Lilith nodded down to Gale. "Let him walk. Better to fall behind than to break one's neck falling off. Ready?"

Without really waiting for a reply, Lilith nudged their horse into a fast walk, allowing it to speed up some from there. Riding behind Nathien, she was able to watch out for him to keep him on the horse should he begin to slip.

The horses could only go so fast between the trees, even being trained for it. The good news was that if their pursuers were also on horses, they would have the same problem. The woods began to open up as they traveled, but before they were out in the open Lilith was forced to stop the group to check on the injured and to give both the horses and those on foot a rest.

She turned first to Nathien. "How is the bleeding? Let me see."

"It would seem to have stopped. The chimera didn't hurt me that much." He tried to play the injuries as a minor annoyance as much as possible. He was used to pain, and being hurt. His life was never an easy one, and his tribe taught him to be more self reliant..

He did show any wounds to this Lilith as was instructed and most where dirty, dry scabs by now. Some of the bigger cuts were still bleeding some, but it was a minor thing considering how some of the others looked after the raid. As soon as Lilith was done inspecting his wounds he started to stretch his legs. "Actually I think I can walk from here. I can keep up to the horses much better then that kid over there seems to be able. Maybe he could ride with you. That way he wouldn't break his neck falling." He smirked with his still dirty face from his time in the ditch. "Besides, if we get ambushed, I'll be a lot better off on the ground then that beast."

(( and they all... go off now? xd ))

Lilith made sure every one else was situated before moving off again. One of the men from the raid seemed to be badly injured, so she changed places with the man riding behind him so that she could keep a better eye on the chap. Lilith was tight lipped and grim, and became so occupied with the dying man as they pressed forward, that she paid less attention to their surroundings and none at all to her company. She wasn't really leading any more either. Hope that one of the others has an idea of where to go.

"Is that guy going to be alright? He isn't looking very well." Tesunie looks at the man on the same horse as Lilith. He was starting to look very pale, and Tesunie didn't like that. If things got much worse, he would have to face a scolding from Minlee later, for he would have to use his unknown powers to heal the man. Minlee always did call it some kind of magic, something he was not suppose to have it seemed.

Lilith pointedly did not answer him. Instead, she suddenly decided: "We'll stop here for the night. I can't be sure, but I don't think they had enough men to pursue us without opening their borders further."

Lilith glared at Tesunie as if he had done something rude. "Would you please help him down?" she asked, since the injured man was apparently too out of it to help himself. Yeah, he was getting pretty pale.

Tesunie reached up, to help let the man down. The man was starting to look really sick, and he was still bleeding it seemed. "He needs a healer. Can anyone else here heal?" He didn't mean to say else, for he wanted to help, but didn't want everyone to know about his 'forbidden' magic. (Note, only in the city would it be forbidden, for they think only women can possess magic. He does not have their actual magic.) As soon as he said else, he wished he hadn't. If he was lucky, no one would have noticed his slip.

Lilith's mouth pulled down at the corners in puzzlement. She deliberately finished aiding the injured man to the ground along with Tesunie's help, laying him on his back. "He's bleeding to death," she informed Tesunie. "I have nothing for him. If you can do something, that's on your conscious."

She straightened up between Tesunie and the others, then turned away from Tesunie. "Who is going to help me with preparing food?" she demanded.

"I know this land fairly well, considering I just got done tracking that chimera through here...I think I can help you there. Is there anyone else who would wish to come?" Nathien stated while he rested with the rest of the party.

Tesunie places his hands over the man, and a soft glow starts to emanate from his hands. The wounds on the man slowly starts to close, and seal up. As the man stops bleeding, Tesunie's hand stops glowing. The physical wounds are closed and healed, though they are a pink of new flesh. Minlee will have my butt for this... Tesunie thinks, still believing that he will be going home shortly.

The man coughs, and he is still very pale. It seems like the healing wasn't effective, though looking at the mans body, you would think he was physically uninjured. "His wounds are sealed.... but he is still so pale. What is wrong? I healed him to the best of my abilities?" Tesunie says the last part quietly, about his healing.

Gale spoke up quietly, about a half a foot away from Tesunie's left ear. This was surprising mostly because his approach had been completley silent. He made nothing of it, though, carrying on as though everyone walked with muted footsteps. "He has lost too much blood...I would not suggest trying to make more. I have seen it go wrong." He paused for several seconds, and seemed to realize that he'd been vague. "Full body clot," he added helpfully. He was trying to drag out this conversation, but was not particularly practiced with his people skills. It wasn't often that he got to speak to people, but he was determined to seize this rare chance.

Lilith's brief shake of the head and pursed lips accented her decision. "No. Just us." While the two were trying to have this conversation, Tesunie was working on the dying man behind Lilith.

Although the man's outer wounds were healed, Lilith suspected that the deeper damage had not been touched. The boy was only fourteen and couldn't have more than a few years of experience patching minor wounds, she reasoned. It was better than nothing in most cases, since most wounds in playful combat were not very deep. Yet in this case, even if Tesunie had managed to reach all the way in with his inexperienced hands, Gale was right; the man had lost too much blood, and was going to die.

"See to the others," Lilith commanded the two of them. If she had held out some hope that Tesunie could save the man, she felt foolish for it now. As the assumed leader of the group, she had let the boy waste whatever magic he could wield on a task too large for him, when he could be attempting to help others.

"What is your name again?" she asked Nathien. "Mine is Lilith. I have some of my own provisions, dried meat and the like, but we should not waste this opportunity to scout out behind us for our enemy, and with any luck, to shoot down a rabbit or two to supplement our journey. There are more people than I had thought there would be..." And one of the horses who had been carrying much of their food supplies had run off because of the chimera.

Tesunie just looked up. "Make blood?" He was confused on this. He had never seen anyone bleed to death, so it never even entered his mind that it could happen. He did jump when Gale first started to speak, but he wouldn't have really heard him anyway, for he was concentrating on healing more than anything else. "You mean he will still die? Even after I did my best? That isn't fair." He seemed to sulk. It just wasn't fair for people to die. Death was such an ugly thing. "But he is still breathing? He should live."

Gale fixed Tesunie in the eye for a moment with an unfathomable black stare before nodding once. "There are others..." He would wait until Tesunie moved on to the other walking wounded, however long that took, before crossing the dying man's arms over his chest and reciting a short battlefield prayer. Gale's face was set and pale as ever throughout, as though he were very familiar with death. However, he seemed somewhat awkward as he prayed, stopping and stumbling over half remembered words.

Tesunie, eventually, left the dieing man to Gale. He went off to the next person and healed what he could. He was told to do this, and he felt bad about being so helpless to these people. Minlee was going to be very upset with him when he gets back though. She told him to never use his magic in public, and here he is, using it in front of a large group.

After a few people, he started to feel tired. He had never felt this way... so drained...

(Healing to be determined by Penden, for these are her NPCs and I have no idea how many there are, and how bad their average injuries are.)

"I'm, Nathien." He paused for a bit. "So then, you would like me to go scout out the area behind us and make sure we weren't followed then? It shouldn't be to hard, considering that they would likely be on horses." He might have been relatively new to hunting, but horses are always easier to track then humans any day. "Actually, if you're afraid of trackers, you might want to ditch the horses as soon as possible. They make it easier to track then you would like us to be."
