you forgot PRS guitars which are the best but some of the most costing. But of the ones that you have up there, Gibson all the way!

josh_strat why bother putting epiphone on if you have gibson? epi's are just gibson knock-offs arent they always? No, they're to Gibson what Squire is to Fender. They're just cheaper versions made with the same materials, but not as finely produced so you may need to tweak a few minor things to get them to sound really good. Like on my Squire Strat, all I needed was to adjust the bridge to make it sound as good as standard Fender Strat.

I have an Ibanez and a Fender Strat, and I love both of them. My Fender is a better guitar than the Ibanes, though. So I'd probably recommend a Fender...

There's really no "best" brand... It actually depends on your preferences... I like playing hard rock and stuff so Ibanez is the way to go for me, mainly. Don't know about other brands though... Fender and Gibson are two of the more well-known brands, but it doesn't mean they're the best.

My preference: All depends on what your going to play and/or your choice of play. I own the basic brands Fender, ESP, PRS, but for me getting a Gibson is more of an investment than actully getting a new guitar, so I'll wait for later. Just change the parameters of off-brand guitars and you can get a gibson feel, and sound for cheaper than actully getting the guitar. mrgreen

Sully E. I don't know what i should get next. I need sumthing for more of a metal sound. What should I get dudes? IMO ESP, Dean or maybe Schecter is the way to go for you. Some metal bands that use ESP: Metallica Children of Bodom Atreyu Megadeth Arch Enemy and like 100000 other bands. Dean just owns face and has amazing guitars. Schecter isn't too bad either.
