Sometimes, I have to wonder about their accuracy in some stuff. Like if you've seen Walk The Line, it paints Johnny Cash to be a complete scumbag. I'm not a Johnny Cash historian or anything, but I find it kinda hard to believe he was that big of an idiot, messing with all those nasty things and such. razz
Now if it was Behind the Music... they'd definitely overblow things. I remember hearing about them doing one on Weird Al, but since he has such a cheery career, they had to exaggerate things like UHF not doing well in the box office and acting like it had a bigger effect on him than it did. razz

Vh1 and Hollywood aren't related in any sense. xd And thank god for that.
I'm not a Johnny Cash historian, either. But I wouldn't have a hard time believing he was a skum bag. Because guess what? Bing Crosby was a skum bag. xd
And he was painted to be America's family man. First sung the ballad, "White Christmas" and made girls swoon. And he was a complete a** and very cold to people. xd ;; Hard to believe... and hard to admit.. since he makes me swoon. =X

If the Freddie movie is to be made, it depends on the studio. We really don't want somebody like MTV studios or VH1 pictures producing the project- an independent group would be much better, or a British film company. Since the boys are Brits and all, i think we have some hope for it not turning Freddie into a complete jerk.

I think I'd cry if I saw Freddie turned into something he wasn't in a movie. Because when people see it, that image is all they'll see, and if they don't know the first thing about Freddie, they'll think the movie is his true personality, because geez, movies are always the gospel truth. neutral
Gr @ gullible people who think movies are always 100 percent true.
In all seriousness, I really would be upset if hoardes of pepole would be seeing an inaccurate portrayal of one of my idols. :[

i think that part of the problem with a Freddie movie will be explaining who he really was. It's hard to get an accurate portrayal of such an enigma. The Queen bio i read, Queen: As It Began seemed to be pretty good, but knowing movies, it'll probably be titled something like "The Freddy Mercury Story".

Its not the best pictuer of this actor/ comedian but the guy on the left is someone whom I think would play a good young Freddie. He's already got the hair, the accent, and the sparkly suit. The first time I saw him, I thought to myself, he's like a young Freddie Mercury! EDITI found this on photobucket. So I know i'm not the only one who thinks so.

Has Brian mentioned anything about it on his soapbox or whatever? God knows he's going to get a vast amount of E-mail for this...

Borat as Freddie?
*rips ears off* XD;
I'm not really sure about the authenticity of that article >_>; As excited as I am over a Freddie movie, I can't help but cringe at the outcome. I just hope Brian and the boys use enough sense to hire a decent studio to produce the work D:
EDIT: I don't see anything of the sort on Brian's site... or the QOL site for that matter XD;

BrianMay.com > Queen News …AND NO “BORAT” FOR FREDDIE After last weeks rumor that “Borat” actor Sasha Baron Cohen would portray Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in an upcoming bio-pic, MTV News confirmed that the reports are false. The actor’s publicist told MTV News that the rumor was “absolutely untrue” and it is "Pure hokum." Cohen’s next project is the film adaptation of the Broadway play, Sweeney Todd, in which he plays alongside Johnny Depp, who coincidently has long been considered a candidate to play Mercury. There you have it. xD

So is he or isn't he?
And, who would you rather have play Freddie? Someone who looks like him, can sing Falsetto similar to him, or someone who you think can try to act like him?
