The elder rushed forwards towards the voice being able to control his footing more then the pup could. He's hate himself for life if anything ever happed to her. He was supposed to be there to protect her.
"Where are you?"
His voice echoed threw the cave walls frantically. Then he heard it the thing he dreaded. Rocks collapsing and splashing below. He could only asume that she had fallen into the water. So with his old bones lept off the bank he stood and into the raging frigid waters below. He would find her, oh yes he would find her. And she would be alive and well when he did.
Around and around the water seamed to drag him under the chill didn't help much either but he would swim upstream to where he heard the splashing. With his head being pulled under he could only manage to blub out her name between splashes.

The cold water knocked all the breath out of the pup's lungs. The under current in the channel was dreadful, and every time Alina's head bobbed up above the water's surface she coughed.
"He...la....Cold," she shivered kicking desperatly to keep her head above the surface. Her small body nothing to the brutal force of the stream. Her side rammed into a rock, spinning the dark femme around in a terrifing circle.
Her paws scrambled under the water for something to hold onto, the sound of a splash down stream came through the water. Could it be more rocks? God she hoped not.
In mer moments the femme slammed into something kicking in the water as well. Her head dipped under the water once more before she could cry out again.

For two seconds the elder had thought he felt Alina slam into him, but when he managed to drag his head above the water he saw nothing but rapids swirling around him. He didn't even hear her screaming anymore. Only silence. Damn it His head seamed to echo in suppressed anger. Where could she be? His lips were begining to chatter and turn blue. He could only think that she had been sucked under the water.
With that he turned on his tail took a great big gulp of air and pushed the last of his energy and started to paddle under the water. To Black and dark under here! I can't see her even if I tried! But this was getting him tired and the current seamed to be carring him further and further away from the cave and out to a shallow waterfall beyond. The drop wasn't deadly- just more of a shock comming from pitch black to blinding light. As the water seamed to calm Patches managed to drag his elderly body out of the water. Now if he was carried this far the pup would be too; then again he was blinded when he was thrust out of the cave. So he didn't excatly know where to start looking. He just knew he had to rescue her. And without a moments hesitation jumped back into the frigid waters and continued to search further upstream.

Consiousness was being lost to the young gal as the darkness seemed inescapable. With the last ounce of air in her lungs, bubbles bursted from the creme maw in the dark waters. Then just as the air released from the pup, a bright light attacked the dark dialated eyes.
The sound of rushing water calmed and became a slight babbling as the pup's dark head bobbed up for air. Cold shivers coursed the matted fur and her side was starting to bruise. At first the small pup thought she was dead, but when you die there shouldn't have been so much pain. Or so it was to be believed.
The sound of water muffled birds chirping also killed the illusion of death. Breath in the lungs stung deeply as tired paws met the side of the river's bank. No longer could the rapids be heard and no longer was the call of her grandfather. Alina laid on the bank for a few moments tring to propell herself with will power just to move a closed eyelid open.

He kept swimming threw the water in dazed circles swearing he would find her. With his head bobing under the water half the time from his tired deliousions he wouldn't give up. With a half growl he hopped onto the bank and ran in the opposite direction that Alina was in. He assumed the current had carried her forwards with her size and that she was still in the water someplace.
"I will find you grandaughter..."
He growled threw his muffled lips at his own stupidity. Why did he lead them into such a dangerous cave. Then again if he knew humans were going to attack him the rest of his life why didn't he just leave the brown pup to fend for herself? He shook his head- because she needed him.
"ALINA!!!"
He threw his head back into a strange muffle of barking and howling. Prehaps something he had inherited from his ansestors on both sides. Then with his muffled confusion lept back into the water and kept padding around. Oh he would find her no matter what he would find her. And if something happened to her; he would never forgive himself.

The sounds died down from the close areana of Alina, she didn't hear the distant cries from her grandfather as the caramel eyes came open slowly. Twitching the black nose slowly began to move as the pup was coming out of an uncomfortable subconscious land.
The rocks pricked at her skin through the soft puppy coat and everything was not as it was suppose to be. Slowly the fogged mind recollected what had happened, the hunters, the cave, the waterfall, and the pain all was in realty; this the femme knew as her ribs ached to the right side.
Throat sore from the over abundance of water that had filled it, ached more as Alina whimpered involunteerly. Crawling like a new born pup, the young femme made her way from the water's edge and into the forest in the direction moving from the searching elder.
The pup promised herself to look for her adoptive grandfather, the only wolf she had in this world, as soon as she knew exactly where she was. Or atleast when her ribs would subside from the infuriating pain, running was defiantly out of the question for the rest of the day, she figured.
