After a few close calls with the many Aqua grunts among the town, and a sad realization that most if not all of the townspeople had resorted to holing themselves up in their homes rather than face off against the intruders who so easily had taken over the town, Sylam came to the museum, where he had remained as a sort of home base for the time being. Seated cross-legged on the top of the roof, Sylam gazed over the town, taking note of where the Aquas were, and where they were searching.
"Close, but they still haven't found it," he sighed in relief, marking the location in his line of sight where he knew the artifact lay.
There were some benefits of being a quiet observer, you oftentimes noted locations where no one else would know to look.
The Glaceon, Artemis, lay at his side, silent as always but keeping a keen watch, his cold gaze sliding over the city as he watched for anything suspicious that he could alert Sylam to.
"Seems they still aren't looking in the right area," Sylam murmured quietly to his silent companion, pointing over the rooftops, "See? They're focusing mainly along the coastline, near where the deeper waters are. They're almost on the right track, but still not good enough."
"The only problem is, that its only a matter of time..."
Sylam looked up suddenly, getting a horrible feeling. He didn't brush it aside, as it was accompanied by a searing wave of heat that washed over him, causing him to gasp, shuddering for a moment, as he tried to shake off the pain. Artemis glanced worriedly to his trainer, still not making a sound, but Sylam knew his concern, and spoke one word, although it came out a whisper.
"...Malys..."
It seemed things in Hoenn hadn't gone entirely like they had planned, Sylam sighed, casting a worried glance in the direction of Mt. Pyre. He knew that something had gone horribly wrong, to feel the pain emanating from his twin so easily.

Fighting his urge to rush to Mt. Pyre, Sylam shook his head, "I cannot," he murmured, seemingly trying to convince himself that turning back and returning to Malys was not the best way.
It seemed he was failing, though, as he cast another worried glance in the direction of the mountain. Was that smoke rising past the horizon?
A tugging at his trenchcoat sleeve had Sylam glancing down at Artemis, who still sat beside him. The Glaceon only shook his head slowly, indicating his thoughts on the matter.
"I shouldn't go back..." Sylam voiced the feelings haltingly, although they tasted dry in his mouth, and he had to fight to get them out.
"I just hope someone else reaches him..." he could only pray, as he returned to reluctant vigil on the sudden burst of activity on the shoreline.
They were getting closer...

Brayden couldn't help but crack a laugh as well, smoothing down the fur on his tails a bit as he hopped down onto the train platform. They had gotten a little worse for wear, despite his attempts at keeping them in check the ride there. Six was a bit much to keep track of.
"Sure thing, that's a great idea," he nodded with a smile, "I don't mind taking either one," he admitted, ears flicking up a bit at the prospect. Yeah, he would be glad to get rid of the things, if they were giving away his emotions that easily.
"So which one would you rather take?" he inquired.

Brayden smiled, trying not to sigh in relief, somehow managing the task as he nodded. "Sure, so I'll head to the store and check to see what I can find. I'll send you a message if I find anything," he suggested, before turning to the town. Now to find the department store. Which usually shouldn't be too hard of a task, it was usually the largest building. Commerce before most of everything else it seemed, especially for a shore town. Tourism must be much of the town's income.
"Okay, mission accepted," Brayden murmured to himself, setting about on a hunt of his own, tails swaying behind him slightly, his mood brightened a bit by taking the decidedly drier route to their goal. He turned for a moment, flashing a grin to Kaya, "Thanks," he muttered sincerely, before dashing into the town.

Brayden had not too much trouble finding the department store, although he did end up in a few dead ends from his inexperience with the streets of Lilycove. However, it didn't deter him much, as he could almost constantly see the rooftop of the store above the surrounding buildings. For the most part, it just meant that he had to back up a bit and try another way. Trial by error seemed to be on his side thankfully, for soon enough Brayden found himself outside the doors to the department store, looking up at the tall brick building with a faint smile, "Gotcha," he declared, earning a few more stares than his current looks were affording him. Too pleased with his triumph over the street-maze, Brayden didn't pay them any mind, entering the department store and making his way to the elevators.
