Incredibly confusing (I'm a freshman)
It was the same day as out uniform fitting and so I had to come two hours earlier.
Wow, you guys did uniform fittings on the FIRST DAY? I've never heard of a band doing that before (and I'm the uniform manager for our band this year
xd ). Our band waits until the weekend before or after school starts (I still think it's so people can drop out if they're wimps). Marching band doesn't stay QUITE as confusing as the first day usually is. It'll get a little mellower as you get into the day to day marching band routine.
ANYways (now that I've gotten over my fascination with first day uniform fittings), my first day of marching band was... interesting. I knew someone in almost every section since most of my middle school band mates moved up to MB with me. My section leaders were INSANE. They gave the freshmen little rubbermaid containers decorated with fish and C/O '08 and they were full of goldfish crackers (get it? 'cause we were fish. ha ha ha? ... okay, not funny). We went over the basics (forward march, left and right flank, backwards march, to the rear...) and played some of our football game stand tunes. Then we all danced to the drumline out in the parking lot before going home.
