"I'll just take this in, and-" DS paused, watching the two boys work on the couch.
Karan swapped his green crayon for a brighter pink one and started on the airplane. It was looking more like scribbles than anything else, but the scribbles at least stayed vaguely defined in the area of the shapes he was coloring. Not that the artist cared; he was having too much fun to notice much else. Still, he did pause a moment to point at the orangey dolphin before grabbing the blue.
"Coloring books. Why didn't I think of that?"

Waya glanced up when he heard DS, blinking cutely. "We coloring..." he stated the obvious. "That ok?"
Tipping his head to the side he'd glance at Karan and smile a little then look back at DS. "I'm watching him good?"

Karan was too absorbed in his work to notice anything, and grabbed yet another crayon, this one a deep purple.
"That's very nice of you." DS approached again, holding a tray of brownies. "I brought these for you boys, but we're almost done. Ballie's just reviewing some paperwork."
She paused for a moment. "Waya, how are you liking it here so far?"

Waya had begun to reach for a brownie but paused. The smile on his face at the offered treat faded, lips frowning instead. "I'm scared..." he said lightly, looking back down at the coloring book and poking at the picture with the crayon.
"If...." he bit his lip as he paused. "If Ballentine gets mad at me.." He looked up at DS again, worry on his face. "Will she send me away too? I must do something wrong if no one takes care of me for a long."

"No... no no no. That's not it at all. You've just had a run of some bad luck. Things have happened that caused your guardians to be unable to take care of you, but none of it was your fault. They all- Ballie too- want what's best for you. And they wouldn't if you had done something wrong."
"Now," she smirked, "are you going to eat that or not? It's good."
It was hard to believe, but Karan was starting to get tired of coloring. Maybe because the pictures were already there. But he was also just tired, and the fur was so soft and warm, it was hard to stay awake. Yawning, he leaned forward, bumping his head against Waya's arm.

He watched DS carefully, reaching up to rub his nose in thought. "You sure... no lies?" Though his doubt didn't seem to disappear. He was still unsure about the situation and if it really was his fault.
Feeling something against his arm, he'd glance at Karan and smiled lightly. "He's sleepy..." He pat the top of Karan's head lightly before once again reaching for a brownie. He'd take a small bite, not noticing the crumbs falling onto his book. "It's good!"

"No lies." DS reached for a brownie herself. "I'm not surprised he's tired. We should get home once Ballie finishes with those papers. And I'm glad you like it."
Something smelled yummy, but Karan couldn't see what. Fighting to keep his eyes open, he spotted a few crumbs and licked at one experimentally. Chocolate! Chocolate was the best!

Waya noticed the little lick, and giggled lightly. He'd break off a chunk of his brownie, waving it under the boy's face. "Mmmm brownie." he teased, but of course would let him have it.
Quickly before the boy would snatch it he glanced up to make sure it was ok with DS, or at least to read her expression before looking back down. "I will keep watching him till she's done."

DS nodded her approval. "Just don't let him have too much. It shouldn't be much longer, but I'm going to make sure she doesn't need any help."
Mmm, yummy! And even more chocolate! Karan grabbed for the chunk of brownie, cramming it into his mouth greedily. That woke him up sufficiently, and he tugged at Waya's arm, eyes pleading for more.

Waya smiled down at Karan, ears perking up a bit. "No more... you had some the rest is mine." He said, and in the blink of an eye the rest of the brownie was shoved into Waya's mouth, a smile on his face as he happily munched on the moist chocolate goodness.
Giggling with a mouth full he'd lightly poke Karan in the forehead. As if by magic, or at least a slight of hand trick, another small piece was held out to the boy's lips.

Wow, it was magic! Giggling, Karan leaned forward and chomped at the brownie, being as careful as he could not to bite the older boy's fingers. He'd made the mistake of trying to bite his own fingers once, and it hurt a whole lot.
He did manage to get the brownie, but he also leaned a little too far forward, and flopped face-first in Waya's lap with a muffled "uumph!"

Waya giggled lightly as he reached down, gently sitting the boy upright. "Be careful..." He muttered, wiping off a small smudge of chocolate from the corner of Karan's mouth. "We finish coloring before you have to go."

Aw, why did the big fluffy boy have to wipe some of the yumminess away? That was a bit disappointing, but if he had made more appear before, then he could do it again, right? Coloring forgotten, Karan looked up at Waya expectantly, waiting for more. This kind of game he liked a lot!

Waya himself licked that small bit of chocolate off from his finger, blinking down at the boy before cracking a small smile. "No more.. it's all gone." He said as he lifted both his hands to show they were infact empty.
"Are you all done coloring now?" He asked, gently lifting the boy up and more into his lap. "We can watch some tv if you are."

What? No more yumminess? That wasn't fair! The fluffy boy had made more appear, so he could do it again, right? He had to! Otherwise it just wasn't fair! Or maybe he was keeping it all for himself...
"Having fun?" DS grinned, leaning against the doorframe. "I'm glad to see you getting along so well, but we're going to have to get going soon." Even with Sirius in charge at home, having Xue almost alone wasn't a good idea. Hopefully she wouldn't find the walls repainted by the time she got back.
No fair. Karan folded his arms tightly and pouted. This wasn't fair at all.
