Thief 3 is defeat "Ohhh well just one bandit left" Zero walks to E8 "Hey you, that's my friend you are fighting with" Zero grabs the thief's head, then he stabs his katar on the thief (-1 in first roll for surprise attack with grab).
Edit: ((Oh yeah Critical!!! And it's x3 thanks to my item)) Zero's katar goes through the thief, he fells to the ground bleeding "So, who was the one with the map? I couldn't tell since I was seeing triple *hic* ."

Now we know that the item is inside a cave, but we have no idea what is besides the item. I know that you may be afraid so it would be better if you just went off.
