I'm a regular at quite a few game stores, and as far as I know I've never gotten any kind of gender-bias reaction. For some reason I feel weird saying this since quite a few of you guys HAVE had that experience confused ... almost like I'm making you look bad in comparison sad .
Frankly, no one should have to put up with that. This guild's called "Gamer Chicks" for a reason, people. Gamers come from BOTH sides of the gene pool, and it's about time some people learned that... am I right? Or am I just mouthing off just for the heck of it xp ? Hehe... xd

Yeah your right ^_^ But i made this thread because i wondered if other girls had the same problem.

I avoid my video game store as much as possible. Guys hang out in there all day. The one time I went in there they all stared at me the whole time I was in there, like I was an alien. I buy all my games online now.

I've never had trouble with sales clerks and my gender. I always know what I want and pick it up right away. I've had a few time where they ask me "Do you need help?" I think I freak them out when I say no, just by the look on their faces.

I think the same. In my country (Brasil) the guys are a little chauvinistic so I do the same as you. I go to the store and take what I want without asking for any help.
But usually I buy my games in online stores so I don't have these problems. ^^

Meh, I haven't had anything too bad. The clerks usually just roll their eyes when I come in, and they did even more so when I bought Nintendogs sweatdrop I guess he was like thinking "I knew it."

I'm not really into those big, bloody, and violent ones. Heh. I DO like Soul Caliber, though, and it was nice seeing the shocked expression on the guy's face when I started sampling it, and kicked butt whee

Haha. I love that look. It makes me feel special. Though I mean, it is creepy when they just gawk at you. I am the rare "hardcore gamer girl" that the boys hardly ever see. I think they are afraid of girls that can really pwn at video games.

They probably think they loose their masculinity when they die and then corpse humped after by girls... haha blaugh .

I never have trouble in video game dtores, mainly because my dad is known in almost every videogame store in Puerto Rico. Still, every time IU can I help, and beat, every one I can involving videogame troubles. But sometimes guys get on my case because I like to blow up, kill and enjoy anything in videogames. If they have a problem, they can just shove it up their ***!

once i went to this video game store it was full of guys and everyone was looking at me even the store clerk!and 1 guy even asked me, "hey are you lost?this is a video game store!" the i told him "heck no!if you think only guys can play video games then you're wrong!" then he said "ok. ill challenge you to a game..tekken 4. if i win, girls wont be able to go to this video game store forever, but if you win, ill be ok with girls and video games." then i said "oh you're on. 1 game. all or nothing." he set out his best player who was paul, and i set out my best, christie. it was really easy everyone in the store was watching. i won! *yay me! 4laugh * he was pretty humiliated and i really showed him. hahaha!!! xd

I have no such trouble. I make a point to wear my geek gear whenever I go to a game store. When you're wearing a Zelda t-shirt and carrying around a handheld console of some sort (in an awesome case, of course) you generally get left alone. xD Either that or I drag my guy friends with me...

Hmm. I've never had any trouble with game stores but I usually look pretty butch, so... meh. Some customers look at me weird if I'm wearing anything other than my usual loose T-shirt and jeans, but the Gamestop clerks know me pretty well. (I also usually have some sort of bright dyed hair)

For me, I do all my game shopping at Wal-Mart and the electronics store at my local mall. Sometimes I buy offline Amazon and places like that.

I've never had something like that happen to me. Most sales people ignore me when I'm in a video game store. sweatdrop But I usually only see guys. There are some girls but they either are with their brother or they look uncomfortable. I find that very odd.

The worst thing that happened to me was that my sister's soda was open and it spilled onto the floor and made this huge mess! The store never knew it was us.

I keep on getting carded for buying mature games, even though I'm 17, just because my school ID doesnt have my age on it. The manager knows I'm 17 now though, so he doesnt really bother asking me my age anymore.
