Everett ruffled his feathers. This chirra was just as bad as him, when he wasn't trying to finish something. He just ignored it and flew on. His ears were scoped to find any source of sound from possible dangers.

Keelin shook her head at Chael, "No it's my first time, but Pook has been here before." She said.
Pook was snoring, snot dripping out of his nose and forming a little bubble that moved with his breath.
Keelin shook her head, "Don't know how much help he will be. But I know there are mudges there and I have heard tales of dreadful nasties in that area. Once we reach there it is best to be quiet and on guard." She looked proud at herself for the knowledge she had.

Paige pouted at the owl ignoring her, she hated being ignored especially when she had such a good entrance, all that time spent trying and then being ignored, "grrr, stoopid feather dusta!" She flew up to the other creature hoping they would be astounded by her wonderful and rare talent of being hidden for so long.

"Call me names, you must not whoo whoo," Everett said. "Get left behind, you will." He flew a little lower, still looking for the flower.

Ichinaou seemed to sniff something similar to the flower and went closer in the brush, not really seeing what exactly was under it. As he got closer something had moved inside of the brush, him not paying very much attention to it, which he should have. Seconds later he yelped and jumped up running backwards a little bit. Something such as a scorpian had stung him on the nose. 'thats what I get for not paying attention' he thought to himself as he continued on shaking his head.

Chael nodded at Keelin's reply and kept moving on towards the marsh. "Well maybe Pook will sense when there are others like him or if there are dangerous marsh dwellers around. Do we need to be wary of the other mudges?"

Ichinaou rubbed his paw with his nose a little while later, that had really hurt. He looked up in the sky to see the flying ones searching below. He returned his nose to the ground being much more aware of what he was doing and how he was doing it. Before too long he had moved even deeper into the heart of the woods.

He climbed lazily upwards at the sound of faint wings in the area. When he spotted the other dragon, Nefar nearly smirked to himself. Then he quickly wiped all expression from his face. This would be amusing at least. With what he knew, the dragon had known that sooner or later someone would be trying to help the firebird. All he had to do was sit and way for activity. Although he was not the culprit, Nefar did know who was. Either way he was amused. Drifting over towards her, he tilted his head as he watched her for a moment, hovering briefly. "And what are you doing so far above the woods?" he asked. ((Nefar is talking directly to Edana))

The hawk flitted through the trees rapidly, spinning in and out amongst the branches, making evasions that looked as dangerous as they actually were and presenting an overall picture of a bird with a death wish. In fact he liked dangerous flying, derring-do and any type of adventuring to be had. To others he patiently pointed out that the reason he was able to do his job so well was because he was so fearless and intrepid. To this puffed up proclamation, the others generally said "bah" and called him a silly show off. He was quite indignant. He was NOT silly. Darting this way and that through the woods, he kept his eyes peeled for any of the searchers. Catching a hint of color out of his eye, he peeled off to that direction and skittered through. "Hey! Hey! Hey!" he greeted in his smoothest most sophisticated voice. A hero had to make a grand entrance, after all. "Never fear, the Ranger is here." ((This intro is towards the group with Everett.))

As Chael, and Keelin proceeded further in towards the marsh area, they noted that the trees that had once been so thriving and healthy had begun to take up a warped and sickly look. The verdantness under their feet also became a damp and stagnant mess that was not wholly mud, but nevertheless squealched when they walked.
Tattered vines draped amongst the trees as languid snakes coiled there. The very air became more fouled, methane and various other gases giving it a smell not unlike that of a faintly rotting egg.
The gases also obscured their view more, creeping about the ground as a heavy mist. It billowed away from them as they walked only to recollect about their feet like a hungry, eager thing.

Chael was not a proud creature, but all the same he thought to himself that he would be glad when he was able to walk through some fresh water to get the sludge off his fluffy hoofs. There were more important things to concentrate on right now however.
He glanced up as he thought he saw a large shadow cross the ground. Was he imagining things now or did he hear something flap off into the distance?

Keelin looked over to Chael. "Aw yes, Pook has told me many times to beware of mudges. A single mudge is not that bad to deal with, especially when they are obsessed with rotten things such as Pook." She grinned at the little mudge, still sleeping with the snot bubble still there. "But in the marshes they travel in packs and take down whoever they come across to eat them. I just hope Pook will be able to warn us so that dosn't happen." She looked worried, a very unusual expression to see on the usually carefree Keelin.
As she walked across the marsh she made bitter faces. "Goook, I don't see how Pook could live like this before. But I am geussing this is as pleasant to us as fresh air." She sighed at the thought. "ooh I can't wait until I find fresh air!' She continued her looking and glumpy walking.

((directed to Chael and Keelin))
As he glanced upwards, one of Chael's front hooves came down in something softer than expected. It sank in with a sucking sound throwing him slightly offbalance. In just an instant he was in up to his knees with both front feet.
Keelin turning at the sound, as her foot came down, slid slightly on something slippery. It moved slithering off into the water with a plop, but the damage was done. Suddenly she was sitting down in the soft gooey surface and sinking slightly.

Chael looked across at Keelin. "I would help you up, but I seem to be even more stuck than you." He pulled back, trying to disengage his front hooves from the sludge.

Do you know about a Jack pulpit flower? I've never seen one before...
