A guy I'd known for years who I'd only just become friends with came over to my place to meet my friends and loan me cds, and the bands he loaned to me were AFI and My Chemical Romance, both of which I began to like after that. Sing the Sorrow was the only of the two cds I ripped all of onto my media player, but I didn't really listen to it until this one day when I was somewhat depressed, simply because it seemed like good music to be depressed to. That's when I started to actually enjoy it...after awhile I began to listen to it more often, not just when I was depressed. And slowly I began to like more and more of the songs, until I reached the point where I just had to download some more. Admittedly I probably don't even know half of their songs, but I know that I really really love all that I do know, and some time I shall have to start buying their cds.

I was just watching tv when my sister came in and truned on the radio. She was fliping to a radio station when she told me "Remember when I told you about a band that plays this song that has nothing to do with its name?" I was like yeah and she finally got to the station "Well, here it is." And Girls not Gray was playing and after the song I was like "Their pretty good whats the bands name?" She didn't know but for some reason she thought it started with American. Oh well we found out later when we where watching fuse.

Everyones' first time seems to be something from STS...
I was actually with my friend a long time ago (she's always been an AFI fan. I don't know sometimes I think she was born loving AFI XD) and she said to me. (I remember this clearly because it made me laugh so hard)

"Look it's your theme song!" and I start listening to it and I start laughing and I say.
"Pssh, yeah I totally want to be a woman." and then she laughs at me and says.
"You sure look like one." and I give her big ol' rude hand gesture (because we're friends and all.) I ask her after a while (the song is still playing.)
"What's this song called?" and she says.
"Rolling Balls." then I laugh and say.
"Who wants to cut off their you know what just to bowl?" and she says.
"Obviously you since this is your theme song remember?" and I laugh and ask her who sings it and she starts ranting about AFI. Told me their new CD (at the time) was coming out, called Black Sails In the Sunset. So I started loving them from there... whee

I remember the first few times I saw 'Silver and Cold' on TV, I thought it was boring & didn't really like it all that much. Then I started to watch the whole video, and then the song grew on me. Plus, I was trying to understand exactly what was going on xp I think I'm the only demented person that has laughed watching that video

The first time I heard AFI was on a cd my friend burned for me of all kinds of different music. AFI wasn't actually on the cd. A song she downloaded had part of Wester in the begining. For a year or so I tried to figuer out what it was. Then I heard Girl's Not Grey, started buying all of the cds (except the 2nd one), and finally I heard Wester. It took long enough. Almost a year and a half.

I saw Girls Not Grey on Fuse and I was so glued to the video that I didn't check to see the name of the band. xp But then I saw it again and I made sure to read the band's name. After that I went and downloaded everything of there's I could find. I fell in love with the band and soon went out and bought STS. After I had listened to STS a million times I went and got the other CDs. The rest is history.
