Georgia hugged herself tighter at the disagreement until a voice shouting from futher down the beach caught her attention. She shrugged back not sure what he said.
Finally the discussion seem to fizzle out. Georgia staring at the circle Autumn made. "I bet I'm not the only one, when I say... I want to go home. I don't want to be here... don't want to be a- an animal..."
She too hated her braces, food clung to them and she was forever cleaning her teeth trying to get rid of the debri. They were ugly too. She briefly wondered what would happen if her teeth changed, but didn't wish to play out any secenrios in her head. For now she was walling in her misery of her slowly losing humanity. Afriad with what insincts will surface with her new body. What was so wrong with the old one? Sure she was overweight and more then once she wished she could change everything, but now she would give anything to keep her pale skin, wobbly thighs and ordinary looks. She didn't want to change anymore.

Nick gave out a loud sigh as the other people failed to notice him. He giggled as he turned back to see Colette flexing her whiskers.
“Hehehe, I guess so, but you still look cute” he gave her a quick peck on the cheek, with was more like an actual peck with his psuedo beak. “In fact, it makes you look even cuter!” he gave her another hug before he could response, he was just so happy right now, he felt like he could do practically anything and not feel embarrassed.

Ryan wasn't too put off when she didn't shake his hand. Not everyone was as comfortable with the changes as he was. He was, however, put off by her reaction to his question. It hadn't been something intended to upset her, he just wanted to know. Crap, I've gone and done it again. I hope my feet don't get too big, I seem to be sticking them in my mouth a lot lately
After her reaction, he muttered a quiet 'sorry, and then turned to the ocean. He sat there for a few minutes, just listening to the waves, trying to calm himself down. He had apparently really upset her, and he felt horrible about it. He sat there, lost in his thoughts, until a bit of their conversation drifted his way: "...I don't want to be here... don't want to be a- an animal..."
Ryan turned back. Maybe he could try and make up for his mistake by cheering her up. "Awww, it's not so bad. See? I got a tail." He turned, showing the small nub, though he couldn't move it much. He turned his head as much as he could so he could talk to them, since he couldn't twist his back as well; one of the drawbacks of being an Armadillo. "How cool is that?"

Noah huffed unhappily, ears flattening under his hood. Now he felt bad. He...ah, he had gone and assumed. He shrunk back and fidgeted with his hands a bit more.
"I didn't...I'm....oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood..." he said shyly, looking away. His body language was submissive and anxious now; he seemed to exude an aura of...not sadness, but general discontent and reprhensiblility now, like a puppy that knew he had done something wrong.
His ears twitched up again when Georgia spoke up. She was right, she wasn't the only one that wanted to be home, away from this, and NOT becoming an animal. At least she wasn't turning into a rodent. Although, judging by the black patches on her face and elbows...it wasn't much better.
Noah looked up at her shyly.
"You are not alone, miss Georgia." he said quietly. He may not have had much of a life back home...but dammit, it was better than this!
Noah glanced at Ryan and frowned. A tail? Since when was a tail cool? How was that supposed to help any of them? But the German said nothing; last time he did...well, he ended up messing things up things. Misinterperting. He stared down at the ground again. He wished it was as eay to get home as it was in The Wizard of Oz...click your heels and repeat the manra 'there's no place like home'. Noah wasn't sure he could even click his heels anymore though.

Colette smiled and then softly laughed as Nick hugged her. She fanned her wiskers out and then giggled. "Yeah.. A new thing to get the hang of," Colette said

“Yeah, we’ve all got lots of things to get used to... I mean, I’m still getting used to these” He fanned out his arm-wings, displaying his rather unimpressive wingspan. “You have any idea how long it takes me to put my shirt one like this?” Though it was true, he said it in a rather joking matter.
“So, have you tried swimming yet? You must be fast!” He leaned forward, to examine Colettes webbed feet.

She nodded at his wibgs and then shrugged. "You'll find something that works," Colette said to his comments as her wiskers fanned out again. ".Yes! I've gone swimming and it totally rocks. I am quite fast."

Autumn said nothing at first, when he said sorry. When he tried to be a little more funny by attempting to move his stub of a tail, she just sighed.
"Having a tail is not normal. People shouldn't have tails." This man seemed to be a little enthusiastic about his changes. Or, at least, not as nervous as she felt about it.
Turning back to Noah, Autumn just shook her head. "No.. Don't worry about it.. I must've screwed up my words. I do that a lot."

Damn, that backfired. Turning back to face them, Ryan sobered his attitude a little. He sighed, trying to find the words to what he wanted to say. "No...no it's not normal. But, as much as we may want to go home...we can't. Trust me, I'd much rather be home than here.
He left a short pause, wanting to let how he felt sink on a bit. "Did you ever go to the zoo?" He asked all of them in general. "Have a little fun watching the animals? Do you think they wanted to be there? How many do you think were taken from their parents and shipped to other zoos? Yet for most of them, they're happy. They get steady meals, veterinary care, things to play with. So I'm following their lead. I'm going to enjoy my captivity. I get steady meals, veterinay care, and things to play with."
He hoped that didn't make them too angry at him. So far, it seemed people didn't like being compared to animals, especially when they where becoming animals. He tried to lighten the mood again. "And you can't tell me you didn't want a tail as a kid at some point."

Noah kept his ears down, the same reproachful look on his features. Though he managed to nod when the girl apologized herself, he still didn't feel much better.
He turned to the man...the one with the tail. He crinkled his nose. Boy, this guy was optimistic about the island. Sure, he was right- they got medical attention, steady meals and entertainment...but in the end...was it worth it? And being compared to animals in a zoo? This was failing to make the mouse-man feel any better. He huffed angrily again and slashed his tail. They didn't used to be animals! This was different!
He had other things to worry about as a kid too. Making his mother happy. Doing his chores. Trying not to get his a** beat- at home and at school. He never had time to think about how amazing a tail was. His drooping ears flatted back against his head and, not fully thinking, his bared his chisel-like rodent teeth ornamented with brackets in a gesture of irritation.
"Is it vorth it for you? Giving up your family and friends? Giving everyzing up to be turned into an animal? Is zat exchange really vorth it for you? Zink of hoaw your family must feel." he snapped.
He didn't like to get angry normally. Didn't like to argue and fight. But he had...changed as of late.

Georgia didn't really think having a tail was cool at all and from what she was told, it hurt, a lot. But she said nothing. She nodded to Noah's apology, people's nerves were fryed, things were happening that they didn't understand and didn't want to happen. Yet there was nothing they could do except moan and argue amongst themselves.
Georgia stared at a point in space until the chatty guy - Ryan wasn't it? - asked if they had been to a zoo she nodded remembering vaguely visiting one when she was a kid fasinated by the many animals she couldn't possible name or remember clearly. One thing stuck out in her mind, something her mother told her about all the animals she cooed over.
"Animals in zoos are..." What was the words? "'Captive bred' they have no idea what it's like outside those cages..." Her voice trailed off quietly. Maybe she shouldn't have said that, maybe she should've let him imagine he was in the same position as those animals and if they were happy then so should he.
Wanted a tail as a kid? She couldn't recall that she did, she always played the mummy, playing with her dolls and playing make pretend with her friends. If she was perfectly honest she didn't really like animals. She never had pets as a kid, much to her mother's disapointment, but her father held a firm stance. He didn't like animals at all. Maybe if she had a dog like every kid raved about, she might've liked them, but as it stands she wasn't really an animal person. The irony in that sentance was like a cold knife, piercing her heart.
"No not really." It was closer to a whisper.
She looked at Noah, his tail was thrashing under his sheet, didn't dogs do that when they were happy? Although from the look on his hybred face, he looked far from happy, then his long yellow incisors were bared and Georgia held in a gasp as she jumped back at the man's anger.
Although the words weren't directed at her, they struck a cord and the sting of tears threatened to spill. Her family...

Nick couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as Colette continued to play with her owner whiskers, she certainly seemed a lot happier about her transformation since the last time them met.
He rolled down on his stomach in the still warm sand, and looked at the other people on the beach, they looking they there are arguing about something.
“Colette? Think we should cheer them up something?”

"Cheer them up?.. Hmm. Yes! Let's," she said with a smile as she got to her feet and the offer a hand for Nick to take. Colette really enjoied swimming now and was in quite a good mood because she had gone swimming for over two hours. She shook out her fur and hair again so now she looked quite fluffy.

When the man bared his teeth, Ryan felt the urge again to dig down in the sand. He certainly didn't think anything he'd said was enough to fight over. Some detached part of his brain was still going on as normal, and he found himself thinking that his teeth looked like a rodents. He caught a glimpse of the mans tail, and it clicked. He must be a mouse or a rat.
Back in reality, the mans words had an effect on him. "Of course it's not worth it," he said looking down, "I didn't want to leave my family forever. I know my mother will be devastated by my absence." There was a pause before he looked up again, his voice much more confident. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to dwell on it forever. I don't care what my situation is, I'll find a way to be happy." At that, most of the energy seemed to go out of him, and without moving at all, it seemed as though he had slumped to the ground.
"All I'm saying is you have to lighten up sometime, or else you'll collapse under your own weight."
He turned hi attention back to the girl when he heard her comment about captive-bred animals. "That's true for the ones born in captivity, but I've seen plenty that are wild caught, and most of the time they adjust pretty well. And what we have here is hundreds of times better than anything even the San Diego zoo could do." He couldn't stop himself from comparing them to zoos again.

Taking Colette’s hand Nick got up of his stomach, and dusted himself off. He walked along the shoreline towards the group holding hands with her. It was odd, normally he wouldn’t have wanted to talk to strangers, but it was in too much of a good mood right now to feel shy.
“Hi” he smiled broadly towards the nearest person, politely waving his free hand. “What animals are you guys?”, which was admittedly no the best icebreaker, happiness made people do stupid things sometimes.
