Kaleb frowned and toyed with his chocolate. "I-it's not like any girl has said she liked me. I-I still don't think it's something you should worry about." He slouched a bit and unwrapped the second chocolate, sticking it in his mouth and talking around it. "I-I don't know how to act around girls anyway."

"Ya shouldn't have ta act around anyone. If ya have ta act then they don't really like ya for who ya are. They like tha act." He shrugged and reached over to steal another piece of chocolate.

"Th-that's not it, I-I get really nervous," he said, frowning up at Riley. "They can't like me being fidgety and scared." He had always figured girls would rather be with someone more confident, and that just made him more nervous. There was no way he could live up to the male stereotype.

"Ah ..... " Not like it was likely that Kaleb really knew much about relationships anyway then again neither did he. At least he had more of an excuse though.

Kaleb finished his chocolate and reached for another one, but then he hesitated and pulled his hand back. "I-I don't think I have time for a girlfriend anyway."

"Ya could always make time. I mean if ya weren't spendin all that time with me then ya could." Not that he'd like Kaleb doing that but if he wanted to then he really couldn't stop him.

"You sound like you want me to find a girlfriend." Kaleb said, sounding almost betrayed. "I-I really don't have time. When I'm with you, you let me work if I have to, a-and I don't know any girls I'd rather spend time with."

"I didn't say that!" His head snapped around as he looked at Kaleb. "Wait, i mean if you wanted ta i wouldn't stop ya but i like spendin time with ya..." He was just babbling now and so he snapped his mouth shut.

Kaleb smiled and blushed. "I-I'm glad, i-it's really nice to hear you say that." He wouldn't want to trade his partner's company for a girl, so he was relieved to know Riley didn't want that for him. Still, his babbling was a little unusual, and a little confusing.

He stuffed the kiss he'd stolen earlier in his mouth so that hopefully he wouldn't stay anything else stupid. He'd already dug himself a hole so the best bet was to get rid of the shovel.

Kaleb glanced over at Riley again. "A-are you okay?" he asked, now starting to get a little suspicious. He had no idea what was making his partner act so strange, and it never occurred to him that Riley might be jealous.

Kaleb started to look worried. "You were acting a little weird." At least the chocolate seemed to make Riley less angry, the stuff was good for calming down people. The mage gave in and reached for another kiss, although he wanted to save some for later they were just too good to refuse.

Kaleb blushed as something finally clicked, and then stared in surprise at his partner. "Y-you're jealous, aren't you? Y-you thought I was interested in a girl!"
