She did as suggested, tossing her head, sending mane everywhere. It settled back down into... a mess. Just as it had been before. "Much better." she said, as if she could see it.
Selene giggled. "I do love you, Yue. No matter what if your father and I... don't get along. You are my precious daughter, and I wouldn't trade you for anything. Well, except a few years off my life and a few inches to be taller than this one here..." she eyed Safi.
Yue made a face, but recognized the joke.

Laughing, Safi made a face at Selene. "Even if you were to get taller than me, you wouldn't be able to carry the height as well as I could, Selene, so you'd better stick with your more diminuative stature. That aside, it makes stallions edgy when mares are taller than them so you'd have to deal with that social awkwardness." Not that he really knew much about that firsthand, but he'd been told as much by other stallions. "Besides, I think Yue looks more the tall type; she's got the right bone structure for it."
Chuckling, he stretched out his wings, them by turns his legs. This jaunt had been intended to get him moving, and instead he'd wound up standing still again! He just couldn't win with these mares, could he? "But now that we've gotten these important height issues addressed...anyone in the mood for an apple or two?"

"Diminutive?" Selene's voice had an edge to it. "I am not diminutive."
"Diminutive means small, silly." Yue muttered. "Don't you know anything?"
"I know I like apples, and you do too. And I know that this birdbrain here is going to have to give them to us, since he suggested it."
Yue nodded. "I like apples."
"So do I." Selene said with a grin.
"Coincidence." Yue said, and turned her head away. Old habits were hard to break. But Selene smiled, and nodded thanks to Safi.

Bickering might sometimes be annoying, but it could also be a positive thing. At the moment, he'd take it as a positive.
"Well, I happen to like apples as well. And I like them so much, in fact, that I know there happens to be a basket of them submerged in the stream not too far from here. So, I propose that the three of us wander that way and see what we can do about acquiring a few." Grinning at the two females, Safi gestured with his wings for them to follow him. "There's a bit of walking involved, but I think that even a diminutive one like Selene ought to be able to manage."
