I know it's been a while since I drew these, but now that I think about it, I really should share the four Christmas pics I managed to rush off in the week before Christmas last year for some friends. I wanted to do more, but Christmas extremely hectic last year, and I'm hoping for a MUCH quieter one this year.

Apart from one since, these are the last pictures I've completed. I've never gotten round to drawing while at university, which is a shame, but I hope to churn out more drawings over the summer so I don't get rusty.

Enjoy!

CJ dressed in plate armour with a lightsaber. Sounds like a lethal combination, ne? Or could it mean something more...? Well, only CJ and I know the answer! Ha! The photo in the background was taken by me one evening last autumn on the Stirling University campus.

Darth Acerbus--a big improvement on the first pic I did of her too. The photo was taken by me by Airthrey Loch on the Stirling University campus some time last autumn. I think I got the date on the picture wrong, however, as the 19th and 20th can't have both been Mondays last December. :p

Kompi. I've drawn him twice before, but this time I think I did a much better job (not least because the colouring is nicer). Again, the photo is from the University campus. As I recall, I was trying to take a photo of a squirrel, which darted away just as I pressed the button, leaving a squirrely blur in the middle of the picture. You can't see it now, because I stuck Kompi on top of it. :p

Katsuni! I've drawn her several times before, but this is definitely my best pic of her to date and my first (and thus far, only) pic of her that I've coloured in PSP. The photo, again, came from the University campus--this time, I was trying to take a photo of a rabbit through the trees, which turned out very small in the actual picture and is here covered up by Katsuni.

I hope you like these pictures. For the record, it is now one year since I first coloured a picture in PSP, and I've never looked back. biggrin

Expect more soonish!

Ahhh, PSP.

Chalk me up as another user. I once did, as Nuala put it, aquire Photoshop, but simply found it, I dunno, unlikable. PSP is much nicer, despite version 8's highly annoying script errors }=

Onto the drawings!

Exxcelent work, and you seem to have shwon improvement since you started the thread, in your poses particularly, which seem far more vibrant. Your basic proportions all seem good, and all in all, the linart is snazzy, the colouring is a nice simple, effective style, and the lightsabers all look kewl.

One thing I would point out though, is the contrast between the stark catoons and the real photographs on the christmas card pictures. Mayhap they would blend better if the photos were blurred, or put through a filter giving a cartoony style? Either that, or airbrusing on some character shadows, and grass in front of the boots?

Also, a thin CJ? Blasphemy! =P=P

Keep up tha goo work!

I'm experimenting with Photoshop CS at the moment. I don't know whether or not CS2 has an easier interface or I'm just unused to dealing with it, but I'm not sure that I'm going to be able to get a grip on all of that raw power without PSP's user-friendliness.

Oh my holy God! It's time for a new pic (or two) by Eon!

Yes, I know, I haven't been here for absolutely ages, but hey, I haven't done much on many forums for ages, so it's not this place. I like this place. And now I have pictures for this place to enjoy (I hope).

The first is one I drew in September, which is, like, one of two hand drawn pics I actually finished last year. I wish I'd drawn more, but I didn't, and this is the one I have to show you:

User Image

Assuming this gets distorted, you can click here to see the full pic.

This pic is of Kari-Ya (or Darth Filious), who is the daughter of Empress Sora-Ya in my comic and a Sith apprentice to Darth Acerbus. Even though I created her in 2003, it wasn't until last September that I actually drew her.

This next picture I drew this week and just finished colouring in PSP today.

User Image

Again, if it gets distorted, go here.

This one is another first; it's a pic of Serena Darkstorm, the first Jedi character to appear in my comic, who I also created and made sprites for a long time before I got around to drawing her. I think this is definitely the better of the two and I'm very pleased with the results.

I hope to draw more pictures in future, hopefully something like one a week if I can. 3nodding

Looks likes you're trying cell shading now, which is a different and I can think, sometimes a harder shade style to get just right.

It looks more obvious on Serena, the three different colours, particually the tail and shoes, something just doesn't look right there. I don't know what it is, but it's something with the blending, or perhaps just how the picture has been resized. the thing is, they work elsewheres! oo;

As always, your saber colouring skills are top notch...makes me feel proud to have an Eon saber modelled after my actual Parksaber. = ^-^ =

You're definitely improving in your ability to draw different, more varied poses and as always, you are mastering the art of making your chars fit in with their background. Thats a big + for me.

Jolly good stuff, though I will admit, this is a different take on Serena, she looks different in the comic...more...focused, less calm...?

I like the shading and the pictures as a whole.

That's probably because expressions are limited with sprites and one pixel can make all the difference. But this is how I tend to picture Serena.

Well, you're in luck then! I did this one last weekend:

User Image

I actually drew this picture in late 2005, but only just got round to colouring it today. Originally, the outfit would've been grey, and I did contemplate colouring it in navy blue the same way it appears in my comic, but I decided to go for white instead, as this is the colour Eon's usual outfit will (or may) be next.

The background is a photo taken on the campus at the University of Stirling last summer.

I hope to draw something this weekend too, though I may decide instead tp push ahead with issue #500 of my comic. I'd like to get that done before I need to start writing my first essays of the semester.

I really like this character. I like all your characters however. The outfit design has a resemblance to a cross between Darth Vader's cape and a Grand Moff's uniform. I think that it should have the slight gray to it. Plain white would be boring in it's own respect. Off-white/really light gray (grey) works quite well, and I think that it makes quite a nice contrast with his cape. the red shoes add a lot, making the character seem a bit evil to say the least, dark in looks, but perhaps not evil at all. The colors make you wonder if he's really good or evil. There's nothing negative coming from me certainly not. wink 3nodding

Well, actually, he's not supposed to be evil at all.

It'd make for an annoying gag on the character's behalf if you used these darker colors and they'd say things like "You're evil aren't you? I can tell by the clothing you're wearing" or something to that extent. There'd be this really annoyed face, or disgruntled face pictured...Though that, in pixel form, would take complete days to capture just the right way, unless you already had a plan on how to do it. I'm sure though if you've done pixel stuff as long as you, you could certainly whip something like that up pretty fast. Wow, this is a lot of typing. My work here is done. sweatdrop
