Marshall yawned, wearing a new white shirt and orange vest. Not like he owned any thing else. He walked down the steps of his duplex gingerly, his foot (now in a proper bandage) still sore. The sky was some-what over cast, making a trip to the beach rather...silly. "Oh well..." Marshall sighed, webbed hands in his pockets. He looked over at Gaius' duplex. There was one giant perk for being freinds with your neighbours: That gave you perfect excuse to randomly drop in on them.

"HEY! GAIUS~! WAKE UP!!" Marshall yelled happily, banging on the door. He was good at causing a rucus.

Gaius, who had been awake far longer than Marshall in all likelihood, was in the process of propping up a freshly-glued chair leg with whatever he could grab – mostly books and some old clothes to keep the thing in place until the glue dried. The windows were open and the fan on full blast to blow out the fumes. A hand on the wood, Gaius was about to let go slowly, hoping the thing wouldn’t go crooked, when the sudden pounding startled him. The leg tilted sideways and Gaius groaned, frowning sadly at the in-process chair before glaring at the door.

Annoyed, Gaius opened the door to look down at a smiling Marshall. “I was in the middle of something! What do you want?”

"...What smells?" Marshall asked, ignoring Gaius' question. "Smells like Glue or some thing. I thought you were keeping all your projects in the Tool Shed! Its not healthy to take your work home with ya, y'know!" Marshall said to his freind, unusally bubbly. Perhaps it was the lack of sun; for some reason whenever it was out he was a lot more mellow.

"I was sticking the chair legs on," Gaius stuck a thumb over his shoulder at the pile of debris with a wooden post sticking out of it. "It's been wet out, so I don't want to risk it getting rained on, that's why I brought it back here!"

He went back inside and knelt down beside the project, tail twitching behind him. Fidgeting with the leg, he asked, "So, what brought you over here anyways? Bored as usual?" He smirked, knowing how often Marshall's short attention span got the better of the young man.

"Y'know it! Besides, between my foot and the over-cast, the last thing I want to do is go out into the Jungle." Marshall said, following Gaius into the duplex, admiring all the wood-work. He had definatly put some good time and effort into these things, that went with out saying.

"Besides, I really want to go to the Arcade or some thing today. Maybe play some overly-violent video games. Or pinball. Pinball is good too." Marshall said, still admiring the chair.

Thank the lord I don't have a tail...

Gaius looked over his shoulder up at Marshall with a wry grin. "What, you can't go by yourself? Need adult supervision?"

With a final wiggle, he got the leg set in place... not perfectly, but about as straight as he could manage. He sat back and surveyed his work with satisfaction. "Now I just have to wait for it to dry before I can put the other legs on!"

Marshall smirked, "Oh gee, however will you pass the time until that leg drys? Hmm, oh, I know! Get your butt kicked at a Digital Massacrue a la Mortal Kombat!" Marshall said, smirking. Arcades were fun, but going to an arcade by yourself was simply boring. Plus, since DDR would hurt his foot too bad, the only games he could really play were the fighting ones and that weird Guitar one that was too complicated (and hard, with his webbed fingers).

"C'mon man, pleeeeeeaaaasssseeeee?" Marshall whined.

Gaius groaned, knowing that he would just get pestered until he went anyways. He rolled his eyes and pushed himself up. "Fiiine, fine... I'll go... It's in the center building, right?"

"Heh heh, y'know it!" Marshall said, still smiling. He knew video games weren't exactly Gaius' thing, and to be honest...He didn't really care. "Have you been doing any thing outside of your Chairs recently?" Marshall asked, exiting the room backwards to keep eye-contact with Gaius.

"Ah, just a project here or there," he said, closing the door behind them, not bothering to lock it. "I helped Richard, an old guy, put up a message board thing in the village center, it's over near the Caf. Other than that..." he shrugged and smiled. "The chairs have been plenty trouble by themselves!"

"And watch out for the stairs!" he cautioned the back-stepping boy.

"Heh heh...I know I know!" Marshall said, turning around just in time to make his descent down the stairs, "Y'know I would probably be dead with out ya around." Marshall said as he walked down the stairs (yet again, slowly because of his foot. He was really getting sick of this thing).

"I've just been doing some explorin'...Met this guy named Anatoli, and turns out he's RELATED to the guy who runs this place! Go figure, neh? Oh, and I met this really nice Lizard Girl who I'm taking to the Halloween thing...I think her name's...Amaya?" Marshall said, looking up at the clouds as if they would answer his question.

Gaius followed after Marshall between the duplexes towards the center, frowning at his foot and about to ask about the bandage, but his babbling distracted Gaius's train of thought. "Hm? Ana-toli? Haven't heard of him... What, related?" He stopped half a step, wearing a surprised expression. "They'll even do in their own family? That's just... Errrgh." He shook his head, frowning. That didn't sit well with him at all.

However, the dark mood was quickly whiped away by the mention of the sad lizard girl he'd met some days ago. His ears perked up hopefully at the memory, eager to hear any news. "Amaya? Hey, I know her! You're taking her to the Halloween party?"

"Yep! She was really upset when I met her, and she didn't want to go to the Halloween Party...Sooo...I said I'd take her." Marshall said, matter-of-factly. "You know her I take it?" he asked as he put his hands in his pockets.

"You are coming to the Halloween thing, right? It wouldn't be much fun with out ya." Marshall said, kicking a small pebble with his good foot.

"Of course! I even know what I'm going as... though I should probably get around to asking the labs for it..." he winced sheepishly. He'd forgotten about that in his busyness. "That's nice that you're taking her, she seems to have been having a hard time. At least she was when I met her."

The village center with the caf and other facilities loomed up in front of them between the buildings, along with the newly-placed board. Looked like it was still empty. Gaius glanced at Marshall side-ways. "So, what are you going as?"

"Nyeheheheh...I'll never tell the likes of you, Batman!" Marshall said, giving a whoping hint. Then again, Gaius didn't seem like the type of pick up a Comic Book, so there was no telling if he'd be able to get the joke. "Better question, what are you going as? Super Man? A pirate?" marshall guessed, seeing Gaius going as Super Man easily.
