself for a time, depending on how many clones. It’s a magic used for combat.” He sighed, then went on. “As for the our tribe’s name, your father was our savior and freed us, and after the war insisted we remain whose without masters. After a few years we decided to do as he said, he never knew.”
Calintz then turned to stare directly at Amara. “We know that, but we own a debt to your father. And this is how we chose to repay it.” He then knelt before her. “Please, this is what we want.”

Amara glanced to Darken when out of the blue, he laughed. The stern glance upon her facial features suddenly changed into confusion. She gazed into the big man's eyes, wondering what she had said had been so funny, since in all actuality, she had spoken quite seriously. " Was something I said...funny Darken?," Amara asked in a firm tone, as she felt her cheeks redden slightly as she watched him. Seemingly without a moments hesitation, the man snapped back into an emotionless state, leaving Amara confused, and slightly embarassed. She fell silent as she gazed around the room momentarily, then glancing back to Darken and then Calintz as he spoke. Amara listened intently to the man's words, allowing each one to seep into her mind. She was most interested to hear of the powers of the magic he had called " Doppleganger." Suddenly, when Calintz seemed to finish his explanation, she was surprised and slightly take aback when he knelt upon his knees before her. When he spoke, Amara gazed into his eyes as he remained before her upon his knees. A gentle expression overpowered her facial features as she suddenly smiled reassuringly at Calintz as she laid a hand upon his shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze. " Your lives are yours to do with what you wish, as I said, you are a free people, you may choose to do what so ever pleases you," Amara smiled reassuringly. She wished he had not said that they wished to serve them, more and more lately she felt as if she were no better than the new Imperial Order, but knew that she was nothing like those murderers, rapists, and theives. But her father's words rang true within her. One's life was their own, and it falls upon them to rise up to the challenges in their lives, and lead their own lives. She could not change Calintz's mind, nor the minds of his people.

The Agiel that hung from her wrist tapped her hip with a visually decieving gentleness as she shifted her weight to one side, tilting her head to take in the scene before her with blue eyes that flashed with insanity the slightest bit each time the thin red rod touched her. The insanity was mild, and easily guarded after years of practice, but ever present in a situation that was becoming tense as the moments drew on, the Lord Rahl and Darken Meiffert adding to that tenseness while the Mother Confessor opted to be open and friendly with the man before them. By all outward signs the Mord Sith appeared calm, perhaps even serene, maybe calculative and obviously amused by the small battle of wills that was being waged by the three surrounding the foreigner. All seemed fine with her.
That was until the blade-master made a sudden movement.
Before the man's knees touched the ground Nora flicked and spun her Agiel into her hand. It wasn't a move with malevolent intent yet, indeed she had heard his words before he dropped to his knees, and thus opted merely to close the few steps that were left between she and the Mother Confessor, which were only there to allow the woman to comfortably tend to business. The leather of her armored gloves creaked as she tightened her hold on the weapon. Soon realized that everything was still well in hand, but she did not leave Amara's side, nor did her grip on the red weapon slack, even as a natural smirk spread over her lips.
"Somehow, Mother Confessor, I think that IS what they wish, what they choose and what would please them. You're obviously not forcing anything on him." She took on a thoughtful stance, crossing her arms loosely and drawing her Agiel absently, still in her vice grip, down her jaw.

Amara fell silent as Nora closed the distance between them. She knew that Nora was determined to protect her, but the sudden action slightly startled Amara. After all, Calintz had merely dropped to his knees before her. Amara noted that Nora had flicked her Agiel into her hand, though, it was not out of malevolence. The leather of Nora's gloves creaked slightly as she tightened her hold on her weapon. Amara silently watched the woman momentarily as an all to natural smirk tainted the woman's lips. After Nora had spoken to her, she took on a sort of thoughtful stance, crossing her arms somewhat casually and loosely, absently moving her Agiel, in a vice like grip down her jaw line. Amara knew all to well the pain an Agiel inflicted when touched. Nora had a bit of a habit of using her Agiel on herself from time to time. Now was a time like any other. " I believe that in this case, you are correct, Nora,"Amara spoke in a firm tone before turning her attention to Calintz. Placing a firm hand upon his shoulder, she smiled reassuringly, the all to well known smile of the Mother Confessor. " Rise my child,"she spoke in a firm but gentle tone.
