[.Scarlet - Poem.]

~The color of the sun and the sky can be many colors of the warm variety, from reds to oranges to yellows and the splendid purples of the clouds. However, there is one that grabs my attention, that creates the illusion of perfection. That is Scarlet.

Scarlet is perfect, deep red or crimson could not hope to deflect or deter her beauty. And thus are left jealous.

Scarlet is undeniable, purple and indigo can do nothing but bow down before her at the very whim of her perfection.

Scarlet is caring, yellow and gold hide in shame for their compassion could not hope to compete with such undeniable perfection.

Scarlet is joyful, blue and turquoise can not help but leap in glee at the sight of such excitement as this caring undeniable perfection.

Scarlet is loving, green as I am in profuse irony, our lives are like christmas as she carries my heart in such joyful caring undeniable perfection.~

[.Seeing Red.]

~Hard as the hoof that struck down the now flailing Bae, the sting teeth dared to entice the foe further. The threat, the living breathing monster that had once cast down the bonds of hate would no longer strangle the exasperated colt he use to be. Delarro, the b*****d son of a Bae mother and ichsa father would not stand to see his mother's mate strike her down no more. His blood was of full Ichsa, and though he may have claims to the Bae mare, Delarro had been fathered by another stallion. His life had been in shambles since his cursed birth.

No more. The wretched cross son had grown into a lean, swift stallion, sporting the horn of the ichsa and the wings of his mother, he would cast down the fowl beast that had made his life hell for no apparent reason to the young, frightened colt he use to be. Although when his teeth struck the neck of his foe, he only felt the swift rebuttle of sharp forehoof into his chest and staggered back; out of breath.

"No half-baked son of dirt and drek is going to over-step me! Stay out of this boy, its not the business of bastards like yourself."

Words like these should not have been said by a father, if indeed Delarro had once thought of the Bae as such. In either case, he was a colt no more, his angst had spilled over into his stallionhood, and now he had the body to retaliate against the stout, round-barreled, heavy-hoofed oaf. "You're the piece of drek, that's my mother!" If it were at all possible for a nequus to growl he would have, for the lanky cross arched his neck and partially reared off his forelegs, still a bit uncertain with this new body, but fueled with unrepenting rage. As if he were starving animal released from a cruel captivity, he plunged downward with ravenous hooves, attempting to hammer the hard edges into the Bae stallion's head.

However, he was only to find himself cast aside with a counter plunge from his foe, his light weight cast aside as if he were nothing at all by a simple toss of the Bae's bulk; which was more than his own. For Delarro was thin and lanky like the ichsa, but his size was no more than a Bae's, putting him at a disadvantage with the stocky stallion before him. In his dread, Del had shut his eyes, feeling the ground race up at him as he was sure heavy hooves were to follow. There were no hooves, but a wet sensation against his cheek as he felt something strike it. Quickly opening his gaze, as he expected rain, he was surprised to see his foe had spit at him- as he did it a second time as his eyes were opened.

"b*****d son of none you are, worthless as drek since the day you were born, and just as pathetic as your mother. Stay down, I'll get to you next," and at that, the Bae approached Del's mother once more with murderous intent.

Things changed for Del then, as they would remain for the rest of his life. He didn't feel it when his hooves pressed against the earth as he stood. He didn't feel his taunt muscles release in a swift plunge forward. He didn't feel his neck arch and his head lower. But Del did feel the sick giving away of flesh as his long, delicate horn burried itself into the chest of the Bae. And he enjoyed the harsh thrash of his own head as he tore his forehead from the hot, sticky sensation of blood; the sharp jolt to his head telling him that his horn had broken from his head, leaving behind wild rivers of crimson against his pale hide.

The monster was to feel no more as it feel limp and suddenly to the dirtied earth, his mother could live in peace from now on, and Del was forever changed in his once innocent heart and soul.

The stallion was, for once and forever, seeing red in his field of vision.~

[.Moon and Stars.]

~Far off into the past of Urin, the world was a much different plance that it is now. Nequus roamed the land of course, much to the standards we do today, but after the sunlight had worn itself out and the land once more bathed itself in darkness everything seemed to come to an end. There was but one thing to cast a pale onto the earth, the Moon, but the sight was as boring as watching the burning sun drift across the sky during the day.

Tired of not having her beauty recognised and very lonely up in the sky all by her self, the moon began to fade night after night. At first only a sliver of her was gone, but after many more days it was apparent that large portions of the moon had disappeared, leaving the land below darker than it had ever been before.

The nequus of Urin were not oblivious to this fact, and panic began to spread throughout the ancient herds like wildfire. Many believed the land was cursed and had been forsaken by the great powers that wielded them in favor, each respectfully having their own ideas on such faiths. Unable to choperate with each other or agree with one idea, the Nequus fought against each other in terrible worry and frantic panic, attempting to find some ways to appease what ever Gods or Goddesses they had angered.

Then one night, when the moon had completely disappeared the realm was cast into complete black oblivion, as if the nequus simply lived in a void that had never once seen the light of day. There was one stallion amongst a group of once peaceful Nequus who in his desperation cast his head up to the sky and begged for the moon to return. He praised her beauty and her wisdom for the entire night, bellowing his love of her 'guiding light' until his voice was hoarse and cracked with every word that left his lips. Finally, when he could muster nothing more than a raspy whisper he promised, "I will gather fruit for you if you are hungry, I will praise you every night, and I will keep you from being lonely if only you bring light back to this Urin!"

When night went to day, and once more day ensued into night, the stallion who had pledged his faith to the moon vanished from the land, and when the Nequus looked to the night sky they saw that a sliver of the moon shown bright against the black void, and by its side glimmered a small pointed dot, that come to be known as a star. Named after the forehead markings some Nequus sport.

From that day on, the moon continued its cycle of disappearing and reappering, and so it did not get lonely it took with it the departed souls of Nequus past, offering them a safe haven away from the loneliness she once felt. However, she has never taken another living soul from its place on the land, for the bond between her and the stallion was a special one, whom she held in favor above all else. The Nequus who had changed her heart to care for the Nequus below.~

Gathering Fruit

"I was off gathering fruit from the humans for Cressida and I to enjoy together while lounging under our growing tree when I happened upon Vierna. I'll get to that a little later though, first I'd like to talk about our tree. Its growing, and it seems healthy as far as I can tell. What's astounding though is the number of fruit. Five. We're going to have five foals together and I'm absolutely baffled by this. Going from one to such a great number, how will we do it? I have no doubt we may be able to wrangle Tucker into helping to raise his siblings, but wow. Five. Five! I know I'll love them all.

My happiness aside, I happened upon Vierna, as I previously stated. I hadn't spoken to her since we met at the beach during that last Zaknafein encounter, and I can't say I enjoyed this conversation as well. I'm starting to trust her, as I remembered part of my past in our visit, but we spoke of a rather sore subject. My mother. I have no memory of what she was like, but apparently she was a sickly thing that gave me up on the grounds she'd perish if she raised me. I... can't help but feel some resent to the way Vierna put it, but perhaps that stems from my own ideals of mine and Cressie's children. If it meant I'd die taking care of them, I'd do it just to make sure they knew their father loved them.

Its somewhat sad though, I have no clue if my mother is alive anymore or if she did indeed perish despite not having to take care of me. I'll not allow it to get to me though, I've made a life for myself and I intend to keep all that are in it happy and cheerful. I must be going now, I must return with the fruit."

Unforseen Detour

"Well my mind got the best of me again, and I've started questioning things that should have been better left alone. I can't help it, I'm not a very out spoken nequus and most of my pondering is done internally and kept to myself. It makes sense that I would deal with my problems in this fashion. Thinking back to the issue with Zaknafein, I should have concluded that bottling my thoughts up like this would merely serve the purpose of driving myself insane. However, she's my mother, how could I not take the situation seriously?

To back track, I was on my way back to the tree where Cressida was resting, with the fruit I had promised to gather for her. Many strange things don't happen to me very often, so when my eye caught the glint of a vertical metallic object I halted to inspect just what it exactly had come into my line of sight. I really had no clue what it could be, and a lone Nequus seemed to be standing guard no more than a foot away from it. Naturally I decided to mind my own business and was off again to return home; when a voice called me over. It was the nequus, and he beckoned me over to inspect what had obviously caught my attention.

I learned that the long metallic object was called a blade, an object he used in the same fashion as an ichsa or reya horn apparently. I'm curious as to how he would do this, as I've never even heard of such a thing. Long story short, he must have noticed my attention was somewhere else, and he taught me the technique of meditation. It's helped, I believe. I found that I could forgive my dam and be on my merry little life without a bother. He was a strange fellow, small for a bae and very peaceful. I think I'll seek him out again when time permits."

They're Here

User Image

"Wow. Just wow. When Cressida and I had Tucker I believed he was the best thing to ever happen to me, but now that we have five more how am I suppose to feel? Of course I love them all, as a father should, and obviously we're very lucky considering we're not of the same breed. My concern is how we're going to go about raising them. With Tucker I was mostly concerned for his life and wanting to give him a happy future, but that's also when the drekhallah Zaknafein was skulking around and threatening to kill him. Luckily we don't have to deal with bastards like him at the moment, but that leaves me at an impass. Can I do this?

I think if I just show them love and attention we should be okay. Beyond those intial thoughts, I'm very happy with how things have turned out. Cressida and I both had wanted more than one this time around, and look what we got; five! They're all very beautiful, though one of our daughters is even more white than Tucker was. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised after seeing Rhea, Cress's mother. Still, it was a shock when the next one to hatch actually had solid color, I think double checked just to make sure. We also have three, strong, healthy colts to take care of. I really hope they get along with their brother well, now that Tucker is full grown I'm thinking he'll help us out a bit. Of course the boy is a stallion now, he may very well wander off to explore the world on his own.

I myself had been a wanderer since before I had met Cressida, and had enjoyed the world and all its splendors. I believe in my younger years I hadn't stayed in one place for longer than a few days, and that I was always on the move. Now though I'm more than happy to stick around with my little family, I just want to make them happy now. I ask of nothing for myself any more these days, its seems like I'm giving more than I'm getting. I suppose that's all right and fair, after the freedoms I've enjoyed in my lifetime.

We may not have a herd of our own, but its almost as if we're creating our own with the number of foals that hatched this time around. I find it amusing, really. As for life, right now its pretty good. At some point though, I'll need to track down Lucius and Nizhoni, I haven't seen either of them in a long time, and I'd like to catch up with them a bit."

[~Library Tale~]

[.Language.]

~Long ago, before humans interacted with any other creatures, nequus roamed the lands of Urin, although mostly restricted to the temperate regions of D'ob where it was warm all year round. There were very few herds in the begining, where most nequus prefered to live on their own, and most happened to be of the bae breed. They're butterfly wings were considered beautiful, and they were prized to any individual who had them. Amongst the many numbers of bae were quite a few less of aeri and jala, and even fewer of the mysterious reya and ichsa breeds that prefered to stay on the outskirts of most large groups and kept to themselves more so than others.

It was on a day such as this that a lovely bae mare happened to discover quite an odd pair of footprints near her favorite drinking hole, and after some looking around found more leading away from the watering hole in a different direction from where she came. The footprints weren't hooves like a nequus's, nor were they paws like a rit's or caris's. They were longer and much flatter looking.

This bae was a very curious sort, and had never once feared anything in her life other than leaving the valley. But then most nequus back then were afraid to leave their home and explore the lands beyond D'ob. With a snort of determination she set off in search for the owner of these strange footprints, and after some long moments of going off in this other direction, she stumbled upon a very strange sight; a colony of two legged creatures that only had hair upon their heads. Startled and surprised out of her wits the mare went racing back to her valley home, shouting about monsters and fiends that stood upon two legs.

Most everyone laughed at her. The bae thought she was simply playing a trick on them and merely chuckled and played along, nipping at her playfully while others pretended to be monsters and chase off their friends. The Jala thought she was was trying to play a mean trick on them and sneered at her for thinking they were stupid enough to fall for that trick. And the aeri thought she was crazy, and chose to simply ignore her. She was very heartbroken over this, as she was senstive creature, and turned away from her kin in despair. She had tried to warn them of the strange animals, but they hadn't listened.

As she traveled further away from the main group of nequus, she noticed that a few of the outskirters had gathered together and were traveling toward her. This had never happened before, and she was very taken aback by this strange behavior. After all, in those times ichsa and reya were mysterious and sometimes feared for never interacting with the other breeds.

They stopped short of a comfortable distance and one ichsa stallion approached, although hesitatnly. "Have you seen the two-leggers as well?" he asked, somewhat suspiciously. The bae mare was so astounded that they too had seen the creatures, she jumped and bucked excitedly. "Yes! Yes I have seen the monsters, but the others won't believe me..." she gasped then fell silent, remembering the hulmilation she had suffered.

The ichsa nodded and merely stayed calm, throwing a scornful glance in the direction of the main members of bae, jala, and aeri. "We've seen them, and we've also tried talking to them. It seems like they're friendly enough, but their speach is not something we can understand..." he seemed to get a confused look on his face before shaking his head. "My friend believes it is because we have developed seperately, and have not had contact with each other until recently. She believes that is reason enough for us not to share the same language," he explained.

The bae nodded her head, eager to hear his explanation. Well it was good to know they were friendly, but she was somewhat sad that they couldn't speak with each other. "I'm sorry to hear that, though I suppose I shouldn't have called them monsthers. They might have believed me-" she was cut off by a fiery 'humph' from the ichsa stallion.

"Don't concern yourself with that, some people just don't understand what they haven't seen for themselves. I do hope you'll visit us at times, miss, you seem sensible enough." The ichsa then bowed his head and returned to his group, which soon dispersed into individuals after a breif chat. The bae mare was left to wonder at these strange new creatures, and wondered if at some point they'd ever be able to understand each other.

Strange New World

"The time has come for me to return the basket for the humans, its a useful tool, but not when I have to lug it around from place to place now that the foals are here. In fact I saw it more as a hinderance now that I won't be running from Shrilal to Ryuten pretty much daily. So I had decided to take it back to the humans for safe keeping, I'm certain they'll let me borrow another one if the time comes when another tree has presented itself in my life. However I did not go alone, my daughter Tehya accompanied me and though she slowed me down considerably I must admit I did not mind. She's very fascinated in what's going on around her, and I think I had to nudge her along at least twice before we made it to Ryuten. I never was one to enjoy the snow though, so I couldn't exactly see why she found it so interesting.

Once we were there she didn't want to get near the humans, and I was fine with that. I don't know if I just them enough to come towards her more than they did me in fact. Still, she's very hesitant about things, and though I don't think her a coward I want to teach her how to live her life to the fullest. There's no reason to keep yourself guarded when you only have one life to live, and that's how've done it for as long as I remember. Of course, this coming from the stallion that was prepared to give his life for his son, so I suppose I can see the down sides to my choices. I certainly wouldn't want my daughter thinking like that. She's so young, and full of life, like the other foals that came from the same tree. I wouldn't want her thinking she could cut herself down in her prime without a second thought, that's not at all what I'd want to teach her.

Anyways, we were about to head back when she asked me to tell her story. I didn't mind. I love telling stories and I love telling them to my foals. She had asked me a question: why don't the humans speak nequus? Or something along those lines. I only have theories, passing them off as legends to tell her, otherwise I would have given her a straight answer. I don't think she minded though, and she seemed to enjoy the tale. We're on our way back to the tree in Shrilal now, I'll update you further there if possible."

[~Combat Exercise~]

[.Perfecting the Wheel.]

Aitumn had never been fond of the chilling temperatures that accompanied the winter season, but the bite of the icy wind and the flurries that stuck to his coat hardly bothered him at the moment. After all, one found it difficult to concentrate on the cold when their body was working through the warmth of firm muscle in use. The blood bay had come to the decision long ago that he was in need of some formal training when it came to combat, especially after the incident with Zaknafein. Never again would Aitumn allow another nequus to so much as come close as to biting or kicking at one of his foals; not without swift and unmerciful reprimend that is. Of course, luckily Tucker was a grown stallion now, and eventually his other foals would grow; and though he'd still give his life to protect them he figured they'd be better suited to fight for themselves if it came to it. After all, they were fortunate enough to inherate their mother's horn. That in itself was a comfort to the Jala stallion.

By now he had loped and stretched his limbs out enough to both warm his body and remain flexible during his exercise so as not to strain a muscle. It was common sense after all, that flexibility was an important part of moving around, and if there was anything the blood bay could flaunt it was all sorts of complex movements that demanded balance. Aitumn's hooves hardly failed him in that measure.

He had decided, upon the advice of what seemed to be his personal mentor, that he would work on one skill at a time until it was perfected. Whether or not it worked as well as the meditation technique, he'd need to make the trip back to the spot between Ryuten and Shrilal to thank the little bae stallion. For it seemed, Bakufu was a treasure trove of insightful information, whether he had come up with it himself or had been taught however had yet to be discovered. The skill he had decided upon for today, was basic but useful if performed with perfection even against the most skilled of warriors. The wheel. The move, depending on the direction one turned to face, could be performed with either a bite or a kick, and Aitumn was prepared to practice both.

Without further hesitation, the blood bay stallion started out with a basic form, loping forward at a smooth gait. It seemed like the easiest of strageties to begin with, and even the easy ones needed perfecting. A few strides into forward and his muscles bunched and released upon impack with the ground, surging himself forward with his hind hooves, while his body twisted and slammed to the right; automatically his inside wing extended while the other tucked close against his side to help with balance.

Instantly he outstretched his neck to lead in the direction of an imaginary enemy, teeth flashing as if he were prepared to grab onto said enemy's flesh. To follow through on the move as his forehooves reached the ground, Aitumn wrenched his head from side to side before balking and prancing off to the side to avoid being struck at in what he assumed would have happened. Of course this imaginary enemy could not stand up to an actual sparing partner, but he had yet to find someone willing. Though he supposed could have asked Cressida or Tucker, but something even pretending to fight his family seemed wrong.

Instead of starting again at a different point, Aitumn jumped right back into fighting his supposed imaginary enemy; although he supposed he looked rather colt'ish for doing so. It'd been a long while since he'd actually sparred with his imagination, and he was quite young last time he had done so. Thus, as he regained a level footing the stallion lurched forward and spun, bucking with an arch of his shoulders and a hollow of his back while throwing a sideways kick as he did so. Going through this session of wheels of kicks and bites while moving proved to ware down on his energy somewhat, but not enough to keep him from stopping to catch his breath. In a real fight, he would not get the chance to do so, and thus in practice he shouldn't be allowed to either.

When he was satsified with his preformance of the technique, and could feel it begining to get somewhat repeditive, the stallion moved onto something else. Something that seemed somewhat more difficult; the stand still wheel. Calming himself and settling his body into a mere stand, which proved difficult after riling himself up enough for that series of vicious attacks, Aitumn pricked his ears and arched his neck as if he were facing a potential opponent.

A sudden gust of wind proved to be the movement of his opponent, and provoked a response from the blood bay stallion. His shoulder dipped as he swung his nose to the left, again his wings either folding or unfolding to help him balance, as he spun on his hind hocks. A single leap forward and Aitumn planted his forehooves into the ground, delivering a shattering straight kick to nothing but air. Had it been another nequus and had it hit them squarely, it could have proven handy. Though Aitumn wasn't the most powerful of nequus, he made up for it with good timing thanks to his speed and agility. He did this several times, mostly to kick, but once with a backward wheel to bite at a charging opponent from behind. He'd need to work on that one a bit more, but the move wasn't very practical as the opponent would have still slammed into him. Which was something a Jala would rather avoid with the larger breeds such as Aeri.

Next the stallion turned his eyes to the skies, and decided it would be a good move to practice in flight as well. If not just a few times. He was begining to break a sweat, and did not have the energy for more than a few wheels while flying. After all, flying demanded more power, and Aitumn was begining to feel his blows loosen slightly. Even if speed and strength were his strong suits, power was also a great help. Plunging to a gallop the jala unfurled his feathered wings to feel the bite of the icy winds against his sides; which had previously been covered by the warm appendages. He so despised the winter season.

Never the less, Aitumn leapt upwards and beat his wings enough to get him air borne, circling his training area until he was able to climb up high enough to practice safely. Once there, the stallion dipped into a subtle downward climb, typical for flying. Once deciding upon the time to do so, he prepared for the aerial wheel; a technique he had not put into practice not many times before. His wingblades tightened as they propelled him forward with as much force as he could muster, his body twisting to the left. As he did so he partially folded his inside wing and stretched out his limbs, tightly tipping inward and throwing his folded wing out again. The force to do so was tremendous, but in return he wheeled in the other direction quick enough to counter attack any persuers.

Performing the technique once more, he became thoroughly exhausted and spiraled down in a smooth landing. His training was done for today, and he decided he'd need to do this routine at least a few more times until he had perfected the technique enough to be totally confident in it. Still though, it had helped, and in the winter he'd do anything to keep himself warm. With a final snort to the small clearing, he set off to join his growing family for the rest of the day.

Can You Feel That?

"Its been a long stay in Shrilal for me and Cressida, but the wait is finally over. The tree bore five healthy fruits this time around, which was shocking after Tucker's tree. How do we go from one fruit the first time around, to a number like five? I don't know much about nequus genetics or what not, but it seems very unlikely for a crossbreed pairs to produce that many fruits. Or maybe its not as uncommon as I think. I'm not entirely certain about that point. To say the least, despite my surprise, I'm very delighted by this fact.

When they decided to hatch it came suddenly, as it had before, but I think we knew the time was growing near. We just didn't know the exact point in time. We wound up having two beautiful daughters and three handsome sons; their names being Rosanzhelle, Tehya, Lyra, Casimir, and Aidan. I have no idea where Aidan got that nearly solid chestnut coat, but then again Rose came out completely white except for her golden hooves and horn. Wow, my kids surprise me at just about every turn it seems. As far as I know they're all healthy, which is a relief.

I can't believe this is what my life has turned into. I use to have no ambitions in life, and I didn't care that I couldn't remember my past. However, I believe this is a much better way to live; I have reasons to continue now. Five new reasons, and three others that are just as dear to my heart. I even consider Rhea as a part of my family now.

I'm happy to be spending my life with Cressida, for as long as she'll have me. And until the day comes when she's had enough, I'll throw my entire being into protecting our family from harm."

Legacy of a Wanderer

"Today I've taken Tehya on a little adventure through D'ob. Usually I like to stretch my legs or take the time to train away from the tree, though this time my daughter opted to come with me. I don't mind the company, and it allows me to spend more time with her on a whole. I love all my children, believe me, but I won't deny its sometimes good to just spend some quality time with one of them alone every once and awhile.

As we went our way across D'ob we were approached by a purple and gold crossbreed mare: Bae wings and Ichsa horn. As always I really don't care for what breed others our, or what they look like appearance wise, so her being a cross didn't bother me. Obviously. I have six of my own and I'm still in love with Cressida who is in fact a Reya.

She spoke with us and said she liked to collect stories and legends, so naturally Tehya piped up and declared that I liked to tell stories and legends. Unfortunatly the one I told wasn't what she was looking for, which was fairly embarrising in front of my little girl. I suppose my ego had been getting the best of me lately though, so it probably wasn't a bad thing to get knocked down a few pegs. Instead of sulking about it I told her several different things, one of Lucius and the other of Sanue. Plus, since I owed it to her, I told her the story of Zaknafein. That drek-head still pisses me off everything time I think about it though.

She left soon enough and we went on our way once again. I'm not particularly jumping to meet her again, but she was decent enough so I wouldn't mind it. Tehya however was silent most of the way home, hopefully I didn't over do it by telling that tale in front of her."

Diego's Seer Quest

"One of those times again when I went off to train by myself. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to work on today, but my body let me know soon enough. Running. Racing to be percise, but I didn't exactly have anyone around to race with. Its been such a damn long time since I've had my speed challanged as well, but I suppose that's because I've been a quite a bit preoccupied with Cressida and the tree.

While I was galloping across D'ob I happened to hear a nequus' scream, a sound that I hardly hear at all. To say the least I came to a halt and immediatly checked out the area, and I didn't find a single disturbance. Although, there was a golden Jala stallion who looked like a piece of work. Quite insane if I do say so myself, but that's not usually enough to deter me. I don't know what was going on with him but I didn't stick my nose into his business.

I'd say we had a nice chat, but he tended to babble and it gave the impression he was either nervous or sarcastic. I don't think it was the later, so I tended to glance around quite a bit to be sure there wasn't some sort of ambush waiting for him or me, or possibly both. However, the guy told me he was pondering leaving his foals in the care of a herd, and though its not my business, I decided I could at least try to help him out.

We went for a run, though it wasn't exactly what I had in mind from before. It was more of an endurance thing, and I didn't quite go all out; it wouldn't be good to leave the guy behind in the state he was in. After awhile he stumbled and decided he'd go off on without my company. That was fine with me, I did what I could and I needed to get back to Shrilal before sundown. If I see him again hopefully he'll be having a better time of it all."

Ways of the World

"Today I took the girls out for a little trip around D'ob, just to get them use to the world we live in. I'm aware that there are nequus out there that dislike and down right hate cross foals and crosses in general, but I'm fairly confident I can take on any threat that happens our way. Why? Oh my friend, I've been training alot, not just my body or its condition, but combat techniques. Now its not like I'm a trained soldier or anything, but I've got some moves down and my body is in top condition again. Next time someone threatens my family, I'll give them hell to pay, I assure you. We've risked enough with Zaknafein in the past, and that experiance has shown me that I need to be prepared for what may come next.

Now, back to today's events. While the girls and I were on our little journey, we happened to come across a rather odd pair during a game of tag. A cross mare by the name of Nepenthe, and her caris companion Cassia. They were both friendly, if I may say so myself, but it was Cassia who happened to do most of the talking. Tehya and Rose had many questions for the caris, although some were more personal than others. I'm just glad that neither of the two got offended by my girls, I wouldn't have liked the encounter to go sour or turn violent at that point.

If we happen that pair again I wouldn't mind speaking with them again, and hopefully I'll be able to learn more about them next time since I didn't do much talking this time around. That's about it for now, but rest assured I am continuing my training of both body and mind. Hopefully I'll be able to come up with some rather interesting and unexpected combat skills. Best to catch an opponent off their guard if you ask me."
