Nitika felt the weight disappear like a passing cloud yet it stung from the damage that had been dealt. She stood there in a stupor dazed as her lip quivered uncontrolably.

"Wha... just happened." she frowned still looking quite miffed by Stitch and his daredevil scheme. As a light wind brushed her she winced with gritted teeth.

Istas growled fluffed into a ball once more.

"That theiving little rodent. You just wait till I get a hold of you. That was not yours to take. Bring it back here this instant you little hellion!" she stamped her foot then darted off after him, her double large bushy tail waving goodbye as she cleared the hill.

Nitika glanced at Guilian frowning.

"I wonder if we should go after him. I don't think its going to return itself on his time." she nodded flexing her wing, "The scars will heal under my fur so no worries from you," she notted with a well placed nuzzle.

Just like a sequence of dominos falling, the ferret's passing was shortly followed by the departure of the raccoon. Watching the energetic little Istas take off, the first thing to occur to Guilian was that he actually felt sorry for Stitch, should Istas actually catch him. She might be small, but damn she was lippy! He didn't doubt that she could make even the most seasoned of stallions quiver with a fierce look, so if Stitch got caught...

The second, far more important thought, though, was that he and Nitika...were finally alone.

Suddenly, the prospect of Nitika's lost dreamcatcher didn't seem so tragic, provided that Stitch was a fleeter fellow than that raccoon. But he had confidence in the little blue one, confidence that oozed out in a rather satisfied smile as he looked after the creatures. Run and have fun, you two...

"Well, considering the headstart he has, we'd be forced to fly to even catch up, Chica, and the damage we'd do if we tried to stop him with our hooves could very well kill him. No, I'd say that it would be best for us to put our faith in your diminuative yet fierce friend, Istas, and trust that her legs will take her where our wings can't. In the meantime, are you QUITE sure you'll be ok? That looks like it could be painful...."

Moving with the utmost ease and concern, he stepped closer to Nitika so that his chest almost (but not quite) touched her side, gently lowering his muzzle to carefully lip at the raw red marks and softly murmur. "I wish I had something cold for this, so that you didn't have to bear this pain so harshly."

Nitika still stood with her mouth gapped open with everything that happened to her. Only her comment of chasing after and confiding of her being fine was all she breathed. A small movement of her neck caused her breath to hiss as it burned a bit from the open wound.

"Yes but" she murmered peering naively into those deep adorning orbs of his, "I feel odd without it. Are we truly born with a dreamcatcher, is it part of our entire being?" she asked with her own eyes flickering. Moments at a time her mother's nature subdued her to feel like the breath of the ocean. A wispy being simply nestled on the frothy waves.

She seemed lost in thought, depths below the surface of all words and sayings till each sting brought back memories of what had started all this madness. Blinking she shook her head wincing. Its fine really... just really burns if I move my head. And I so do wish the ocean was near here. Ah can you imagine, hear those waves as they sway to and fro from the shore? Such peace and tranquility Guilian. Have you ever been there?" Once again she was drifting as she always was.

Istas on the other hand was hot on the ferret's trail ready to pummel his a** if she got her paws on his scrawny little neck. How dare he take something the child, her guardian's child was born with. His a** was grass when she got a hold of him. Sniffing the air she ran on all fours checking her own dreamcather now and then incase it was becoming loose.

Stitch ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, tripping over the large prize he gripped between those sharp teeth of his. Sometimes he'd roll in a ball just trying to pick the thing back up. Was it really worth it he wondered? Snorting with a sneeze he drug it behind him pausing every so often to catch his breath.

Holding Nitika's gaze squarely with his own, Guilian was the picture of a model listener, nodding his head at the appropriate moment. Her query about the dream catcher caused him to smile ruefully, though, gesturing with a wingtip for Nitkia to observe his own chest. Instead of the standard dreamcatcher, a simple silver chain hung there, into which he always tucked a simple black rose. "I can't say I remember being born, Chica, but to my knowledge I have never had a creamcatcher, merely my own chain. Still, were I to be parted from it I don't doubt I would feel...odd."

To put it mildly. He almost never removed it, loving the feel of it's small but substantial weight against his neck.

However, that was not a concern at the moment. The next comment about the ocean caused him to frown, wondering why she would care for the salty sting of the water against an injury. Ah well, maybe such was theraputic?

"Aye, I've been to the shore. One advantage of being born with wings is that we can traverse great distances in relatively minimal amounts of time. The coast is truly one of my favorite places, so soothing and peaceful...to say nothing of romantic. The noise gets to be a bit much, but all things must be taken with a grain of salt, no?"

Nitika was always one lost in thought if the time seemed odd or imperfected to where it should be. Her shock of the sudden attack had left herself shaken and confused and vulnerable to anything that could be asked or acted upon.

This is why Istas wanted to pummel Stitch and return the Dream Catcher so badly. She still and never would trust that stallion as far as she could toss him, and that my friends was a pretty big thing to do for he weighed how much against the sleek (well when she wasn't blown up like a puffball) form of a possible ten lbs oh her own body weight.

She mumbled clenching her teeth smelling for the foul little thief.

"Where is he.. oh Nitika this isn't supposed to happen. Don't let that brute talk you into anything" she muttered running on all fours desperately to find Stitch and make him give the darn thing back ASAP.

Stitch was tired of the thing, so tired of it tripping him up so much he could barely run. A set of keys, a feather strand, even an apple he could muster, but a huge torn dream catcher? Oh this was purely rediculous to even try and lug this piece of garbage any more. Still it was fun causing the pillow raccoon to chase him but... Aww it was just too much of a burden.

Nitika shifted uneasily feeling that remiding sting in her neck. What would her parents say if she was walking around without it. Sides, she couldn't bear standing there any longer as her wings were getting marjorly cramped.

"Guilian" she murmered with a sigh, "I have to find it. Its a part of me. I love standing here with you listening to your prose and poetic words, but I must regain what was always a part of me. Will you accompany me on finding what I hold most dear?" she pleaded with another uneasy step focusing her weight back and forth upon her forelegs.

Maybe a breath of fresh air would clear her senses.

He couldn't win. Simply, strikingly, couldn't win. It was either the familiars, fate, or else the pure and simple hand of fate determined to keep him from having his fun...but oh well. Sometimes one had to deal with unanticipated annoyances, and one became a better Soquili for having overcome.

Disappointment over this latest turn of events was keenly felt by Guilian, but to show such would have been the height of discourtesy. Besides, the dreamcatcher was obviously an item of great importance for Nitika, and that alone made her concern HIS concern, at least as long as he was with her.

Stepping back away from the mare, Guilian glanced in the direction the two familiars had taken off, contemplating how far they might have gotten by this point and how long it would take to catch them. Such cruel fate, forcing him into such excursions...but such was life. Giving her a smile, Guilian gestured with a wing. "Well, if we are to search we must first set off, no?"

((*pats Guilian.... the writer for Nitika is an evil being, ne? *snugs Caj* wasn't sure if you wanted to continue or not, so I tried something new. You get tried of my weirdness just poke me razz ))

Nitika beamed with her eyes shimmering gratefully. She just didn't feel the same without her beloved dream catcher she'd known since her arrival to the world. Besides her mother told her it was a very precious object, and should be cherished at all costs. How could she face her own mother if she let that one thing, that one sediment be carted off by a slinky blue thieving mammal.

She knew it would sting like oh holy hell but she needed to fly and feel free as she would near the ocean. Everything was just to claustrophobic and demeaning to her poor contemplations and queries. But in all the red poetic stallion, how his words could soothe the savage beast, agreed to help her find it. And that was the one thing she desired more than anything. Not only to have her beloved memory back, but to be by the side of this large red beautiful being.

"After you" she smiled with a nod of her head sheepishly, "then lifted off the ground gritting her teeth, "Now that's more like it. Besides in the air we can spot blue slinking creatures chased by fluffy mammals, don't you think?"

Istas was furious that she had abandoned Nitika for this. And just what was it exactly. A damn mess that's what! She fumed as her claws struck foreign rocks chipping and scrapping what she kept in tip top condition. She would kick butt when she reached him. Oh yes indefinitely she would.

Stitch was getting tired of it, this game which was causing him to roll and trip with every step. No matter how he dragged it, the thing was just too big to handle. To top that off something other than the raccoon was following him, something that made his silky blue fur stand on end.

Eyes shining from a shadow eyed the blue rodent and the thing he pulled behind him. Which was more interesting? Was it the thing that looked like her own, or perhaps the fact she hadn't eaten in days and here of all things was a tasty morsel ripe for the plucking. Hunkering downward toward the ground, she twitched her long tail and waited for a moment to pounce. Maybe then she'd know which was intriguing her more.

((*grins at Rein* Twists are positive, and it's good for him to be thwarted from time to time xd ))

Chuckling, Guilian flung himself aloft with the natural grace that most winds seemed to possess, glancing back to make sure that Nitika was following him before heading out after the fleeing animals.

The wind rushing past his ears made it harder to hear than it would be were they both still on the ground, but he could at least make out the gist of what Nitika was saying, calling back to her, "Hopefully such is the case, Chica; at least this will let us get there faster, whereever there IS!"

Now then, if he was a blue ferret, where would he be running?

Stitch hissed and chattered his teeth with the fur raising on his hackles. Something was following him, and it was a bit bigger with teeth and claws. Tugging harder he lodged the object firmly between a well placed downed tree, somehow wrapping it in the branches the way he tugged and thwarted to release it.

"Nooooooo" he cried, "Stitch screwed um upsie big time be bona" he cried grasping it harder than ever.

Istas heard the pitiful cry and grinned. "You little pain in the soquili rump, I've found you" she beamed but stopped slowly to smell the air. There was a predator on the loose in the wood. One that seemed interested in a blue ferret distressed by his idiocy. She bit her lip and hid behind a tree hiding herself pondering what to do. If she announced she found the little a**, why the predator might just think her a meal. Then who would watch over Saissis' daughter if she was a permanent pelt with no insides. Heck her bones might be eaten too.

The creature leaned in toward a springing motion as she lunged out in the direct sunlight. A calico colored lion had frenzied eyes of blue and green hungry for something to fill her belly.

Nitika closed her eyes wisping those long ocean sky-tipped wings against the wind that cooled her. She forgot about the sting of flesh meeting air and just enjoyed herself. The most prestigious thing a winged could ever do was cherish those appendages upon their backs. So much freedom propelled within those massive creations.

"Agreed" she called up to him reaching exact height as he, "A little blue pest should be easy to spot... Oh my" she screeched pausing in midair.

Guilian had always enjoyed the sensation of flying; even while on a mission, he allowed himself a little bit of ease to actually enjoy what they were doing. There was something amazing and powerful wrapped up in the feeling of weightlessness, the rush of the wind as you climbed up and dove downwards....

And naturally, having someone to share that sensation with made it even better. Glancing sideways at Nitika, he laughed in agreement with her comment about Stitch, only to break off and jerk his attention downwards as Nitika shrieked without warning.

Those used to traveling by air tended to have keen vision as a rule, and when the thing one was looking at was as vibrant against the green grass as the blue ferret and spotty...mountain lion. Hrm. THAT didn't look promising, and blast the creature for trying to get itself eaten!

Still, there was only one thing to do in the circumstances, so, with the hope of heading Nitika off before she tried anything foolish, he was pulling back his wings and diving down towards the trouble.

~The lion licked her lips as she sailed through the air. She lost all recognition of time and place as her desire to hunt overcame her smooth senses. Claws outstretched she growled...

~Stitch continued to tug furiously finally breaking the string even further as he and it rolled out of the way of the attacking assailant.

~She skidded into the ground as the dust flew upward hissing with a lash of her multicolored tail. Luck had saved him but for how long she wondere
d.

~Stitch was literally terrified squeaking and huffing in his breath yanking the dream catcher along with him. It was a notion to let it lie, but he needed to keep going no matter what the cost.

~Istas was just totally upset with Stitch and the ravenous feline. Why couldn't everything, anything go her way for once. For crying out loud time was slowly edging away from her vigil over Nitika and Guilian. She wasn't thinking straight (When did she really when her fur was raised higher than her brain), so she jumped out to take on this cat full force.

Nitika whose eyes weren't very happy was ready to dive downward before she noticed Guilian diving toward the situation. Istas and Stitch were in horrible danger in the direct line of attack by a hungry lion. No this could be and she acted on it. Starting in a dive she barrel rolled herself down toward the speeding magnificent red form picking up speed with the fast paced wing beats she could muster.

Annoying as familiars could be, they served a purpose and were valid companions in their own right. Even if they WEREN'T necessarily bonded to a specific Soquili, they still had the right to...well, not be eaten and FIND a specific Soquili. In the case of Stitch, Guilian was sure that he'd ever be able to be a truly useful familiar...but even he didn't deserve to be eaten by a mountain lion.

Nor did Istas, and given her kamikaze death leap just now, she might just be eaten first.

Consequently, he knew even before he landed that he was going to be intervening, alighting heavily on the ground between the mountain lion and ferret with all the force he could muster, no small bit coming from a fully grown stallion. Hoping that Stitch would have the sense to stay back, he spread out his wings and generally puffed himself up as much as he could, scowling at the mountain lion and all but barking, "Back, you! These are no food for you, Cat!"

Nitika landed softly but yet her feet skid along the ground messy in a flutter of her wings losing unbalanced feathers. She ran with an unwavering motion screeching for Istas to hightail it out of the area.

"Istas for the love of the ocean you and Stitch run. We can handle this... what was it exactly that was odd about this feline starving for days. Could it possibly be the dream cather hanging freely about her neck? Was she a familiar too?

Istas stared down the cat with her paws upon her hips. She didn't care about kicking Stitch's a** anymore, this feline was taking her wrath right then and there damnit. She was fed up with leaving her vigil for god-knows-what every damn time something came amiss. First the red romeo, then stitch, then Guilian, then Stitch being an idiot, and now this lion. She couldn't handle it anymore. She wanted revenge on a silver platter. No holds barred there was serious a** kicking to be dealt when she got her chance.

Hearing Guilian and Nitika rattled her senses for a moment feeling quite unsure what to do. Grab Stitch and run? No she was going to handle this herself. No overgrown kittykat was going to... wait is that a? No it couldn't be.

The broken dream cathcr swayed in a zig zag motion behind the ferret as he bolted for recovery. Eyes, hungry eyes upon his little scared form.

Must run. Must hide. Big horsies come stomp stomp. What Stitch do now?

The lion whose pattern was of calico did indeed have a dream catcher waving about her neck. She was thrown into this world with no compassion, no food, and definitely no familiarity to anything. All she wanted was that blue rodent that was pulling something. Not the fluffy pillow, not those horses, just food upon her ragged belly. Was that too much to ask?

She hissed at everyone darting her eyes toward Stitch.
