Gray was somewhat irrate, a side-effect of the stress he was under.
what!? Maybe SHE can-which would explain alot, but....I can't sense anything, at least right now! It's blocked...all I can hear is a sound like a thousand vioces yelling....!!
Gray thought in irritation, straining mentally but only picking up more of the "ghost whisper" of what might be the vioces of the LFO archetypes buried nearby.
Gray's frenzy for kayako's well-being peaked.
"SHUT UP, SLAGIT!"
Gray screamed at the whispers and cries floating in the air around him.
"I MEAN IT! ALL OF YOU!!"
Gray's vioce broke, the pilot dropping to his knees.
"...It's...useless..."
Damp steaks appeared down his face as he hung his head, lost; wet drops splashed on his hands. A sob enetered his vioce, resisting concealment.
"dangit..dangit, DANGIT--!!"
Gray screamed at the ground in helpless rage.
"WHY!? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!.."
Gray's vioce became hoarse from the screams, and he was forced to drop his tone.
"Kayako...please, be okay..."

"...please..."

(((! whee That was...nice Sho.... xd I'm sorry!! I'm trying to be serious I swear!! It's just....not really working....)))

"You should return now. I think your boyfriend's losing his mind out there!"

"What? Why would he be-HEY!! He's not my boyfriend!!!"

Closing the book and setting it back on the table, Kayako crossed her arms and shot a glare at her younger self. Apparently, it was indeed possible for someone to annoy themselves. Of course, there were much more important things to be worrying about at the moment. Even after the memory sequence, there were still alot of questions that the girl couldn't seem to make sense of. Regaining composure she turned to look at the black-haired version of herself, one question above the others.

"Anyways......Why did you show me that? I mean, it's nice to remember something from before, but I don't see what this has to do with what's going on right now. Did you bring me here to give me my memories back?"

"Well..." the other Kayako looked up, thinking for a moment. "See, that's the thing. Since your here, you could easily get your past memories back from that book. There's something else I want to give you too, but if you decide to take it that means your memories will have to wait."

After a quick pause, the younger version of Kayako walked a few steps away from the table where the book lay, and leaned herself against a bookshelf.

"It's probably not something you understand fully. I wouldn't either if I didn't have access to the scub's knowledge. Those voices you hear in your head, they're very scrambled, right? You can hear them, but they aren't clear like Senturi's voice is. And lately, even your connection to her is fading. There's a reason for that. The dna the scientists use to create false corallians all comes from one source; the second messenger-Eureka. There were three of you, right? That means they had to copy cells over and over to preform transfusions. After all that, it only makes sense that the cells would keep getting weaker. Anemone was made with the first copy, that's why she hasn't started weakening yet. But you were made with re-copied dna, so the cells were already only half as strong by the time the experiments were finished. Not to mention, that medication they gave their projects also ate away your bodies. If those cells aren't revived, there's a good chance soon your connection to your LFO will disappear entirely."

"Connection....So.....that's why the voices are scrambled? Because my body's....dying..?" It would've been hard to believe, except that it made perfect sense. Before she escaped the foundation, Kayako always hated the times when they'd stab those needles in her neck to 'help her concentrate'. It wasn't so bad at first, but every time they did it, it was more painful and took longer to recover from. Of course, it never entered the girl's mind that it was actually killing her. "What does that have to do with the memory though? What, you think I was gonna say no to whatever the gift was and just die?? Sorry, but that's not on the agenda!!"

The girl by the shelf laughed lightly and smiled at her.

"I know THAT. But trust me, you wouldn't have liked it much if I didn't show you that scene first. The cells breaking down wouldn't kill you, as long as you stay away from those drugs. Your body could make new cells, they'd just be weak like the others and wouldn't let you connect anymore. But without your connection, you wouldn't be able to pilot Senturi well. THAT is the point of all this! You saw what happened right before we got here, you said it yourself-you want to protect people. So, how are you supposed to do THAT if you can't operate an LFO anymore??"

Suddenly, Kayako felt stupid. Sure, she wasn't the scientific genius Tolly was or anything, but she should've been able to but that one together herself. "So what your saying is, you can revive those cells so I can keep fighting?"

"Not me. See, that's why the scub coral grabbed you like that. Since the dna came from a corallian, only the scubs can regenerate it fully. If your willing, the formation your in right now can fix the broken pieces easily enough. I just wanted to make sure you understood WHY you should do it. After all, those scientists already messed with your body alot. I wasn't sure if you'd exactly like the idea of just changing it more without promission. Now....are you ready to go?"

Kayako nodded. Her other self didn't even have to ask what her decision was, she already knew. Even if the two sides of the girl were separated by experiments, it was still the same person. And one should know, it's not easy to argue with yourself, especially when it all makes sense. "One last thing though-Why would the scubs help me?"

"That's easy. It's in gratitude, for understanding them and sharing your thoughts with them! So many people hate the scub corals, it's a wonderful feeling for them to find humans to interact with. Now, you better keep tabs on those friends of yours, especially that boy! I want them all alive and well when we finally go back to being one person again!"

"Right..." The purple haired girl took a step back and closed her eyes, feeling things around her fading as they did when she left her memory. As she stood there, a white flash of light and the sensation of heat engulfed her like a camera flash, intense at first and then slowly falling away. It felt like maybe thirty seconds passed before she started to become aware of her body again, but in truth, it was actually a much longer period. Unaware, cells were regenerated, pieces were put back in place. A red circle formed, no longer disconnected. And near the heart, a dark, blackish glow started to waver and break, a blue-violet one shimmering beneath trying tear it apart.

-------------------------------------------------------

At the far end of the fissure cavern where the girl had first disappeared, a soft, green light started to shine inside a certain section, lighting up the dark refuge that the boy was trapped in. It was the middle of the night by now, so the cave had gone almost completely dark.

In the center of the green glowing section, the coral had gone soft again, and showed an odd, ripple-like effect when the image of a human hand broke through, shining white at the center of the formation. After a moment the hand curved to one side, and slowly the image of a person could be seen, all glowing white as her body emerged from the scubs. When her feet touched the ground of the cave, the 'ribbons' of coral wrapped around her receded back into the wall, letting her support herself. The figure looked up, regaining consciousness and opening her eyes to see what was happening around her. And had the boy been close enough, he would have seen a perfect, unbroken circle of red around each pupil.

As soon as this happened, the girl's body stopped glowing. Kayako's eyes wandered over to Gray, contemplating if what her other self had said was true. By the look of him, he had indeed by very worried. As for herself, her clothes were ripped away in most places and her hair was frayed at the ends, but other than that she appeared normal, if not better. In attempts to reassure the boy of this, she tilted her head slightly and smiled at him.

"Are you ready to go back now? We've been down here a long time, they must be worried!"

(((GAH! Another long one...>> I swear I won't do this whole show-stealing thing again guys, promise! We can move on now I'm sure....Also. KAYAKO IS COVERED! I said 'most' of her clothes not 'all'...perverts....)))

Seeing Asuka at the door Tolly looked up. His hands had been moving quickly over the keyboard of a dummy terminal.

"What is it soldier?" he asked with a bit of humor.

He leaned back and looked out the window momentarily.

"I'm joking Asuka. What's going on? Have you heard from Kayako and Gray?"

Turning back to her he fought away thoughts of them being dead. He knew these kids were to tough to fall to anything Trigga could throw at them. Wastelands or not, the purple haired girl could never be taken down so easily.

He reached for the compact Reiku had left with him and ran a single finger over the amber glowing glass.

He then got up and walked towards the door but stoped as he rethought what he was going to say. He walked into the room and stayed behide asuka and nodded towards tolly then he spoke up. " I know this isent my responsibilty but im geting worryed about gray and Kayako they have been gone for way to long. And asuka I know your worried aout them to I saw it in your eyes."He walked next to her and looked past tolly out the window toward's the 'Ugly Bird'."

Looking at Reiku he nodded and motioned them both to come on in.

He watched as Asuka moved across the room and sat down at the desk.

"Um... Reiku. Maybe you should give us a few minutes."

He looked towards the door.

He nodded and walked out and headed towards the 'Ugly Bird' to see if any one need help. He stepped up into the air cleaner and helped fix a nonfunctional air scooper."

Around the ship things were very busy. A second work team had arrived and were unloading out of there jeep.

They went straight to work on the ship and continued to make changes to the systems to improve them.

Near the far wall an MAT model loader was carrying the large crates over to the ship for installation.

"Careful with that." one said and motioned towards a crate labeled "Explosive". The loader moved slowly. When it reached it's destination it was at the base of the ships main loading ramp.

"We'll move it in peice by peice." another worker said. They opened up the crate and started hauling large metal panels and bundles of thick wires up into the ship.

He helped inload the nonexplosive stuff and was then grabed to help put the big gun under the nose of the ship. " Becareful kid.. this gun is expensive and hard to make...." he nodded and welded it on."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:26 pm

With the Gun in place the workers raised a scaffold under it to support the weight. Meanwhile, two other mechanics moved into the interior area where Reiku was to link up the rotating parts. The gears fit together easily and they tightened down all the nuts and bolts.

Near the main controls hub to technicians began laying out the wires for the Compact Interferencer. The wires ran the length of the ship and hooked up to sensors all along the wings and outer hull.

These technicians wore long white coats and the label on there sleeves signified they were from the Tresor Facility.

"We should have the base wiring done in two days." one said over a radio. As many crews worked along side each other these radio's seemed to be a gaggle of voices. Each conversing on different parts of the job.

Unlike the Del Cielo facility things seemed to go much quieter in the hanger. There was no cussing. There didn't seem to be anyone standing around arguing. Every person seemed to know what they were doing and was fully absorbed by there work.

Except Quinn, who had decided to take a quick nap in his pilot's chair on the bridge. He had been up nearly two days straight, working through almost the entire time. Yet again, the intercom went off, beeping loudly. Quinn mistook it for an alarm clock and hit the switch. Loud French cursing could be heard now, but after assuming it was just a talk show of some kind, Quinn hit the switch again, shutting the frenzied Frenchwoman off.

She would get even with him at the evening meal.

He did as he was told he linked up the parts and followed the orders he was given even geting in a shouting match with the cook. After a hour it was him and the louders turn to put the secondary weapon system online. "Good your catching on kid next me you and two others will add the luncher catapolt." he nodded and went to the belly of the beast.

Gray blushed as kayako emerged from the wall in a state of near un-dress; while some of her clothes hwere still there, there was still enough expossed by the shreds to embarrass him to see; he wasn't seeing anything, but Gray's anti-social tendences caused him to be hyper-modest, not having any experiance in the matter, mixed with the consideration of his original personaly...all of which cuased Gray to look away out of respect for Kayako's privacy.
"K-kayako! Y..you're, um, alive....!!"
Frankly, Gray was fighting a urge to hug the girl, if only to assure himself the she really was there. But, not now-besides, he didn't want her to see he'd been crying...
thought, a sneaky suspition said that she most likely already knew...
Gray's vioce was a poor imitation of detatched, cold tough-guy attitude, but his worry was showing through like water through a strainer.
What was strange was that right before she appeared, his body had felt hot for a moment, uncomfortablely so-as if he was made of wax and placed too close to the fire.
But, that was of course, silly.
What was he doing, acting so frenziedly....
He couldn't....
Well, at least, he'd be foolish if he...
...That is, he...
Gray's lips moved, but now words came out; he still had his back to kayako, not wanting to cause her embarressment if a tattered article of clothing came loose or somethiing.
"....I...."
PostPosted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 10:26 pm

(((*munches a cookie* Hm? Do what now? xd )))

"Well of course I'm alive....if I was dead, doncha think I would've said something? ......Wait...."

Kayako paused for a minute and crossed her arms, pondering the mechanics of how one could go about informing someone they were dead. Unfortunately, it was hard for the girl to actually think seriously at the moment, since after all she'd been trapped inside the coral for an extended time now while it 'healed' her. In a sense, she still felt the way one feels when they wake up after sleeping a long time; meaning extreme focus was not on the radar.

What she could notice however, was the state of the nervous wreck of a boy trying not to look at her. This caused confusion, which led her eyes downward to see what the problem was.....

"GAAAH!!! STUPID CORAL!! Backpack-where did it go?? I didn't leave it on the ship did I...? AAAH!! I DID leave it on the ship!! It figures, the one day this happens is the day I forget my spare clothes..."

She paused again, kicking a rock on the cave floor out of frustration. Of course, she instantly regretted doing so as her shoes were missing and she ended up hurting her foot on it.

"Oww....this is not my day...or night..NIGHT??" Looking up, Kayako caught sight of the stars shining through from the mouth of the cave. "Wow....they must really be worried, it was only evening before....."

She turned and looked back at Gray, slightly calmer now though a little zoned out.

"Sorry!! Now I know why you were so upset, I must've been in there longer than I thought. I could swear it was only a few minutes....Does everyone know we're okay? We should probably head back now or they might all have panic attacks..."

(((Sorry Sho!! whee Kayako's such a mood-killer...)))

As he and the workers opened the catapult luncher baseen the guy looked at them all. "We are going to hook up the hydrolic's system, then when we get permission from Tolly we are going to launch the bird into the air and we're going to test everything. I need a volunteer for testing this." The workers looked at Reiku. "Me?? Yeah, I'm the only worker here who knows how to fly a LFO, but heck, I'll do it." A sigh of relief went through the two workers. The older man laughed. "I know how to fly a LFO, but I'm too old and it's time for the young gun's to fly, but thanks kid, all right. James, Joe, you two work on setting up the hydrolic links. Me and the kid will set up the main wire to launch and retract, then all of us will put up the big iron plat that comes up to block the heat from us launching and causing fires, okay?" They all nodded and went to work.
