May I suggest competitions? A certain type I have in mind; icons. Easy, simple, small to make. They won't take up heaps of space on modems or take too long to load on dial-up. It's my homepage, if you wanna see some of my icon-y work I'm known as {[ l'amour ]} there but there are a helluva lot better work to look at there. So yeah. Say we have a subforum for competitions, and in that subforum, topics for each competition running at the time. People can post their entries in the respective topics there, then at the end of a deadline, we edit the topic to have a poll so each person can vote for their favourite and voting can run from 1-3 days for people who don't get on Gaia everyday? We may not get a lot of entries at first but if we advertise the competitions in arty-type forums we may attract more people who are then encouraged to join if we make the competitions member-only-entries. And it would be cheap too!! Icons are small to make and can take anywhere from 5 minutes to three hours or even more time to make depending on how much time you're willing to spend on them. So, first place prize could be maybe 200/300 with second and third prizes decreasing by 50 from there. And we could also encourage entries to donate to the prize fund, or even make a small entry fee for competitors and then the winner could get the whole lot?
Please let me know what you think because I'm really confident about this idea.

I like both of you ideas...and I think it would be better if we kept this conversation in this forum and topic...so that if people actually read this stuff they won't have to be clicking back and forth to find out what we're talking about. :]

Nightway's got a point...I was thinking the same thing a while back.
So are we just going to get more subs for the guild then?

By subs do you mean subforums? If you do, then I don't actually think it's necessary for the time being. We have ten already, so if we need another one we can just use one of them, I personally don't think we need five villages since we're still so small. Not to mention, we should post more in the main forum. I left out a subforum for Chatterbox because our main page is so boring and empty with hardly anything stirring there. Other guilds have so many topics in the main forum and its exciting to look through the front page and have so many topics you can just go into straight away instead of going through subforums. And if we make the first page really awesome with different stuff going on, it'll invoke people to explore more and get involved.

I agree. I think that we should post a croll on here every week. The scrool will be some thing that you have to surch for. You could buyor borrow it. Youhave to post your avi at the end of the week showing that you got everythingon the list. That way we dont have to spend money, they get to have fun getting things and they have to post every time they got something on the list. We would have alot of posts and people would have fon. We could use the icon thing from night way assassin as the prize or as a twist to thewhole game. I think if we combind bothof our ideas we could get something really cool and fun. What do you thing of my new idea? Will you help night way assassin? Do you think that it would work my lord?

Yeah thats what I mean. For example, you had to click on the,"Guild rebuilding forum!!!for all members!!", to get in here right. Well you would be clicking into a village if the villages were up. And the forum that we are in now would be inside the village.
