"GO!" The coaches - supervising the training grounds from all sides - yelled, blowing their starting whistles in unison.
Jean was rustling around quietly in the brush. Spotting someone nearby, he smiled and quietly crept up closely towards his target. He giggled inside, for his purpose was not for the kill. Hopefully, some... democracy... would be of much help to him.
He was close to his target - close enough to hear his target breathe. He raised his gun and pointed it at the back of his target's head. Instead of shooting, a few words escaped his mouth as he kept the gun stationary.
"Hey... Can we talk?" Jean whispered in the target's - Chris's - ear.

Chris became too scared to move. "What do you want to talk about," he asked nervously.

Jean set his gun down and turned to face Chris with a smile. "Relax... it's nothing major. Remember the rules? It never said we couldn't work together."
He laughed slightly as he continued. "I was thinking... that if you, me, Skiverdra, and Boltlock work together then we can have the tournament to ourselves. Then... we can just battle each other!"
With that note, Jean lifts the gun and shoots at a target behind Chris - successfully hitting another tournament participant.
"Heehee... he'll be okay. These bullets are tranquilizer type."

Skiverdra watched as an unsuspecting opponent passed by his hiding spot. He swung his scythe so that the opponent was hit in the solar plexus by the blade guard, knocking the student to the ground, semi-conscious. "This is an awesome plan." he said softly.

Chris started feeling a little more comfortable. "Sure, Jean," he said. "We can work together."
He takes his blade guarded sword and strikes an opponent, knocking them to the ground.
"Yes! I haven't lost my touch," he said excitedly. "I hope I didn't hit too hard though..."

"Let's go find the rest of the class." Jean said with a smirk. "It'll make things a lot easier." He pointed to a direction where he thought he heard Skiverdra and walked over there.
Meanwhile, in another location in the training grounds...
"P... please... don't hurt me...!" A student cried as he slowly backed away from a shadowy figure. The figure lifted his hand to show a ring made of an ebony stone. The ring shone brightly as a small beam appeared from it and hit the unfortunate student - immediately turning him into stone. The figure, always silent, melted back into the shadows.

Chris and the others wandered around the training grounds looking for the other students. Not watching where he was going, Schezo found himself running into what seemed to be a stone statue and falling backwards.
"OW!" he exclaimed. "Who left this statue right in the middle of the training grounds!?"
Chris examined the statue in depth.
Wait, he thought to himself. This statue looks very familiar. I better talk to the rest of the group about this.
As Chris blindly runs to find Jean, he runs into Boltlock, sending both of them to the ground.
"I am so sorry, Boltlock," Chris said, embarrassed. "I was trying to find Jean and I guess I wasn't looking where I was going. Will you help me find him?"

Skiverdra made his move, knocking another student out with a swing from his scythe. "I'm not gonna lose this competition." he said quietly, "I have to knock everyone out."

"Skiverdra..." Jean said from above the trees. "Relax... I'm not here to attack. Have you seen Chris around? I've been trying to find him since we're working together. By the way... would you like to join us - at least... until we're the only people capable of fighting?"

Boltlock looks cool, despite the sudden event of running into Chris at such a time. "I'm not much into the idea of helping other people who I should be competing against, however I don't see how it could hurt, with the odds all against us. Follow, I know where to find Jean." The two walk through a thick bush and disappear silently.

Jean and Skiverdra appear in Chris and Boltlock's field of vision. Both didn't seem to be in any danger. A mysterious aura could be felt in the air though as Chris and Boltlock approached.

"Alright." Jean replied. He knew that it would be easier to beat everyone else when working together. Then his classmates can enjoy themselves as they battled alone.
"Speak of the devil..." Jean said to Skiverdra as he pointed a few yards ahead of them. Chris and Boltlock were approaching.
"Hey! Nice to see you guys!"
