I'm in the middle of Moloka'i by Alan Brennert. Moloka'i is the name of one of the Hawaiian islands - it used to be a leper colony around 100 years ago.

The story is about a woman that contracts Hansen's disease (leprosy) as a child and is shipped off to the colony. Really good book so far!!

Just thought I'd pipe in again. Right now I'm reading "I Know This Much is True" by Wally Lamb.

Lamb is an incredible author. I'm only 6 chapters into this novel, but his writing style is completely engulfing. The book is about a man who's brother is a schizophrenic. Thus far, it's just about his life, but he goes back and forth from his own perspective as an adult, and as a child. The narrative between himself and those he interacts with is really amazing.

Well, I just finished reading Christina Dodd's "Thigh High". It's a suspense romance novel and she threw in a "WTF?!" twist at the ending. Now I have to wait impatiently for her next book to come out.

I'm just starting Deborah Cooke's "Kiss of Fire". This one is a paranormal romance, the type of book I generally read.

Last night I finally got a chance to start Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs It is the 3rd in the Mercy Thompson Novels. The first was Moon Called and the second was Blood Bound. I just loaned the first one to my best friend who hates to read but grudgingly agreed to try to read it. I have a sneaky suspicion she will love it.

Alrighty... I've just finished three books that are great reads for moms, especially if you love vampires! Although everyone else will probably love 'em too.

Because Your Vampire Said So
I'm the Vampire That's Why
Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire

by Michele Bardsley

They are about the lives of 3 of 11 single parents living in Broken Heart Oklahoma who get Turned into vampires. Its hard enough being a vampire but being a vampire with mortal children? Plus they all have great love stories in them too! So great!!!
