I believe it was August. ... Or maybe July--I can't remember. Anyway, my friend had borrowed the book from another of her friends and told me how much she enjoyed it. I told her in some way or another that I wanted to borrow it and after she finished, I got to. It took me... I think less than two days to read it. I seriously could not put it down even though the first chapter or so was sort of slow. It helped me keep reading at the beginning to know that Edward WAS going to show up and that when he does, it would get so much better. After I gave it back, I waited for New Moon's release and got them both off of Barnes and Noble's website. I think I remember squealing when they came...xD

That may be too much detail (but trust me, I could add more. xD), but that's how I came to fall in love Twilight. 3nodding

My online friend told me to read it. It actually took me a few months to actually buy it, as I had no idea what it was about and was a bit skeptical. I actually didn't know it was about vampires until after I started reading it. razz

My friend was reading it. I asked her what if I could read the descprition thing. I thought it was awesome so I asked her if I could borrow it. She said "Yeah, I'll add you to the list". I was the 16th perosn on the list.

Wow, I had no idea that there was waiting list for Twilight in some schools! That's awesome, how popular it is.. *jealous*

So, my friend comes back from the school book fair one day, and I rifle through her bag of purchases. I see this one book, called Twilight, and read the back cover. It sounds pretty intriguing, but I put in back and it's out of my head within the next day. A month or two later, I look through the shelves of the public library in the Young Adult section and see the book that my friend had bought. Again, it seems interesting, so I take it out.

That's where it all began. I'm currently reading it for the second time (since I read it for the first time in two days), and only have one week left with it! crying I'm going to ask for it (and New Moon) for Christmas.

(By the way, my friend who bought it still hasn't read it, and her only excuse is, "I'm too lazy," rolleyes

I'm trying to get my friends obsessed, but they're TOO DAMN LAZY!! Gawd, I hate it.

So ends the Twilight ramble. >_<

I discovered Twilight when I was at school at the Book Fair. The cover intrigued me so I read the back of the book and immediately wanted to buy it. I didn't have any money, so I asked my teacher to buy it for me. She wouldn't, but she would buy it for the class. It never even hit the book shelf, I borrowed it right away. And now, I'm in love with Twilight.

And soon as I got done with Twilight, I read the first chapter of New Moon. I ran downstairs screaming that we had to go buy New Moon. The next day we went to the bookstore and they had it. I finished it in a day or two. mrgreen

Haha. My school's kinda the opposite. ^^
So, in my little group of people at school, on of us (Steph) read Twilight. And she, of course, adored it. Then she got at all of our throats to read it. I mean like...wow. She can be really forceful. o__o But nobody actually caved. I looked at the back of the book and thought, "Oh no, a book about a humanxvampire, huh? Like no one's done that before. And what's this 'unconditionally and irrevocably' crap? She'll probably find out at the end that it was only lust and throw him out the window." ((I feel so bad for saying all that now, but my first instinct while reading the back of a book is to think of ways that the book would be horrible.))
So, when I finished the book I was reading, I was like, "Ho hum what am I to read?" ((Because to be honest, I'm not a very big reader. I read pretty much only when I stumble upon a really really good book I had just finished reading Peeps and The Last Days (me = huge Scott Westerfeld fan), which was kinda like a vampire story without really being a vampire story, so I was it a bit of a vampire-ish mood.)), so I went to Barnes and Noble. I was just kinda walking around the shelves when I walked past the terribly oversized Gossip Girls section, and I stopped to shake my head, you know, just for good measure because I hate those kinds of books. And the salesgirl who's in the Teen section walks past me, kinda looks at me, and goes, "Gossip Girls scares me." So, I just kind of immediately figure out that this girl most likely has a not-retarded opinion on a good book. I ask her for a recommendation and she says Twilight and New Moon were really good, and I just think, "Well, you're not the first person to tell me that." So I figure, hey, it's in paperback, why not give it a shot? I buy, I read, I fall in love and get New Moon.
Then I went to a signing, yadda yadda, and we finally got one of my other friends to read it. ;D She loved it so much. xD But before that she procrastinated reading it, big time. O__o

*For those of you at Lexicon, I posted this in my intro thread so sorry if a lot of this looks familiar. I tweaked it a little, but if you wanna skip to the end, no biggie.

My first encounter with Twilight was at a local Barnes and Noble around the time it first came out. I was simply browsing the Young Adult section. Twilight caught my eye for a number of reasons; I glanced at it, liked the cover and even the back, but I put it aside as another cliche teen angst novel.

Then, on October 17, 2006, (my youngest sister's fourth birthday), my mom pulled me out of school early to help her take my two youngest sisters out to Downtown Disney to shop. The day was long (with me carrying all the bags no doubt) but I convinced my mom to let me take a peek at the bookstore because I'd been looking for a manga I wanted (Dramacon, for the curious). We went in, and unfortunately, I couldn't find what it so I went browsing again.

As I went through the store with my arms full of huge bags from my mom's shopping, I saw it again; Twilight. I bought it for the heck of it, merely because I wanted to spend my money on a book. But as soon as I read the first three chapters, I couldn't put it down and immediately finished it in three days. I bought New Moon the next weekend and finished it in less than 24 hours.

Now, I've copied, pasted, and printed out everything on Stepheniemeyer.com, Lexicon, and Myspace's Q&A thread. I've also finished typing out a few of the New Moon Outtakes that were unavailable because they weer on PDF files (I swear I won't sell them, Stephenie, don't sue me ><"). So yeah...talk about addiction. I haven't been this obsessed since...God, I don't think I've ever been this obsssed, haha ♥

Well, okay even though I'm a 20 year old college student, I still can't help but go looking at the books in the Young Adult section (I just like it because I can relate most to those types of books, ya know?). Lol Anyways, I kept going there in the last year I would always see Twilight and I always thought, hmm...that looks rather interesting and I picked it up thinking it was another book that I had heard about by another Vampire author...the other book was about like these two twin vampire boys one ends up liking this human girl and the other brother is more evil one and once he finds out that the two of them are falling love he goes and tries killing them, I guess or something to that effect lol. Once I looked at the first time I realized it wasn't the same book so I put it back and I thought "Perhaps another time." lol. I went there like 3 more other times, before finally deciding a few weeks ago to get something to read during the Thanksgiving vacation, that I picked up Twilight (Now in paperback...and sitting next to it was of course New Moon and I looked at the too and I'm like "Hmm, well if I like Twilight perhaps I'll get this too." haha). As soon as I got home I started reading and I started to identify with Bella that I started to enjoy it...especially when Edward appeared heehee. I got so0o into it that I couldn't put it down...I got so0o into it I think the first night I stayed up til like 2am before going to bed. All during the night I was having trouble sleeping because I wanted to know what happened next. Anyways, it continues like that for 2 other days and me staying up til like 3am trying to finish it teehee. And ever since then I've been a fan and yes I have read New Moon...I tried waiting for Christmas to read it, but I couldn't help myself and ended up reading it anyways. I told my mom that she could still wrap it up and that I definately wouldn't mind reading it again biggrin 4laugh blaugh . So, yeah that was my rambling story on how I came upon the beloved Twilight heart .

I bought it last Christmas, never read it, lost it, Had my Friends Elisabeth and Marriah tell me I must read it, bought it, read it, waited four agonizing days going bookstore to bookstore, until I saw New Moon at Borders, the only copy, hardback, all shiny and propped up against the other books, in full view, and it was fate, so I bought it, and never looked back.

How's THAT for a run-on sentence!!!

I heard about Twilight at a school book reading in my lit. class and it sounded kind of interesting, so I went to the library after school and tried to find it, and I checked it out. The next day you wouldn't have been able to tear me away from Twilight for any reason!
