I have seen some ugly gamer girls, but most of them are relatively cute. Looks are only skin deep anyways. I'd much rather go out with a gamer girl than some hot girl. Having similar interests=win.

For me where I live girls are just girl gamers. I don't think I ever heard of girl gamers being called ugly. But I have heard of boys being called nerds just for playing video games. But ever since DDR came out all those rumors that gamers are lazy slackers have kind of been removed.

I'm a girl gamer, and where iam from there are a select few of us who happen to be better then average looking. But just becasue a girl plays games doesn't mean she has to be ugly.

That's interesting, haha. I have NEVER heard of this stereotype. Maybe it's that I've never delved much into the gaming community. I read Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Del. That's my only connection to the community. I live in an area populated by rednecks and geriatrics. There's not much for gaming. Actually, we have no place to buy video games or movies (there IS a bad rental store). I have to go two hours out of my way to find a place with a small, typical store in a mall.
All the girl gamers I know are rather pretty or cute. (I can't say that for the guys, ironic?)

Groovin Magic It's not their fault, most of you are ugly. It's like...you don't exercise, you have no sense of fashion, you're white as the clouds on a sunny day, you have no class...same goes for the gamer guys. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it pisses me off when I see a girl who has the potential to be a beautiful girl but they just trash themselves and dress like they just got their clothes from the goodwill or somethin. If you don't like the stereotype then do something about it...stop being ugly. oh and your so obviously beutiful ¬_¬ just because we like playing games don't make us ugly! That is sooo Steriotypical most of us probably have style and are pretty, it's more important on the inside, your totally over obsessing on the outside!, so go home and get your head sorted out!

That is sooo Steriotypical most of us probably have style and are pretty, it's more important on the inside, your totally over obsessing on the outside!, so go home and get your head sorted out! SAID WITH HIGH SARCASM, WIT AND CYNICISM. Wow, HAHAHA. I AM pale, but hey... that's my HERITAGE. I had deathly pale hair when I was little (it darkened because I actually got less sun, making me seem a little less shockingly light), have blue eyes and pale skin, naturally. I'm mostly Scottish, German and French. Of course I'm going to be pale. So the lack of sun doesn't do anything. In fact I don't tan. I barely burn, but I burn before I tan. Seeing how it's healthy to get 25 minutes of sun a day for the wonderful vitamin D, I don't mind going into the sun, but I'm not going to OD on vitamin D and get cancer or have a stroke. Tan is not necessarily beautiful. Exercise isn't the key. People believe that exercising is the godsend to obesity. I'm skinny. I'm healthily so. Why? Because I eat right. I don't mean I eat expensive all natural food, I mean I eat when I am truly hungry. I always have something near me to drink, because half the time you're hungry, you're actually thirsty. What DO I eat when I really decide to get up? Cheese (I like the smelly blue, hahaha) and crackers. Why? A, I get protein. B, I get some of the vitamins I need (the flour in the crackers provides some more, seeing how a law was passed in the mid-1900s by the US gov't saying that flour must be encriched because so many people kept dying of pellagra and beriberi). C, It's not full of disgusting grease that so many people love, for a Darwinistic reason. I get ill from fast food because I eat a low grease diet. D, it's easy to eat and prepare. I have a better dinner, one prepared by my mum. I don't eat breakfast because I don't need that much food for what little I'm doing. If you wonder what I drink, I'm actually pretty picky. I drink a LOT of fizzy drinks. Not the mainstream sodas. This is actually when I DO go to health food stores and the all-favourite Trader Joe's. I drink fizzy fruit juice (sometimes I just get some regular juice at the store along with seltzer water). I DO drink SOME 'normal' soda, but that still hardly passes normal. Sarsparilla, ginger brew and root beer. Ginger and root (any kind of root, like sarsparilla or birch) sodas are the better sodas. They're the kind that don't go into metal and bathroom cleansers. My group of friends, some gamers, some computer geeks and some just use the computer a lot in general, are all fairly hot. I'm being blunt about this because they are. They all shop at great stores. I personally shop at H&M, Banana Republic and a LOT of higher end and expensive stores. I love suits. I don't wear suits when I'm gaming, because that's stupid. I wear nice t-shirts. I never shop in goodwill stores unless for cosplay and trust me, that's the easiest way to find some of that stuff. I vacation in Maine a lot, which is the only time I spend looking through goodwills. Why? The people are bloody rich. Which is where we stay, but hey. I'm not stupid. If I can get some Armani t-shirts, I'm getting them there. I don't need a new Armani that badly. (Granted, Armani is great). If you're familiar of Neil Gaiman, think of me as a female version of that. I own a FINE leather jacket that was on sale at Wilson's Leather, 60$. I wear all black because it's so much more simple and it doesn't look bad. The reason I don't attend to my fashion 24/7 like some twittering wanker is that it's bloody expensive. There are some people who can pull off the cheaply made and penny-worth clothing, and I have a friend who is marvellous at using Claire's jewelry but I think that's because Asians have a strange knack for using jewelry and maintaining both hotness and cuteness, but I cannot. I like to wear nice, but as I cannot afford what I want specifically, I wear what is nice and not too flashy. Actually, I prefer fashion to be subtle but nice-looking, sexy, hot (whatever it's going for). Fashion that makes you stare because it's so obvious is that person being morally-cheap. Trust me, I lived in that aura of humans for a while. Those who spent millions of dollars for fifty-million bags a year, because every bloody bag they buy was either cheaply made OR it worked with one article of clothing, therefore had to either live with a bag that didn't match the rest of their wardrobe or buy a bag just like the first. I have a bag from three bloody years ago. That bag still looks nice and works with everything. It's good-looking and not a bloody pencil case with a shoulder-strap. I can fit two books, an iPod, a DS Lite and miscellaneous objects like pencils (etc). It's not cumbersome or the size of a medium dog, like what I've seen floating around for the past year. It's not too feminine (I'm not a feminine person, I have two fashion moods - gay man or androgynous). Androgynous doesn't mean looking moldy and plain, it means that I look androgynous. I can LOOK very feminine and pretty and petite, but I hold myself like a man. I can't wear a dress because it doesn't look good, it's because I can't hold myself correctly in a dress (sitting yes, standing fail). As you mention how we go to goodwill, sloppily eat s**t and slowly meld into translucency, I'll continue to refrain from strokes, eat healthily (but moderately) and shop for new trousers every so often.

I tell you, most of the gamer girls I know are attractive too. And not only that, but all the hot guys from my high school play Super Smash Brothers too. So stop blabbering that stuff that gives the gamer community its sexist reputation. Besides, just to let you know, in Mexico, any girl that's "white as the clouds on a sunny day" is a hot, sexy girl. 3nodding SilverBellsAbove It's funny because I know an major-obsessive gamer guy. He's 6'3'' tall, and so thin you could slip him through a shower ring. He's so pale he could pass for Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII. His hair is sometimes dirty and he has kinda scruffy peach fuzz. And he thinks that women will throw themselves at him. Just one phrase: DO NOT WANT.That's what I call the bodily effects of having no ******** life. gonk

In India, it is better to be fair-skinned rather than darker. At the moment, in South and East Asia, it is the rage to be light-skinned. So, inadvertantly, we are 'in'. Therefore being fashionable. The only country I can really think of that wants people to be burned is America. By burned I mean 'sporting a tan'. I'm not sure what Europe's take on it is, but people like Italians, for instance, don't need a tan. (Their skin colour is what would seem like a tan.) EDIT: I was musing on how a pale guy doesn't seem very attractive and pulled out some research articles (psychology, what makes people attracted to others). People prefer men to be tanned more so than women. So gamer guys might not be as attractive (the ones where I live actually are not but that's more or less because of where I live and the type of people who live here).
