Theodore giggled at the pup. "You can't just call them over. They have no ears!" He said, though he wasn't sure if they did or not. He figured not since they don't pay attention to anything at all except what they are doing. Perhaps they were blind too? He swished his tail back and forth.
"If you want to keep one maybe we should find a caterpillar, so you can watch it grow into a butterfly." He added thinking that's what turns into butterflies. Maybe it wasn't that. Maybe it was some other little crawly critter that turns into them. He gave himself a mental shrug and didn't even say he wasn't sure that those little things didn't turn into butterflies.

"Oh." Oops. But Terale could of sworn they had ear like things, or maybe those things weren't ears. Those things protruding from their head, Terale rubbed his paw against the fur on his head, feeling silly.
"A caterpillar!!" His mouth opened wide. "But.....but, that'll take forever. Won't it? Cause first it's that and then it's that thing it turns into, don't remember what it's called, and then it's the butterfly." His mouth was still wide.

Theodore nodded. "Good point. They can take forever to grow." He scratched his head for a second. "But then you could train it to scare others away, or to fetch you something?" He couldn't help but to laugh at that. Teaching a butterfly something? Like that would ever happen. They were useless creatures that shouldn't even be alive. At least with bees, they made yummy honey.
"But I guess catching one now won't have to wait as long. " He laughed and started hopping around to find one. "First, we have to find one on a flower." He said as he looked back at the pup. "Then we have to sneak up on it." He said as he went back to looking about for one. "Then... We pounce at it to try to catch it. But you must be careful not to squish it."

His eyes widened. Having the butterfly trained.....like a proper pet would be so awesome. "I have to catch a caterpillar sometime...." His mouth hung a bit open. "Flower, sneaking, and pounce. But no squishing. Okay I got it!" He nodded, grinning excitedly.
He took off, looking at every flower he passed. Then he saw it, it's blue wings batting. Terale froze before bounding over to it, his excitement took over him and he forgot about the next rule in catching a butterfly. He leaped in the air, his front paws stretched out and his grin huge with happiness. "Gotcha." The butterfly flew away.

He watched him hop off to find a butterfly. It was his first try, so Theodore just wanted to watch a second. It took a few moments before he found a butterfly. Then as quickly as that it was over and the butterfly had flown off. "Well, you can't expect to get one on the first try." He said with a smile to re-insure the other.
"I have troubles catching him and I've been doing it since I was small." He said with a nod and held up one of his paws.

"I guess not." He pouted at the ground, so unfair. He wanted one now, he didn't want to wait some more to try and find one. But he had to, it was the only way he'd be able to catch one in the end.
"Have you ever caught one Theo?" He asked, eagerly. If Theo was unable to ever catch one then his chances were going to get even slimer.

"Of course I have. "he said with encouragement. Only once, but he wasn't going to tell him that. It wouldn't give the kid much confidence if he did. "It'll just take a few times, and sooner or later you'll get one. When you least expect it!" though of course, you have to expect it alittle. He wiggled his tail about as he started to pick off random bits of gummy bears, still eating of course.

Duh. Of course Theo would of caught one, Terale should of never doubted him in the first place. Afterall Theo was big and probably strong and though he was nice, he did seem to know awfully a lot about butterfly catching.
Terale nodded, agreeing with Theo's words. His tail wagged and he grinned up at the older male, the encouragement was nice. Terale turned and bounded over to the flowers again. His eyes darted from left and right, in hopes of seeing another butterfly.
There it was. A yellow butterfly. Bursts of excitement flooded inside of Terale, his heart beated fast. He gulped and stopped. He crept slowly, his paws trying to make as little as noise as possible. He was so close, just a few inches more and his nose would be touching the butterfly!
A paw reached up, closer and closer. And then the butterfly seemed to notice him and began to fly off. "Oh no!!! You can't do this to me!" Terale cried out and his paw swatted at the butterfly. It made contact but the butterfly didn't falter, instead flying off completely. He pouted childishly.

"You were close that time!" He said as he had been watching. "Closer then I was my second try!" He said trying to make him feel better about himself. Of course, he didn't even remember when he first started, but probably was true. He smirked to himself.
"keep trying, you'll get one for sure before the day is at it's end!" He grabbed another gummy bear, this time red, and popped it in his mouth. He was such a pig sometimes, but these things were too good to just let sit there when he was hungry.

"Really?!?" Terale's eyes widened, his mouth widening into a grin. He plopped himself by the Gummy Bear bush, before a paw stretched towards a purple bear. Pulling it off the bush, he popped into his mouth. "Grape." He nodded happily. The butterfly catching was irritating after the attempts and then all the fails but at least Theo thought he was doing well.
"Yeah." He agreed with Theo, he sure would catch a butterfly before this day was over. Terale would make sure of it! The yellow and red pup ate some more gummy bears, these candies were really good! Red ones, green ones, even a little nibble off a pink one. "You gonna catch some soon, Theo?" Perhaps he could pick up tips to catch them even faster.

Theodore didn't know if he could catch one again, or at least today. He rubbed his chin and then looked to the young one. "Well, I will after a bit." He figured the little one might forget about it? But if he didn't he'd have to actually try to catch one. He gave himself a mental shrug. "You just work on your's for now." he said with a smile and plucking of another gummy bear and plopping it in his mouth.

Terale pouted, he really wanted to see Theo catch one. What if....but no Theo would never lie to him, right? But if he never actually caught one before.....Terale gulped, his chances of catching one were way too slim. Nah, Theo had to of caught one before, yeah he had to of. Terale shoved another gummy bear in his mouth, this time orange before racing off.
Green butterfly! Terale ran as fast as his paws could carry him. As he grew closer and closer he slowed down. He sucked in his breath and creeped up towards that butterfly. Slow and slow he walked, his paws stepping ever so lightly. This was the hardest he had ever tried before, he had to catch it. He just had to.
A paw reached out towards that butterfly. Almost and almost. There! And he clamped his paw around that butterfly. Terale shut his paw quickly, making it completely tight. Terale blinked and stared where the butterfly once was. He gasped and screamed, his paw waving in the air. "I did it! I finally did it!" Terale opened his paw slightly to see the butterfly.
It didn't seem to be moving in his paw. Terale's eyes widened and he opened his paw completely, the butterfly fluttering to the ground. What happened, as he stared at the crumpled wings of the butterfly. Terale stepped away slowly, gulping in guilt. Theo had warned him that the butterfly could get hurt if he caught too hard, Terale poked is paw at the butterfly, half expecting it to fly away. It didn't. "Theo!!!" Terale sobbed, staring at the now dead butterfly.

Theodore stood up and made his way towards the pup as he finally caught one. Well, he did a lot better then him. Then as soon as he caught it, tears started and he heard his name which made him come faster. He looked down at the growned and saw the dead butterfly. Well, he must have squished it on accident. "Oh... Don't worry, You just knocked it out." He lied. How could he tell the other that he had killed it. He didn't seem to be able to take it well.
"It'll start flying in a couple of hours. It's best if we put it on a gummy bear and leave it alone." He said talking as if he knew what he was talking about. Hopefully the little one would believe this fib. He smiled and patted him on the head and picked up the dead butterfly carefully. "See, It'll be fine in a while." He put it on a gummy bear gently and hoped it'd stay there long enough for the pup to walk away from the butterfly. "I think that's enough butterfly catching for today. "

"It's fine!?! Just knocked out?" Terale sighed with relief. "I'm so happy then, I thought I squished it by accident. I didn't want that..." Terale sighed again, his heart was still beating fast but it was good that the butterfly would be fine after a few hours of rest. He was happy that Theo knew what he was doing. Good thing he had met him!
Terale watched as Theo put in on the gummy bear. For some reason his stomach was doing weird twists and turns, just like it did when he was lying. Guilt would overide him that he would end up making a mistake and the lie would be revealed. But he wasn't lying, unless Theo was. Terale gulped, no Theo was right the butterfly would be fine.
But then, why did he feel so bad? Terale shook his head and attempted to stop his tears. He wiped at his face with his paw, feeling embarrassed at being caught crying. He couldn't help it though, he thought he had really hurt it. Enough butterfly catching? Terale agreed. "Yeah...." He wanted to get away, he was feeling too horrible.

Theodore didn't know what to do. He looked at the pup with shock. "Are you ok? Do you need some hot coco?" He couldn't handle little ones freaking out like this. Did he know some how that he was lying to him? Well, he couldn't tell him that it was dead. It'd be a lot worse.
"Maybe we should get you all bundled up and some Coco to make you feel better." He said with a smile. His cottage had some nice warm candy blankets and some nice hot coco mix and mini marshmallows. "It's what my human friend did for me when I was upset." He said with a nod and a smile.
