How would they feel?

That nuclear weapons are their defence against aggressors. And, sadly, I think the "aggressors" in their minds would be Britain or America.
It's unfortunate..Since they would have nothing to worry about if they didn't make nukes.

Conversely, you could say the same about us.

Neither side trusts the other, so both arm themselves. I don't know if we can trust Iran, but I also know that they don't know if they can trust us. Way the world works, sadly. I can't say I wasn't incredibly angry about the recent hostage situation.

They hate us..They hate that we are in Iraq...They hate that we are allies with Isreal..They would use nuclear weapons against us. The only way we would attack them is in self-defense or if thney have nukes.

If it would make the world a safer place I would be glad to die like that.

Would everyone else in your leafy little hamlet, whose lives you are so willing to cut short? I wonder. Besides, capturing Osama bin Laden probably wouldn't make the world a safer place now. He can't act from where he is, wherever that is, if he's even alive: it would be a victory for justice alone, or revenge.

I'm sure you're also familiar with this quote from Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

A victory is a victory.

I find it amazing that you use that quote to attack me, I really dont care, whe that quote could very well sit with the US and the UK just as well.

The death of millions of people to save money is NOT a victory.

I never said the death of millions of people is a victory, killing Bin Laden is even at the expense of all of those people.

(4) doesn't follow logically from your first three points. They might use nuclear weapons against us.

A victory is a victory.

A hollow victory if you throw your principles away.

The quote applies: you're willing to sacrifice thousands of lives, including your own, for the sake of "winning", or the illusion of safety. I value life over victory. And I don't think I've praised the UK lately.

Seriously, why? Is that justice or revenge?

And howcome you get to condemn these people to death anyway?

Its to late for revenge at this point so it would probably be for justice.

I'm not condemning anyone, my finger is in no way over that button.

I'm kind of confused as to how this relates directly to what we're talking about, then.

I agree, though. That has been a trend of both British and American governments in the wake of 9/11. Just look at the Patriot Act.

imo, Justice is best served by capturing Osama bin Laden and bringing him before an international and impartial court.

Dont get me started on the Patriot Act. I've gotten a big enough headache from this.

I'm pretty sure you wont find an impartial court anywhere.

Not a wholly impartial court, but somewhere like the International Court of Justice at The Hague. It would be better than holding the trial in Afghanistan or America, or just killing him as a knee-jerk reaction.
