As he was kicked, the octopus reeled back with a cry of pain. One tentacle remained wrapped tightly around her ankle, though, and as he surfaced, he hissed angrilly, "Rough, eh? Tha' so?" That said, he swung his many limbs around in the water, propelling himself closer to the center of the lake where the water was it's deepest, dragging her behind him.

Maryke thought she was out, thought just a few more feet of crawling away and she could get out of this mess. But she had failed to notice the tentacle around her ankle and before she knew it her face had slammed into the mud as he dragged her back. She spat and coughed again, trying so hard not to puke as her tongue and mouth was assualt with the taste of mud and grime and coppery blood as her face scraped over little jagged rocks. Not enough to actually do much damage, but tiny little pinpricks that stung.

Mary done did a bad bad thing, as she now found herself once more....in the water. And this time it was much deeper then before. She was dragged into it at first, but once more took to kicking so sustain her face above the water. She was weary though, but she was also a fighter. So she continued to kick and move her arms, finally able to keep herself afloat without any of the frantic pace she'd done when was first dragged in.

"Yeah...." she manged in a slow murmur with short breaths, barely able to keep her neck out, sinking under the water, then kicking harder to get her face out once more. "That's...right...."

It was evident the man had spent far too much time alone, his logic seeming off kilter and random- but it made sence to him, which is all that mattered on his end. "Y'tink yer better'n me, s'tha' it? Y't'ink yer so good cause yer a mammal?" He let her tread water, but kept the tentacle around her ankle just in case- he wasn't finished with her just yet. So long as she didn't make too much of a scene, he doubted the labs would zap him for just *playing*- at least he hoped so. She didn't seem outwardly phased by his roughness, in fact from what he could tell, she seemed to be enjoying it. Well, fine. He swam around her, letting the limb about her ankle coil tighter befor he moved in, once more attempting the invasive root.

She bobbed down under the water and then kicked back up, just now noticing she had lost a sandal when at this kick she lost her other. Both of them falling towards the murky depths of the lake at the bottom, maybe to never been seen again. Oh she was just his play thing now, and maybe he'd play so much he'd kill her. She didn't know, but she kept on struggling. Like her nature, she was going down swinging.

"It's not because....I'm...a mammal that...I think..I'm better ...," she managed, words spoken between heavy breaths, "It's because...I am..."

With that her head dipped back under the water once more despite how much closer he had become. This time however she didn't return to the surface. When she and her sister were younger they use to have 'breath holding' contests in the local swimming pool. Maryke thought about that now as she squeazed her eyes shut under the water, her limbs and head going slack as she feinted passing out.

She too could play games.

In Billy's maddened frantic moment, the octopus seemed to crawl back into his head, tentacles pushing his buttons untill it was completely in control. Limp, dead weight in his arms- fresh food? Soft flesh- a really big fish. Wounded mantle opening still suckling at the water to breath, he looked over her, grip tightening befor he finally sank his sharp, half formed beak into her shoulder.

The madam had not been expecting that. Was there no humanity left in him? She didn't have time to answer the question. She could hear a distinct noise of a 'crunch' before she even felt the pain. No there probably was no sound heard under the water and it was probably all in her head, but she heard it anyway. Then came the pain. It was as if someone just just stabbed her in the shoulder and she felt the flesh, HER flesh being pulled away.

She screamed.

But, she was still under water. So because of this tiny little factor she got a throat and lung full of water. Why the HELL did she think she could play this game, it wasn't like anything she was used to. This was the wild, and in her world, she was the one who chessmaster, but out here...she had no ******** idea what move to make next. She flailed, her motions slow, plainfully slow as she widened her hazel eyes and tryed to claw for air. At him, at the water, the mud, at anything she could find. Slowly but surely her eyelids felt heavy and the already blurred form of the lake blurred and blurred more until her head felt hazy, barely clinging on to consciousness.

It was at this point that the good men at the labs seemed to notice things were not going as they should have been- this wasn't just a game, judging by the increased heartrate, and the octopus didn't have time to rip his bite clear from her body befor his own spasmed with the tell-tail tingle of the chip implanted in his head. His tentacles flailed around her, instinct letting loose a fresh cloud of black ink befor the lake monster went still, floating around her unconcious.

Drowning....drowing.......oh god I'm dro..... Went her mantra of thought before one solitary ray of light seemed to break through the murky waters to get to her. She felt his hold loosen and instantly she shot back up, head splashing out of the water as she gasped and coughed and spat up whatever water had made its way into her system. Her hair was dirty and matted to her head, and her once silky white fur was now dirty and mud clung to them.

She blinked and then looked over at the still body of the octopus man. Seconds turned into minutes as her mind stopped being water logged, with her kicking every so often to keep from sinking. She let out a wild shriek then, it was feral and sounded very much inhuman. Was it the lemur? Or did it come from her own dark places within her mind? Human qualities she'd tried so hard to keep down, hidden to never be found. Who could say.

All she knew was this son of b***h was out cold and she was going to take advantage of it. She shrieked again and then hit at his floating body with her good arm, hitting whatever she could get her balled fist on, again and again. But in her weakened state her motions were barely even there, too small for even she to feel. So she swam away, as fast as her good arm and tired legs could take her. Once out, she crawled and clawed onto the bank, then rolled over and picked herself up.

She stood there a moment, watching his form until she muttered something incoherrant under her breath and walked over to his wheelchair, giving it one solid push to get it into the lake. Once she felt she done a good job she began hurrying away, as fast as she could go anyway. Clinging onto her shoulder with her other hand all the while, while blood spurted through.
