I watch the tears rolling down Dees cheeks with nothing more than a morbid curiousity. I do not understand what she's trying to get me to do. Express sympathy perhaps?
A small smirk flickers across my face at the notion of it. I've made it my business not to express sympathy.
Sympathy is a way to tell others that weakness is okay.
"I told you I'm not going to battle you." I repeat for what feels like the thousandth time. "I don't care if you think you can... I don't even know what you're trying to do. If you want to annoy me it's working."
I look around for a suitable wall to lean on and compose my 'cooler-than-you' look. It also has the added effect of making most people forget I'm here. A very handy thing.
I look over at Dee and mentally sigh. I highly doubt she'll leave me and my headache alone.

Just then a boy of 20 walks in. He has a look of anger on his face. The boy known as Will (me) says, "You trying to hurt my mom, eh? She says she likes you. And she made this lounge in your honor. The least you could do is get one thing from here! And she had kindly asked you for a battle because it is what you do for a living! She thought it would be cool to battle with someone who is better than her. She is trying to say in every way that she knows how that she likes you despite your meanness. She thinks you are the man! She knows of you being a mean young sour pickle, but she finds that interesting because her Saiyan blood likes a good challenge! She wants to test her skills with yours. She figures she might lose, but then at least if she does, then she will leave you alone. So unless you do not want this nightmare of yours to end, as you are putting your tude in that direction, you will battle my mother, you will beat her and show everyone that no one messes with Kai. And if you do not battle her, then you are no beyblader, because a true beyblader never backs away from a challenge. Just imagine what Boris would think of you, or the people at the Abbey...imagine people saying..."Kai walks away from a fair challenge! The greatest coward in the History of Beyblading!" I don't think you want that reputation Kai! I want to know you as a man who never backs down from a challenge, even though it may seem worthless to you. Well if it is so worthless then prove it or are you all talk and no action?!"

I then look up at my son then to Kai. I say to Kai, "Then answer me this, why does it annoy you so much that all I want from you is one battle? why does it annoy you that I think you are the greatest person ever? Why won't you battle with me? My son is right if you walk away from this, you are not a beyblader at all. And I could tell everyone that and no one will think you are cool. I know that your all about reputation, Kai, but don't you want a better rep? Like don't you want news headlines to read, "Pathetic fan tries to battle Kai and loses to him" or "Kai wins yet another beybattle"? I can see headlines if you walk away from this, "Kai, nothing but a loser" and "Kai a fraud in the sport of beyblading". I do not want to see the headlines of the nothing but a loser...I want to see a headline like Pathetic fans challenges Kai and loses. It is a fair battle...and rarely do you ever get a fair challenge such as this. Am i right? I might not be worth your time, Kai, but please...and if you say no one more time, then I will go to the presses and blab to them that you are nothing but a worthless wannabe. Because I will explain to them how I presented a fair beychallenge to you and you turned me down."

I am sitting at the bar with an emotionless face, good grief i didn't expect this to happen... I think i also had know idea she had a kid! the more the merrier, so some say. "you to are gonna give echother a headack that can't be cured at this rate." i sigh.

I roll my eyes at both Will and Dee. "Do you think I give a flying ******** in space about what the press says about me?" I ask calmly- quite a feat if I say so myself.
I then turn to Will. "If your mother thinks that she might lose then she will I'm not going to accept her challenge because I simply don't want to I'm Not interested in fighting her and doing so would degrade me"
I then turn to Dee. "As for You. First you basically attack me with your Beyblade and demand a challenge without any decorum or sense of style. Then You call me a coward for recognising you as an amateur and naming you as such. Then you’ve become insulted when I refuse to actually go through with a challenge. Your son has come in and been furious at me for giving you no more respect than you’ve given me and now you’re threatening to go to the press and tell them about how I refused to fight you.”
I take a breath. “Now. Can we see why you annoy me? You haven’t introduced yourself to me and yet you tell me of your undying love for me. The words ‘ridiculous come to mind.”
I mentally sigh and rub my head, trying to alleviate the headache that has turned from a mild one to a raging monster of a headache. Maybe I should have just not gotten out of bed this morning.
((Now, my turn. What the hell do you want from me?!? Do you want Kai? Or do you want a mutilated-by-fanboy/fangirlism version of him. What do you want me to do? Everything that I do in Kai's character is rejected by you and now you’re ganging up on me with your ‘son’.
As much as doing exactly what canon Kai would do, as opposed to what I assume is your dream-Kai would do, amuses me to no end it’s getting old.))

My eyes flick from Kai to the other two. I've had my arms folded the whole time as i watched.
I stopped grinning a long time ago and am now frowning.
This is just getting out of control.
I stand up from my position leaning against the door and walk forward towards the group a bit. I may just be digging my grave here but, eh, i don't care.
"What makes him a coward for refusing to battle? Is that in the rule book? I can see the headlines now if he refuses; "Cat gets stuck in tree", "Many run ovver by boat". The world will not care. It's not even an official battle. In fact, Kai refusing one challenge would be normal, nothing to get upset about."
I take a moment to look over at the two, my eyes narrowed.
"He has every right to say no. You two are acting like children. If you love him so much, why don't you respect his decision to say no?
"I may take great joy from annoying the guy but there isn't any doubt in my mind what he is. A beyblader, and he will always be one. I don't know about you, but i've seen him in action. All those tournaments are evidence to that."
I look at out of the corner of my eye. "And if he walks way from this, people will still think he's cool, they will still idolize him and they will still think he is one of the greater beybladers."
I shrug. "And that's the way it will always be."

I nod in acknowledgement and thanks to Taki- as much as he annoys me by simply breathing it's good to have someone on my side.

I then sigh, "I suppose you are right. I cannot force you to beybattle. By the way, my name is Empress dee. I do still have a lot to learn. I suppose this inn was a joke. Just one stupid attempt at making one person happy, but I see that I have failed."
With a snap of my fingers, the inn catches fire. "Now if you people want to live, I suggest you leave here. Will, I am sorry son, you tried your best, but as I see, I am not wanted here, so I will burn along with the inn. Since I cannot impress Kai, there is no more reason to live for me."

My hand instantly goes to my forehead making an impressive 'whack' sound.
I walk over to Dee and grab hold of the part of her arm between her elbow and her shoulder. "See? And now I think you're annoying and stupid." I mutter under my breath as I walk quickly out of the inn, dragging her with me.
I trust that everyone else can get out without me dragging them

I grab redworld and head for the door, a little annoyed i ask "are you trying to kill every one?" i think that was stupid that she wanted to kill herself for a guy just because she coulden't make him happy.
I set red world down next to Dee and sigh. "Would you like me to put that out before the damage gets realy bad?"

I sigh and say, "I cannot impress you Kai, so why live? You are the only reason that I live now. And yet you think I am annoying and stupid and probably a million other things you can think of but cannot say. This is what happens when you are mean to people, Kai!"
I end up releasing myself from Kai's grip and allow myself to go back into the burning building.

I look over at Dee. "No, this it what happens when people are childish. This is about the thinking of a normal three-year-old. I'm sure you've seen kids trying to hold their breath until they get something. That is the equivelent of what you're doing."
I sigh and sit down on the grass outside the inn. "If you die now there's going to be no one who gives a damn. Mostly because You cause this. Not me. I refuse to feel guilty about your actions."

I then say with my mind, "I am not asking you to feel guilty, for it is my choice. I failed in my mission and this is my choice in how to deal with this. It may be no better than what a three year old would do, but I choose to do this. There is only one regret I have and that is, I was not able to melt the ice within your heart. I am not sad nor angry. I choose to die for I have no more reason to live, and that is it. I am sorry, Kai."
