"She doesn't need a reason to help people; many of us fail to understand why she does somethings - including those that are closest to her." Roan growled as he finally approached once more and motioned to the concoction still steaming within the bowl, "Just drink it." He ordered as he sat down on the edge of the bed once more and raised a brow - one could see that he was a rather delicate creature who had suffered little physical exersion.
He was a well dressed being, clad in black robes with his long ebony hair clamped back within what appeared to be a platinum clamp that looked like a roaring dragon of some sorts, or at least a very angry dragon to say the least. All in all, he looked as though he were a mage or magically inclined but aside from the ability to brew potions he didn't appear to have any other skills in the arcane.
"When you've drank it we can get on with this and perhaps Cordelia will have returned by then." He mused, grimacing lightly as he thought back to the name 'Dune'; why would she have called herself something so peculiar?

Roger shook his head once more, "No... just heal me..." he told her, refusing to drink the brew, "I don't care.... about the pain... I don't do that stuff... ever..." he explained, well, sort of. He tried to sit up on the bed, since the man obviously seemed unwilling to help him, but failed miserably, falling back down halfway up. He bit his teeth together. and was about to try again.

"Well if you would like to experience thousands of needles tearing into your skin repeatedly while being forced to remain completely still then I will proceed without the herbs." Roan replied smoothly, shaking his head at the stubborness of the man and he sincerely doubted that said man could actually remain still during the process of the healing - that being said, Roan had very little choice other than to do the following:
He rose to his feet and calmly approached the shelves where a number of very heavy books lay, there he extracted on of a particularly heavy weight and approached his patient once more, he remained still from then on but the moment that the man tried to sit up again he was going to smash him upside the head with the book - hopefully it would knock him out...

Roger of course, seemed not to understand what he was doing. Regardless of the vieled threat of pain, he struggled, and tried to sit up again. His eyes were closed as he strained his weakened muscles, and thus, had no chance to see that heavy tome coming at him. It clocked him upside the head, and he fell back to the bed like a sack of potatoes. He was very much out cold.

Well, that worked out well and after a few moments the healer gathered his thinks and set to work removing the gentleman's clothes and then beginning to patch up his wounds, in the process he muttered a few apologies to the gods, Cordelia (for punching her new plaything) and anyone else that he may have offended in the process of knocking out his patient but then again, what else was he meant to do?
Nevertheless, he was certain that the poor man would make up with a cracking headache but on his head it be - literally. He worked swiftly as he continued to mull over his own thoughts, smiling at the rather snide ones on occasions before nodding with satisfaction until at last he had completed his work and returned to his armchair; he would time how long it took the man to wake up and how long it would take him to realise the pain he would be in...

"Ow..." the man muttered, as he slowly stirred, the force of the book blow still reverberating in his head. He was laying still, the only other sign he was awake, was an opening of his eyes. He could feel the pain, from dozens of wounds, where he had been beaten and now patched up. Still he didn't regret the man's offer of a draught to deaden him though.

Roan was about to welcome his patient back to the real world when the door opened once more and the rogue in question entered the room, now reclothed in a dress as opposed to her traditional and relatively masculine clothing - it was either possible that she wasn't in the mood to wear such clothes or she didn't have any left due to the fact that Roger had covered much of her clothing in blood.
"All better?" She chirped at last, a bright smile plastered over her lips due to the fact that she wasn't even wearing her mask!
In reply, the healer simply grunted from his place in the armchair and left the rogue to gaze between the two suspiciously, although she did raise a brow at the scantily clothed Roger - evidently Roan hadn't redressed him for fear of aggrivating the tender wounds...

Roger's head rolled over, so he could look at the voice. It was Dune. Finally he could recognize her, now that blood wasn't running into his eyes, and the pain was a little less. He smiled at her, as best as he could, "I'll... be fine... it's not the first time it happened... not even the worst punishment I've gotten..." he told her, even as the words she spoke to him rang in his mind, haunting him, as he imagined a very bleak, though apparently fun, future for himself...

"Is that why you're so submissive?" The rogue persisted as she leant in the doorframe and blocked many of those who were moving in and out of the underground sanctuary from view - it was evident that a many hundred beings lived here in secret and after a few moments she stepped inside and shut the door, her brow raising slightly higher.
"What did he mean when he called you his possession?" She continued, approaching the bed that she took a seat upon and placed her hands in her lap, glancing only briefly at the now sulking healer in the corner - she would deal with him later when she had uncovered this little mystery...

Roger frowned as the woman sat on the corner of his bed, finally bothering to speak his mind, "Um... Dune... I... I know I owe ya... but... um... and I'm flattered... but... I... um... rather... find something else.. you know... to pay you off..." he whispered and stammered at the same time, finding it quite hard to say, especially to her this close, and without her mask. She was actually human under that mask, and she seemed, almost normal when she first came in.

"...What?" Dune enquired in a tone of absolute confusion, her smile faltering as she attempted to uncover exactly what he was talking about but she appeared to be coming up with blanks at that present moment in time and was about to ask him exactly what he meant when -
"Apparently you referred to nightly activities to -"
"Ooooh," Roan hadn't even finished and already the point had arisen in her mind as she recollected her conversation with the peculiar man in the alleyway and the way in which she had gotten ridden of him for the time being which had been by faking interest...well that explained both the grumpy healer and the strange reaction she received from the Roger.
"Oh you musn't have heard the entire conversation." She mused and gave a slight snicker, "The only way that I could remove your rather possessive attacker was to point out that if he owned you then he was indebted to me - I called in my debt by telling him to leave immediately and when he asked for you I called in my second debt claiming that he couldn't possibly understand the desires of a woman."
She shook her head at this and turned her gaze towards Roan pointedly who appeared to be recovering rather well after he had discovered the truth behind the situation.
"He left rather quickly after that and I brought you here to recover. Now on to more important matters, how was he and why was he causing such a disturbance in my domain?"

Roger seemed to relax as well, as everything was explained. It did make a little bit of sense, after all, now that he had heard it out. And it definately stopped him from seeing Dune in that light at the moment. Slowly he nodded, just slightly, before he explained.
"Um... he's well... my guardian of sorts..." Roger explained, "He feeds me, clothes, me, raised me... and I just... well... do as he says... when he says... and so on..."
"He was angry... I... um... spent too much time away... I was supposed to handle some high rollers coming in... and... I wasn't there..."

"He seems reasonably intelligent, can't he have done that himself?" She persisted, taking the tea offered to her by the healer as he proceeded to clean up the ingredients he had used earlier without telling anyone that he had actually knocked the poor man out instead of force feeding him the drug - well, in ways he could call this kinder as very few enjoyed being paralysed as they saw scalpals and needles moving towards them.
"Or is he a drunken bum who cannot even organise something so simple, you do realise that everyone has the right to a social life and he does not own you - he simply raised you and you are of an age where you can leave and go elsewhere." She pointed out as she brought the cup to her lips and sipped her tea quietly, allowing the points raised to sink into the healer's patient.

"um..." Roger said, shaking his head, "He's not the type... to just let someone go... He's... well..." Roger said, cutting himself off since he was going to say 'like you' from what he guessed the woman did, but knew a little better than to make that comparison. Instead he continued with, "... someone who doesn't like losing... he... um..." he muttered, and looked over to the healer, before whispering, "knows about the temple..."

"So does everyone in this sanctuary." Dune replied calmly as she rose to her feet and sought out the teapot that Roan had used to pour the tea, she was silent during this time as she proceeded to make herself a little more at home and then she returned to her seat again, "However the people here are under expressed orders not to approach - in relation to your friend however." She pursed her lips and then gave a very slight shrug as if she was thinking.
"If he goes to the temple and offends then I sincerely doubt that the wraith guarding that crystal, the ghost or the zombie will give him a very pleasant welcome - he could find himself dead." She raised a brow and took another sip of her tree as the healer continued to bustlearound her, she seemed to trust said man enough to speak openly in his presence.
"You have to stop taking it upon yourself to defend that temple in it's entirity as you cannot do it - besides, the undead are some of the best guards you can get." She assured as if she knew from personal experience.
