In 1999 when Counter Strike was new I played it frequently, along with Medal of Honor and Star Wars Jedi Outcast. My handle in those games was catholic_priest, which was meant to be both inflamatory and to illustrate my prowress at "raping" my opponents.
Later I started playing EverQuest and needed a name that sounded like it could be a roleplaying name, so I decided that my name would be "Cathl" and my surname would be "Icpriest." I've been Cathl on most places I visit on the internet ever since.
Incidentally, Cathl, it turns out, is the welsh word for song. It was somewhat of a great coincidence because the character I played in EverQuest was a druid, and his name was a druidic word.
My original Gaia account was just plain "cathl," but I've been banned quite a few times since then.

Isthene was the name of an OC of mine alloooonnnggg time ago.
And now I use it for just about everything.

Mine is Captain Reaction,
because ALWAYS have something to say.
and I don't always think out my thoughts before I say them outloud..
so my first reaction sometimes gets me in trouble.
John Mayer is one of my favorite artists, and in one of his songs is called,
"my stupid mouth"
and one of the lines he refers to himself as Captain Backfire
because he says things that get himself in trouble..

'Crinis' is Latin. I wanted something simple and unique, and I'm facinated with Latin names.
Crinis means ''the hair/tail of a comet. Or the sun''.
I'm a very bright person and am facinated by the combinations of the elements. Especially wind and fire. So, I choose this name to represent that.
It reflect the ambition of my spirit, I suppose.

Back in 2002, when I was still a high school freshman, I used to play Duke Nukem 3D on my old computer all the time. Then... I got my brand new computer. First thing I did? Download the Red Faction Worldwide Demo and start playing online like I always wanted! biggrin When I had the player config screen before me, it was time to think about a handle. So I thought about Duke Nukem 3D. In this game, you have to engage a nuke at the end of each level, which we used to call "Da Nuke". So I put "Da Nuke" as nickname... and well, you know the rest. whee
Just one note: my nickname is always, always, with an underscore. It's not "Da Nuke", it's "Da_Nuke". Why? 'Cause when I first joined a forum, I couldn't use spaces in my nickname, so I just threw in an underscore. I first didn't felt comfortable (and I once joined a forum as "Da Nuke"), but I ended up liking the underscore.

I got my name from a story I read a long time ago. Nightshade is a poisonous plant, I know, why pick it for name? It stuck with me long after I read the story. I guess, I just like the name.

I avoided doing this since I first joined because I don't really know how it happened! I'll do it in segments...
-The 69 is for the Cancer symbol since I am a Cancer.
-Pingo came from a random person on a teen chat room because I chose a penguin as my icon.
-I used to be incredibly cynical of the way the world is (and still am in ranting moods) so I'd talk of how I'd take over the world and employ secret agents to do my biddings, so I thought it sounded cool if I had my own name.
-It became Agent Pingo but I wanted to add the 69 so it was Agent Pingo 69
-I like the letter "x" because it's more mysterious, especially if you're an agent, so it was now Agent Pingo X69
-Last I came up with the Oo because it's a face I use a lot on IM when I'm freaked out by something. Big eye + small eye = cooler looking that just one or the other.
-I'm almost always using correct grammar so I make sure it's all capatalised. I can't remember if I wasn't allowed spaces or not on this site, but if it wasn't this site then it was another one where I couldn't use spaces.
I really like the name so it's stuck now!
