05 December 2004A small enevelope arrived that day, inside was a short note. Marl had called everyone out as he read the contents. Huni Hey everyone, I'm really sorry I disappeared like that. It will never happen again, I promise. I can't really tell you all why I left, but I will be coming back soon. Very soon. I love you all, yes even you Malady. The reactions differed, slightly but the general response was a positive one. Khun Ying was ecstatic, mother was coming home soon! She was giddy and excited and couldn't wait to have her mother back.

((What was going on with Huni during her 'absence')) Date: 03 December 2004
The red head had been summoned abruptly from her home days, even weeks ago. It was hard on her, having to leave without even goodbye to her dear children. Thankfully she was given enough time to write a short note for everyone.
Still, as she stared up at the orange haired woman in front of her, the timing couldn't have been better.
"There was an imbalance in you." The other woman told her, "And frankly it was beginning to affect me. And when things begin to affect me-"
"Warse gets worried, I know, I know." Huni nodded.
"Ironic that it should be the other way around," she chuckled, "I am his miko after all, I serve him."
"Addy, what was that darkness you entrapped in that crystal?" Huni asked.
"Intangible essences. I suspect Malady has been 'doing' things while you slept." Addy shook her head. "You really have to find that creature's source."
"Don't you think I know that?!" Huni exclaimed, "Unlike you I have other obligations that I have to fulfill."
"Hmm, stressed out as usual. I guess you're not as stable as I thought you are..."
"Oh shut it." Huni grumbled. "You're one to talk, I am just your alter ego."
The orange haired woman chuckled, "True, but unlike you, I was willing to welcome another into my life."
"What do you call my children!?"
"Children. And that's all they are. I speak of something more intimate."
"I don't need this, especially not from you. You implanted that ideology in me in the first place. If there's nothing else that you have to extract, I'll be returning to gaia."
"Fine, fine, you know the way back." Addy shrugged.

Huni Pi The red head walked down the streets of Durem back towards the Antique shop. It had taken a while for her to be able to save up for a necklace, and given how much Huni loved to spend it was amazing she managed to scrimp that long.Accompanying Huni was a small panda bear with a flower in her hair. Khun Ying had been curious about the shop her 'mother' told her about and wanted to see the pretty things for herself. emme The Through the Looking Glass shop doors were wide open, letting sunlight and the slight cool breeze. The shop got darker the deeper within you went, but there was a large desk lamp sitting upon one of the counters. An elvish woman appearing to be in her early twenties was sitting at the lit counter, flipping through papperwork. Huni Pi Instinctively, Huni picked up the panda into her arms as they went in. It wasn't that she didn't trust Khun Ying, she had just gotten used to having the velveteen whenever she felt nervous. Aurora wasn't anywhere to be seen, the red head hoped to ask the teen if she could purchase one of the necklaces that caught her fancy from her first time at the shop.
Once she saw the elvish woman, Huni hesitantly approached her.
"Excuse me," she began.Khun eyed at all the antiques with curious amazement. The shop itself felt comfortable and safe, if not reminiscent of The Velveteen Toychest she had come from. emme Emme looked up as the woman entered the shop. Ah! A welcome distraction. She closed her book with a thump, straightened her glasses and stood up. "Yes, can I help you?" She replied to the woman's inquiry, giving her a reassuring smile. She had a feeling that the redhead had been expecing someone else to be behind the counter. "I'm Emme." She said after a moment. "I know where most everything is, so just let me know what I can do for you." Huni Pi "I'm Huni, pleased to meet you, Emme." she smiled sheepishly, "Um, I had talked to Aurora about purchasing a necklace and I've only been able to acquire the neccessary fee just recently." she explained as she adjusted her hold on Khun Ying. The panda had been so much lighter when she was a plush but she loved the velveteen nevertheless.Khun Ying gripped onto her 'mother' for support before resting against Huni. emme "Ah! sure!" Emme exclaimed. "We've got layaways in the store room. Let me see what I can find. Just a sec." Emme went into the back room and looked through a couple of boxes with lables. Finally she found the name "Huni" in Aurora's writing on a lable attatched to a heavy gold necklace with three blue stones and one large green stone in the middle. She brought it to the front counter, admiring the large gleaming stones herself as she walked. Huni Pi Jade eyes widened at the necklace, it was exquisite. With one hand she held Khun, with the other she dug into her pocket for the payment.
"Khun, luv, could you get the necklace for me?" she asked, fingers fishing around her pinstripe pants pocket.Khun nodded and reached out as far as she could without falling over. Her padded paws careful not to scratch the necklace's surface or the gems. Xannyia Sarria entered the shop, hoping to meet up with another Simu or two and smiled when she saw the other two in the shop and was that a Panda Bear?! "Hello Miss Emme!" She greeted the woman she recongized and gave her a friendly wave. Next she gave the one she didn't know a second smile, "And hello miss, is that your bear? She's certainly cute!" She also wondered if this meant Emme's little Simu was also in the shop. Figuring since he was little and all, or so she thought, he would be near Emme. "Is Ray here?" emme Emme giggled as the panda gently took the necklace. "Hold tight, it's heavy." She said, supporting most the weight until the little creature had a good hold of it. "You've heard the stories about some of our antiques, haven't you?" Emme asked Huni before taking payment. *** Ray sulked upstairs. He really wasn't ready to see anyone. He felt like an entirely different person. And he was still getting used to his scratchy voice... though he still prefered not to talk at all. He would have stayed home, but Raven was there resting up from his trip to Gaia. Ray just prefered to not be in the house alone with him... though why exactly, was still beyond him. Huni Pi Khun nodded and brought the necklace close to her body, intending to protect it with her life."I beg your pardon?" Huni blinked as she tilted her head to the side in confusion. "What sort of stories?" she asked, finally managing to dig out the money. She tried to recall her conversation with Aurora but didn't remember the teen mentioning anything out of the ordinary. emme "Sarria!" Emme greeted, "It's so good to see you again!" She nodded and glanced back at the stairs. "He's upstairs sulking, but he could probably use some outside human contact." Emme returned her attention to Huni, shaking her head a bit at the answer she'd recieved. "Well, just so you know, our antiques can be a big responsibility." Emme paused for a moment, and continued. "Just take good care of it, as I'm sure you will." Emme felt confident that the necklace had found a good home... they always did, some how... Huni Pi Khun tried her best to unclasp the necklace so she could put it around Huni's neck, but she needed thumbs for that task. The panda blinked then waved at the other girl who just went upstairs.Completely missing the point, Huni only smiled and nodded. Responsibility, eh? Marl would be around to help her, thankfully. Although the red head wasn't sure how much of a responsibility a necklace would be.
"I'll take good care of it, you can count on that." she nodded, then noticed Khun trying to unclasp the necklace. She chuckled and left the money on the table before excusing herself from the shop.

I have a new brother, but he's not here right now. Mother says he came from the necklace she bought a few days ago. I believe her, after all, Straw came from a bowl of ice cream and Vael came from a Hat. I miss them... but mother doesn't seem to remember them. I don't know why, but she remembers me and Marl...
Well, when mother and my new brother Sim went shopping, they came back with some pretty cloth and things. My brother is so colorful, but we haven't really played together yet. Maybe when he comes back we can bake together! That would be nice. I only hope Malady doesn't do anything bad in the meantime...

30 April
Things have been really wild around the house. Mother recently got a call from some woman that my brother Sim is lost at sea! Mother had to go to that antique store (the one we had gone to where we got Sim's necklace) to see what she can do to save him. Right now Marl is taking care of things and I've been helping him. I hope nothing too bad has happened to Sim and that he's alright...
I'm so scared that he's hurt... like Jare... we haven't had word from him in ages...

21 May 2005 Huni had left the antique shop and ran straight home to make a checklist for what she needed. Clean clothes, a first aid kit, the S-Tones and food were written on the list. She tapped her chin thoughtfully, glancing to see if Marl was nearby.
The medusa slithered by, talking softly to Khun Ying when he sensed Huni looking for him. "Yes?" he purred, draping an arm over Huni's shoulders. "Is there anything we may assist you with?"
Huni read the tentative supply list to Marl and Khun Ying, "I need inputs, what else do you think I should bring for Sim when we find him?" she asked, trying to keep the panic from her voice.
Khun Ying sniffed at the list, and tried her best to phantomime the fashion magazines she had seen in her brother's room. She opened and closed her paws in the fashion of a book, then nudged at Huni's clothing until her mother understood.
"You could also benefit from bringing a knife to defend yourself and some rope." Marl suggested.
Huni nodded as she listed their suggestions, "Okie, I'm going to look for these and pack them up. Wish me luck as we'll be leaving tomorrow to look for Sim and the others."
"Be careful, Huni." Marl warned, hugging the red head as if trying to protect her.
Khun Ying nuzzled at her mother's hands, asking to be hugged by the woman before he left to rescue her brother. She wanted to come, but she didn't know what she could do to be of help. She decided that she'd have food ready for when they arrived! Yes, that was a good idea! She'd sniff around the cookbooks for a dish her brother and mother would both like.

04 August 2005 It was near midnight and everyone had was sound asleep. Marl had tucked Khun in for the night and slithered off to his room that was right beside Huni's empty one. Everyone slept peacefully, until the front door opened and in came a figure.
It was Huni!
Or was it?
Silently she went into her room, gently taking out a small blue orb from her pants pocket and laid it on a spare pillow. She yawned widely and settled in her bed, deciding that come the morning she'd explain to Marl and Khun just what was going on and what this orb was all about.

05 August 2005 Huni had opened the journal and was just finishing her recent entry when she heard a gasp. She looked up to find it was Marl holding Khun Ying in his arms.
"Hiya." Huni greeted, getting up from the bed.
"Are you really, Huni?" Marl asked, a little wary of the red head.
Khun Ying squirmed in the medusa's grip, sniffing the air and identifying the woman to be Huni. And yet, it didn't smell like her exactly.
"I owe you all an explanation. I am Huni, well technically I'm another Huni, but I'm still her. You see, I or she had a dream while on the boat, one that left her with another responsibility. Addy had sensed this and somehow created another version of Huni to handle things while I or the other me was away. I am still Huni, I remember everything that has happened, and I'll be here until I er, she comes back."
It didn't quite make sense, and more questions were asked, but in the end, it was established that this Huni is a real Huni, and once the original returned they would merge and share memories. Though no one knows how long it will be until Sim and Huni came back.

A Shopping Date Gone Wrong Growth Quest Part OneIt all began easily enough, Huni had assigned Sim to watch over Khun Ying for a while. They were to go shopping together to bond with each other. Sim was ecstatic, shopping was enough reason for the Simu to be happy. Khun Ying, too, was delighted to be spending some time with her younger brother. Little did they know that the doorway they walked into would lead them elsewhere...The Task -The heat was disgusting... the way it beat upon your poor bodies.. the humidity even worse. The sight of civilization had to have been a lovely sight.. but oh how dissapointing it must have been when those doors slammed shut around you, and that large monster of a beast chuckled about his capturing skills. Thankfully the door home resides within his temple. Unfortunately he's not keen on letting you go so easily.. There is one condition though. Your task. A wonderful 4 course dinner (appitizer, main course, side dish, and dessert) prepared for the man and a beautiful song to accompany (words can be sung by Khun's partner, but she must create the melody). A few important rules: The man WILLNOT eat meat of any sort, however he has a large kitchen full of good things. Fruits, vegetables, and starches (rice, flour) are good but you have to make everything from scratch (for instance if you wanted him to have bread with his maincourse you'd actually have to MAKE the bread). Every ingredient you use must end up in the songs you sing him during his meal. Let the cooking begin!- "Nooooooo!!!!! You let us out of this horrible, tacky enclosure! I demand you release us this instant!" Sim yelled, pounding his fists against the door.
Khun Ying shook her head, she knew there would be no way for them to escape. Not unless Sim had magical abilities to transport them. She figured the only way out was to finish the task the Man had set them to accomplish. Khun Ying sniffed her way through the ingredients available and was trying to recall as many recipes as she could. She needed simple dishes for she didn't expect Sim to be of any help, especially since Sim looked like he couldn't so much as turn the oven on.
The velvet scrounged up a pad of paper and a pencil that she assumed had been left to enable her to compose the song. It was difficult, trying to write but she tried her best and handed the paper to the still wailing Sim.
"You expect me to help you cook!?" he gasped. "But that's manual labor!"
Khun Ying scribbled her response, "If you no help, we stuck forever" it read.
Sim closed his eyes and for once, appeared serious, "Alright, I will actually be of help, only because I cannot think of any other alternative. But if you tell anyone that I was of some use, I will deny it and attribute it all to luck. Now then, let's get started."
The Velvet cocked her head to the side as she wondered what her brother meant. This lasted briefly as she set about to messily scribbling down the ingredients and procedures for the meal. The Appetizer Rolls and Garlic SauceRecipe for rolls 3/4 teaspoon active dry yeast 3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon lukewarm milk 2 teaspoons white sugar 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon butter, melted and cooled 1.) In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the milk and add the sugar. In another bowl, sift the flour and salt together and add the cooled melted butter. 2.) Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture, and turn out onto a floured counter and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel and let rise in a warm, draft free place to 45 minutes. 3.) Turn dough out onto the freshly floured board and shape into 9 balls. Place dough balls into a buttered and floured 9 inch square pan. Let them sit, covered for another 15 minutes to rise again. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. 4.) Bake for 15-20 minutes until browned and puffed. Split open and serve warm. Recipe for sauce 3 medium heads garlic 2 tablespoons butter 1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F 2.) Fold the packets up, and arrange them in a 9 inch pie pan. 2.) Bake for 30 minutes, or until the garlic is soft. "That seems simple enough," Sim nodded as Khun Ying gathered the ingredients. The panda nudged her brother to start preparing while she pre-heated the ovens. The Side Dish Baked Mushrooms1 pound fresh mushrooms, quartered 1 onion, diced 1 clove garlic, chopped 1 green bell pepper, diced 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 dash pepper 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 2 tablespoons water 4 tablespoons melted butter 1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F 2.) In a 1 quart casserole dish combine mushrooms, onion, garlic, green pepper, seasoning salt, pepper and parsley. Pour water and butter over mixture and cover. 3.) Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Khun Ying looked over to her brother as she collected the rest of the ingredients, she was amazed at his dexterity and how well he followed the recipe. The Main Dish Vegetable Savory Pie1/2 cup shredded potatoes 1 tablespoon grated onion 1/4 egg, beaten 1/4 teaspoon salt 3/4 teaspoon all-purpose flour 1-1/4 teaspoons olive oil 3/4 teaspoon vegetable oil 1/4 onion, chopped 1/2 clove garlic, minced salt and pepper to taste 1/8 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme 1/4 head cauliflower, coarsely chopped 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese 1/2 eggs, beaten 1 tablespoon milk 1/8 teaspoon paprika 1.) Brush the crust with oil, and bake for another 10 minutes. 6.) Remove crust from oven, and reduce the oven's temperature to 350 degrees F Filling: 1.) In a large frying pan over a high heat, heat the oil until hot. 2.) Reduce the temperature to medium and saute onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper and paprika in the hot oil; cook for 8 to 10 minutes. 3.) Stir the cauliflower into the pan and cook for 15 minutes. 4.) Spread 1/2 of the cheese onto the potato crust. 5.) Spoon the vegetables on top of the cheese. 6.) Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the sauteed vegetables. 7.) Beat the milk and eggs together in a small bowl, and then pour over the vegetables and cheese. 8.) Sprinkle paprika over the mixture. 9.) Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top of the pie is slightly browned. "I draw the line at being near oil that can burn me," Sim frowned, "I've already done most of the mixing, you do realize you should do the frying."
"I would but I hard stand up," was Khun Ying's reply. And granted, it would be difficult for her to balance on her hind legs while she struggled with the frying pan.
Sim sighed and threw his hands into the air in surrender. "Mother had better make this worth my while when we get back..."The Dessert Seasoned Apples1 apple - peeled, cored and chopped 1/4 dash ground cinnamon 1/4 dash ground nutmeg 2 tablespoons walnuts 2 tablespoons pecans 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon butter, diced 1/4 pinch salt 1.) Add butter and salt and chop until mixture resembles coarse meal. 5.) Sprinkle topping over apples. 6.) Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. "After this, I am going on a diet," Sim whined. Khun Ying ignored her brother, she was too busy thinking about the other half of the task as she prepared the food.
