her original name is aerith, her name in japan, anyway, but in america, they basicaly changed her name to aeris...

Japanese does not have the 'th' sound in their language, though, kind of how other languages will lack another consonant (for example, Korean does not possess the 'z' sound, so when my mother says my name, it is 'Elijabet' instead of 'Elizabeth'). To assume that just because it's pronounced with an 's' sound at the end that it is actually Aeris instead of Aerith is silly, because that'd mean that my mom really named me Erijjabetu, not Elizabeth, and that a similar rule would apply to other languages. It's a a simple mistranslation, but there's nothing wrong with prefering the name Aeris. I myself usually say Aeris, but write it down as Aerith.
On another note, isn't this the twelfth thread or so dedicated to the same topic? Just wondering. razz I love when Strawberrie solves something. whee

her name was aeris in the game so i thought it was aeris for a while untill people started callin it aerith so im not tooo sure anymore lol

I know for a matter of fact it is Aerith. I know this because the Japanese name for her is Aerith but "Aeris" is a mistranslated name they had for her! Thats how I know. They mistranslated as so I did the first time!

soadshuyin Facts as in it was originally supposed to be Aerith, but it was typoed upon transfer into English, but it doesnt really matter because its pronounced the same way in Japanese at least so it only really annoys us here in America? Cause thems the facts I know. I accept both but I always use Aeris since thats the one I saw originally. i agree with you about useing Aeris since that was also the one i saw first
