Madison rose almost immediatly and went after Obie. Catching up with her in the hallway she took a deep breath and stopped Obie with a touch to her shoulder.
"Obsidian. I'm so sorry. It was the hardest decision I have ever made in my life and one I have always regretted. I ... just ... I know there's nothing I can say that can make up for twenty years but I want you to know I am deeply sorry."

Obie stopped and covered her face with her hands. All she had ever wanted was a family to belong to and if she had only been born a few years later she would have had it.
"All those years..." she blurted, turning around to face her and throwing her hands down by her sides. "All the yelling and name calling and the neglect and hatred. They never wanted me! They hated me! All they ever told me was how you couldn't wait to get rid of me and it wasn't until their precious Isabel was born that they suddenly realized why you couldn't. Who could ever want me? The stupid dark haired girl that couldn't even live her life properly," she cried.

As Madison listened to her she felt sick. Sick to the core.
Breathing deeply to try and calm herself down she wanted nothing more than to take the girl in her arms and hug her tightly.
"I ... I didn't know." She said stupidly her hands shaking again as she gripped the banister for support.
"I wanted you Obsidian, but it wasn't a question of what I wanted, it was a question of what you needed ... and aparently I screwed up there too. I was sure they would look after you well. To know they didn't ... it makes me feel sick."
Not to mention like the worse person in the world. Not only had she given up her child, she had given her to abusive people.
"Don't say that Obsidian, please don't. It's not true. You are a beautiful girl and intelligent and you don't deserve anything that I or they have done to you."

Breathing deeply, Obie put a hand over her mouth, much the same way that Madison continually did. She hadn't meant to do that. She hadn't meant to say those things. But... it just wasn't fair. And it wasn't Madison's or Brad's fault. She understood their reasoning. It made brilliant sense really and she respected them for it. But it still made her sick to know what she could have had compared to what she had ended up with.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't... I didn't mean to say all of that," she said, tears rolling down her cheeks. "It's not your fault. There's no way you could have known. It's just that... all I've ever wanted... was this," she said weakly, lifting her hand to gesture to the warm, welcoming home. "All I ever wanted was a family," she said wiping her eyes.

Madison stepped towards Obie and wrapped her arms around her. Squeezing her tightly. It broke her heart to know that she had not known a loving family.
"Maybe, If you wanted you still could." She said stroking her hair as she had her own children many times. "I know it is a bit late, and you probably won't want to, but I want you to be part of our family."

Obie slipped her arms around her and buried her face into her shoulder. The closest thing she had ever had to this were the hugs that Lahleh had given her. At Madison's offer Obie sniffed and lifted her head to pull a little ways away so she could look into her face.
"But... the rest of your family... your children... What about them? Do they even know about me?" she asked. "Won't it be a bit of a shock to tell them they've now got an older sister?"

madison looked at her and smiled.
"They know now. Last night I was so stunned by your phone call I had to explain to my children." She smiled a little "They were shocked, at first, but then I think they were a little excited to meet you. Especially Sadie, she's always wanted a sister."
She was claming down now, now they had gotten the everything out of her system.
"Would you like to meet them?"

Obie sniffed again and wiped her cheeks with her fingers.
"Meet them?" she repeated. The thought honestly hadn't crossed her mind with everything else that had been running around in it just moments before. Nodding she sniffed again and wished she had brought her purse in so she could use her handkerchief. "I'd love to," she said, managing a small smile.

Madison smiled and looked down at Obsidian.
"If you like you can stay for dinner, they'll be home after school. We have a lot of catching up to do, and I need to introduce myself to this nice young man you've brought with you. I hope he doesn't think me too rude."

It was actually all a little surreal now. After all this time trying everything in her power to be accepted by the people who were supposed to be her family and love her no matter what, she had finally found them. When Madison brought up Ra, she once again felt that now familiar surge of warmth she got whenever she thought of him. If it hadn't been for him, she would have still been in Japan, wondering.
"Believe me. He met Nadine. You are far from rude in his eyes," she smirked a little and let her eyes wander over towards the living room. She felt a little bad having abandoned him, but she figured he was probably alright. "We'd love to stay for dinner though, if you're sure it will be alright?"

Madison frowned again at the mention of Nadine being not so nice.
"Of course it is alright." She smiled taking Obie's hand and squeezing it. "Shall we go and have some tea?" He asked leading her back into the living room.
She smiled at her husband as they returned and then to Ra.
"Sorry dear." She said to him. "My name is Madison, thank you for coming with Obsidian." She said holding her hand out to him.
Ra smiled in return and shook her hand.
"Rashne, it is really nice to meet you." he said turning to look at Obie and giving her a warm smile.

The day had fairly flown by. There really had been -so- much to catch up on. Obie was in the kitchen with Madison watching and helping her cook, almost as if she had been doing it forever. When the front door slammed open and three loud voices started to fill the house, each trying to talk over the other, Obie's heart stopped for a moment. Sure Madison had said they were excited to meet her, but that had been before she had been real to them. Running her hand nervously over her hair, she glanced to Maddie with a small smile.
"Hey Mom, coach wants us to go back to the school at seven for a..." Gabriel had started to say as he walked into the kitchen, but stopped abruptly at the sight of Obie only to be rammed into by Andrew.
"Hey!" Andrew called out in surprise at having run into his brother's back.
"She's here!" Sadie cried out and pushed both boys out of the way to step into the kitchen and walk over to her mother and now older sister. "I'm Sadie. I'm so happy to meet you," she grinned and moved to wrap her arms around the older girl.
Obie blinked in complete surprise as she was suddenly enveloped in the younger girl's arms. Smiling a little she put her arms around her to return her hug.
"I'm happy to meet you too Sadie. Ya'll can call me Obie," she smiled at her and then up at the boys.

Ra was in the living room still, he had been feeling a bit lost. Nervous about this new house and nervous about the fact that these were Obie's real parents.
Luckily he and Brad had managed to find the common ground of soccer. They had been talking about the past world cup when Ra heard other voices in the hallway.
These made him even more nervous. Obie's siblings. More people to have to impress.
Madison smiled as her children walked into the kitchen. A smile that grew wider as Sadie hugged Obsidian.
"At seven for what dear?" She asked, wiping her hands on her apron and beckoning her boys into the kitchen. "Come and say hi to your sister."

Gabriel smiled and stepped into the kitchen. Grabbing a cookie with one hand, he reached out with the other to Obie.
"It's nice to meet you Obie, I'm Gabe," he grinned and shook her hand then looked to Maddie. "Coach wanted us to go back to the school for a little extra training," he said, running a hand over his black hair. He then turned his midnight eyes back to the young woman who was still being clung to by his baby sister. It was a bit surreal to see a female version of himself and she looked just like their mother.
Andrew hung back a little at the doorway and eyed the scene for a moment. He thought it was a bit odd that suddenly they had this older sister that had appeared out of nowhere.
"Hey," he said nodding his head a little at her. "I'm Drew."
Obie was a bit overwhelmed by Sadie's show of affection towards her and smiled warmly at Gabe's warm reception of her. At Drew's simple introduction, she smirked a little at him. She had a feeling Maddie might get onto him for being less receptive towards her, but he immediately won her over. Just in the way he stood and studied her, he reminded her a lot of herself.
"I'm very happy to meet all of ya'll," she said, sending her warm smile towards Drew. "Ne-chan... come into the kitchen," she called out with a smile.

Ra smiled nervously to Brad and turned towards the kitchen. He smiled at the younger of the two boys who was hiding in the doorway and then to the older brother and smirked as he saw the younger girl attatched to Obie.
"Hello." He said with the warmest smile he could give.
Madison smiled at Gabe and then at Drew. He had always been the shy one. She watched her children for a moment and felt complete. Something she hadn't felt since the day she had give Obie up. It had always been as if a piece of her was missing. Now she was here everything seemed to right.
