Marshall limped back into his duplex, needing to change shirts AND wash off his foot. It wasn't bleeding any more, but it still really hurt. As he closed the door behind him, feeling the nice Air Conditioning, Marshall finally remembered some thing important:

Halloween was next week. And he STILL forgot to order his costume! He limped over the Intercom and pressed 0, placing his order in wtih the rather jaded-sounding man on the other end.

"Oh, and could I get some bandages sent to my room?"

"Ya got it."

"Thanks."

And it was as simple as that...Life's quirky like that.

Halloween...

Halloween Evening started out great, as Marshall enjoyed the company of Amaya and met some unfamiliar islanders. He ate some "chips", which were actually the baked bugs, and had a horrible taste in his mouth for the remainer of the night.

Then, at Midnight, the power was cut and a creepy light came from outside the tent. "Sabin's Haunted Trail" was offically open. Marshall and the others were attacked by rats, Gaius was attacked by a fake Annie animatronic, and all of the participants got an up-close-and-personal view of "failed" animal expiraments.

But that was nothing compared to what the trail led to...A graveyard. Filled with people who had died from their Transformations, the Murder Victims of Annie, and the very FIRST Moreau, Alphonse.

Marshall was infuriated when the blonde-hair stranger started laughing, but he soon figured out that she was in fact a Lab Tech who was sent in as a mole. Marshall let her go, but her and Zach managed to emotionally scar Marshall.

He returned home from the festivities, broken.

Broken, Beginings

It had been a long night. Marshall needed a freind. But they were all at the Halloween Party, enjoying themselves. They could get over it, probably. But what Ginerva said hurt Marshall than any thing else on this island. He completely forgot about Amaya.

He slowly opened the door of his duplex, staring at it. Empty. He would always be greeted with an empty room. He was alone. He threw his umbrella to the side, not caring where it landed. He sat down on his bed, staring at the wall.

Was what she said real? Was he really not human any more? He knew, physically, he wasn't...But...Mentally? Spiritually? Would he still be Marshall? Would he keep any of his freinds once this was all over? What would become of his freinds? His thoughts went back to when Gaius was in a panic. It was barely over a month ago, but it felt like a century had passed since then.

"...Did...Did I lie?..." he said alloud, staring at the ceiling as if it would answer any of his questions.

And all those people who died from "Complications"...Would he be one of them? Would that be his end? Forgotten? And his family...His real family. The family that raised him, back home. His mom. His dad. His older sister. Did they even remember him any more? Did they think he forgot about them? Did they think he was dead?

All those bright, cheerful thoughts Marshall had held on to were gone. Dead, like Fiona and The Dude and all those other islanders. He stared at the ceiling hopelessly, tears streaming down his face. And all alone, in his tiny duplex, while a party continued going strong outside, Marshall cried himself to sleep.

Broken, Finale

It had been almost two days since Halloween. Marshall couldn't even say the word, his dreams and thoughts haunted with what Ginerva and Zach told him.

You're not human!

He sat on his bed, curled up in his blanket as if it would protect him. He hadn't eaten in two days, but his appatite didn't exist at the moment any way. He couldn't cry any more. He was offically dry from the hours he spent sobbing. He felt like such a pathetic wimp.

YOU'RE NOT HUMAN!

Marshall whimpered, closing his eyes, wishing it'd all go away. Wishing that every thing was okay. That he didn't see a cemetary filled with people who died from their transformations. Would he be like them as well, and his next transformation would just be...too much for him?

"....I...I don't want to die." Marshall said, looking down at his hand, tears flowing from his face yet again, "I-I-I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" he sobbed, part from fear, part from shame.

If I'm not human...What am I?

Marshall wakes up with the worst hangover following the night of drinking with the rest of the group. Sure, he had a lot to drink, and sure he was quite wasted, but the hangover is particularly bad - his headaches, he feels very hot, achy, and the room just won't stop spinning.

Chills run over his body, and a prickling feeling begins all over his face, arms, and begining of his torso. Then, before his eyes, small black slick feathers pierce through his skin, the shafts unforuling as they grow in. It itches like mad, the pinions that are brushed in teh wrong direction feels incredibly uncomfortable. And if you've ever seen or heard of a bird molting, then you suddenly get all too much of a firsthand experience in what it must feel like.

Your center of balance wavers, your outer ears curling up and shiveiling.

Your teeth ache as if you'd been wearing braces, and they slowly begin to meld and push out from your mouth solidfying into a distinct beak, melding with the nose that had been hooking downwards.

Your stomach gurgles and rumbles, and your pants begin to feel tighter

Your two toes that had been growing together begin to meld as the rough skin on yoru feet develops into a pliable scaling. Your big toe pulls back further, and your feet ache as if they'd been tortured.

Finally, your left hand's webbing gets thicker,, and as does your right hand... but while your left hand stops changing, your right hand continues, the fingers melding and being immersed by an engulfing skin that feathers over with black and white down.

Finally... the changes subside... and if you look in the mirror, the pattern begins to look very familiar.

Marshall groaned, putting a webbed hand to his head, glaring at the ceiling. Yet again, hung over. You think after last time he wouldn't learned his lesson, but alas, no. He didn't. "Stupid Wolf..." he pouted, thinking about how every one thought he was half his age. He had convinced himself that he probably wouldn't have had any thing to drink had no one picked on him. It probably wasn't true, but still, having an excuse felt good.

Marshall got to his feet, still rubbing his head, not exactly sure how he got home. "I feel asleep at the beach...Annnnd woke up here...Ugh, thats it, I'm done with that crap!" he complained as he walked into the bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror, and lifted up his shirt. Had he put on a little weight?

"...Huh..." he said, before feeling some thing...weird on his arm. He dropped his shirt and rolled up his sleeve. It was small, black, and...A feather. "...What the...?"

Once it was sufficiently morning, Gaius crutched his way over to Marshall's duplex, hoping to find the guy awake. He wanted to check on him after the previous night's drama, and he owed him, amongst others, some one-on-one talk. He'd promised to never hide so long after a transformation, after all.

Thankfully, Marshall had a bottom duplex. Knocking loudly on the door, he tried to peer in one of the windows to see if the guy was up.

Marshall plucked the feather. Where had it come from? "...Weird..." he said under his breath, before he heard a knock at the door. It sounded about ten times louder than usual because of the hang-over. However, he still managed to quickly answer it.

"Oh! Hey Gaius!" Marshall said, holding his head with his free hand. This was weird...It felt like his headache was just getting worse.

"Hey Marshall!" Gaius returned, smiling down at the guy. His smile quickly faded to a look of concern at Marshall's state. "...you doing okay? You don't look so hot. Hangover?"

"Um...Yeah...I'm-" Marshall didn't get to finish his sentence, falling to his knees, gasping for breath. He felt like he was hit with a wave of pure heat, before he recognised this sensation: he was changing. "A...ARRRRGGHH!" he cried, his feet changing drastically once again. He was clutching the side of his head, as tears started flowing down his face, which was slowly pushing foward painfully.

"M-Make it stop! Make it stop! Please!" he cried, remembering Halloween, and the cemetary, and the tomb-stones.
