"You don't think so?" Takeko blinked, honestly a bit surprised. Sure, she enjoyed time together with Aspen like this, but at the same time, she was torn by the strange empty feeling she'd been fighting since her kids had left home. All of them.
She knew Aspen enjoyed their quiet times together like this too, however, and had figured he'd want to keep things like this. It showed that you could know someone...and they could still surprise you every once in a while.
Smiling, there was the slightest trace of a blush remaining on her cheeks. "Well, I can't say I'd mind..." she joked before giggling softly. "To be honest, I'd love to have more little ones around, even if they weren't necessarily 'our own,'" she nodded. She did have a knack for finding young ones to adopt...a knack she seemed to have passed on to her son.

Aspen smiled, "Well that's settled then..." He was happy about the idea of having more little ones. He did like being alone with Takeko, but that could happen anytime they fell asleep.
"So, next chance at adopting, you wanna?" He grinned and winked, he wasn't sure if she wanted to have more blodd children or how you adopted, but was sure Takeko would fin a way....she seemed to have a talent for it.

Smiling, Takeko nodded. "Yes, if the Guardians will bless us again. We'll just keep ourselves open to the idea and see what happens, shall we?" Practically glowing with happiness, the green angel clung to her mate's side as they continued on their way home. The mere thought of little Pae'il scurrying about the house again sent Takeko's heart soaring.
...and now for some strange reason, she wanted to bake cookies.

"Yes, we will wait and see. You never know." He smiled and then leaned down to kiss her head. He loved his mate and thought sharing the love with children made him feel a tiny bit happier. He continued on hhis way to the house.

"That's right. You never know," Takeko teased back, grinning. One could never tell what the Guardians had planned, so they'd have to be ready for anything.
As they neared their cozy home by the riverside, the angel turned to her mate again. "I do have a serious question for you, love." She paused dramatically, looking at him with eyes twinkling before she continued. "I'm making cookies. What kind would you like?"

Aspen looked at Takeko, ready for the serious question. "My, that is serious! I'm thinking chocolate chip!" Those were his favorite ever since he was a child with his parents. They family liked to make them together.

Takeko chuckled softly, nodding. "Chocolate chip it is then, darling." She kissed his cheek again, then skipped ahead, eager to get to baking. Their home was within sight now, but she slowed, hit by an odd feeling. Was something...off?

Aspen smiled and followed his dear, Takeko. "You sure are pretty when you walk away." He said with a chuckle. He saw her slow down and then joined her, "What is it?" He face looked serious and he waited to see what was up.

((*chuckles* So be it...it might be a bit far-fetched, but the Guardians work in strange ways, right? wink ))
Takeko glanced back, an odd bemused expression on her face. "Honey? Do you believe that the Guardians have a sense of humor? I think I do..." She turned back, walking up slowly to their front door and crouching at the step. By the time Aspen would join her, she already had the small Pae'il baby cradled in her arms.

Aspen frowned, "Huh?" He wasn't quite sure what she was talking about. He followed her up the stairs and his eyes widened at the sight of a pae baby in Takeko's arms. "Wow, they work fast." He chuckled and smiled down at the baby, "Well, hello there."

Takeko laughed softly, so as not to startle the baby. "You said it, love. I had no idea they were listening this closely." Smiling warmly, she turned from Aspen back to the little one. "Hello, darling. Now, where in Telrunya could you have come from?" Craddling the baby close to her heart, she took in the tiny halo and dual-toned feathery wings. An angel. She couldn't believe it. The Guardians had blessed her with a little angel...in all senses of the word.
The angel baby wasn't sure what to make of all of this just yet. He'd been happily sleeping in the waning sunlight and now he'd been woken up by two strange...big things. Though, the one that picked him up seemed nice enough. She was warm...and she smelled nice. He reached up, rubbing his eyes sleepily before curling up against her and trying to go back to sleep.

Aspen smiled down at the little darling. "He's so sweet." He looked at Takeko, "Looks like we need to get the nursery up and running again." He chuckled, not really beleiving it.

Takeko chuckled, nodding in agreement. "I had no idea we'd ever be using that room for that purpose again. Not this soon, especially." She grinned, cuddling the baby close. "Not that I'm complaining. He really is a little dear, isn't he?" The female angel was practically glowing with happiness and her maternal instincts were already kicked into high gear.
Cooing softly in baby language, the little angel squirmed a bit and curled closer to the big thing to hide his eyes from the light. He wanted to go back to sleep, darn it!

"Good idea, love," Takeko murmured softly, leaning up to kiss Aspen's cheek. "Let's get this poor dear inside quickly. We don't know how long he could have been out here on his own." Standing carefully, she cradled the drowsy child close, muttering gentle babytalk as she headed inside with her new, precious bundle. Thank the Guardians for their kindness...
