the japanese is best, but the english dub for gensomaden saiyuki was actually pretty good. greg is funny as hell (and the hair...good god the hair...)

I haven't seen it in Japanese, but I usually like watching any Japanese thing in Japanese with English subs.

I usually dislike any sort of dub, mainly because I just like watching/reading the original (one of the reasons why my room is stocked high with Japanese manga). I think the eng dub is generally the WORST dub of them all.
Just look at what they did to cool series like One Piece and Naruto. Sanji sounds like a cow, (and his voice actor is actually called David Moo) when in the Japanese he has Hirata Hiroaki, the same voice actor as Gojyo. They are both chain smokers and womanisers...
I expected the eng dub of Saiyuki to be really really really bad...but it's actually pretty good comparatively. The only thing I don't like is how they change the way Hakkai speaks...they make him all gangster-wannabe.
And Sanzo actually sounded pretty cool in the dub. (I swear, I'm gonna kill myself for admitting this later...)
Except, they killed it with the Saiyuki Reload. WHY DID THEY CHANGE VOICE ACTORS?! IT WAS SCREWED UP ENOUGH BEFORE!!
So yeah...Japanese is definitely better.

I think the anime did a wonderful job of making the voices close to the original. Gojyo's English voice makes me swoon and Greg Ayres is AMAZING for Goku. Though I like Sanzo's Japanese voice better, I think all-in-all they both run pretty equal for me.

I really like them both, but it depends on which series I'm watching. Overall, I always prefer dubs because it hurts my eyes to read the subs sometimes (I need glasses), and I actually like most (most, mind you) of the voices they tend to pick.
The original Gensoumaden Saiyuki- I say take your pick! I preferred the English version because of the added jokes and their voices (especially Goku, Gojyo, and Kougaiji's (Vic!!!!)) were amazing.
Reload and Reload Gunlock, on the other hand.... not so much. Geneon didn't even ask the original cast to come back, but I did like Kami-sama's actor as well as Nii and Goku's new voices. But I still say the Japanese audio was just a tad bit better.

usually I like the Japanes version much better when it comes to anime, the Japenese version is more original, somtimes the English dubbed version translate the Japanese veriosn wrong and there is thing when it comes to Shonen animes, the English dubbed love to say the word "aint" which bothers, because "aint" is not proper english! it's annoying just hearing that word
