"Uh, fine?"
Yeah, he sounded unsure of himself, but hey. He'd never been in a cafe before. Usually he either ate fast food or, you know...cooked. Yes, a male who could cook. What a surprise.
Still, he got out of the car, and then waited for her to lead the way inside. hopefully people wouldn't assume they were a couple or anything, getting breakfast together...he'd hate to embarrass her like that just by being there, after all.

If anything people might think that some grungy scavenger was taking advantage of a obviously more wealthy boy... which was the truth. Pez leapt out of the car and sauntered to the doors, tugging them open. They were seated at a booth with only a few uneasy looks from the staff.
Pez played with the menu, glancing over the choices. They had hit the jack-pot for breakfast. This place served all kinds of breakfast related foods. "Ah.. what's th' budget."
Just because she was taking advantage of a free breakfast didn't mean she'd tap the poor soul dry. She was a bit considerate, at least. Definitely when it came to money, she knew how it was to be lacking in that department.

"Ah, um...just order something? I'll be able to cover it..."
Yep, Kai was loaded, remember? I mean, beyond the money he was given to pay the rent, his bills, and buy food...he was still given a $500 allowance each month. Kai had money to spare.
He, too, began looking through the menu. Maybe some eggs and hash browns, or some french toast or waffles...

Pez gave a sigh and shrugged. When the waitress came she ordered the waffles with strawberries and blueberries as well as orange juice. She sat back and listened to Kai's order, closing her eye and wondering what to talk about.
Up to now the conversations were pretty cut and dry, save for the one that had taken place in the park. Just the barest amount of speaking to get proper communications past. She'd been stuck with him this long, she might as well get to know him a bit more. Even if they never met again.
"So..." She ruffled her own hair, further messing it up. "Uh... so why'd ya offer me breakfast?"
s**t.. not a really personal question, but it was all that came to mind.

"Because you seemed hungry? And because I owed you something for you letting me stay the night?"
He'd ended up ordering waffles too...a more kiddish chocolate chip waffles. Though he got orange juice too, just like Pez. He wondered why she was asking, though...most people just would have taken advantage and ignored him.

"Well... thanks." She leaned back in her seat as she waited for the food to come, idly toying with the salt and pepper shakers off to the side. The trouble was that Kai just didn't spurn any questions within her. He seemed like a plain guy...
But yet... there was still something interesting in even this. Since when did someone plain not have something unique about them anyway. She was pretty bread and butter, at least to herself, but there had to be something that interested other people about her. Aside from the damned eye patch.
"So... you live alone, eh?" She looked over at him, canting her head to the side. She realized that part of the trouble was that he just didn't talk either, maybe he was shy. "Ya shy or sum'thin? Ya don't talk much, ya know. Or is it ya jes don't got anything to say?" She stuck out her tongue slightly, one eye crinkling in a smile. "Guess I don' make it too easy, though. Always yappin'." She flapped her fingers up and down as a means to show this.
"Ah... so.. I'll shut up and you can.. say whatever ya want."

"I-I'm fine, really...I don't mind you talking."
Honestly, the narrator wasn't sure if Kai was quiet, or just shy. He was definitely shy either way, but he'd been told to keep quiet for so long most of his life that he just...did, unless he really needed something or a question was directed at him. Still, with the way he wasn't able to meet her eye, and his fidgeting, it was obvious that at least the shy part was true.
As for the live alone question, he didn't really reply to that. As much as he wanted to trust her, he wasn't sure that he could, and telling her that could just be inviting trouble.

Pez gave a small sigh, sinking down into her side of the booth as she watched Kai from across the table, idly picking at her lip in thought. "So... photography, huh."
Before she could say too much more the food came and she quickly sat up, shoulders straightening in anticipation. She reached for her fork and knife, looking up at Kai as though waiting for some sort of permission to start eating.

((Due to a long period of inactivity this RP has gotten a bit stale.. and it's become difficult to continue. It's probably gone on long enough as it is, so this RP is now CLOSED.
As for the dinner they are currently at... it probably went on in almost complete silence. Yay awkward people!))
