Discussions of the Heart

Shore/Kara
PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 10:14 am

I'm not Crazy

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Run.

Run forever Kara. Remember what Shore said. 'Its perfectly natural. Love is love, and I don't want to see your face until you've told her.' Not that she'd believed him, besides. Kara somehow managed to create her own drama. It was perfectly senseless according to everyone.

'The world isn't going to come crashing down on your shoulders.'

She'd made it come down, oh yes she had. Kara had every opportunity to make things right, but she was far too afraid to do anything about.

Now she'd lost what she loved. Running. The muscles were so weak from forever doing nothing. Lying on that river bank. Which reminded her. She needed to go find Voodoo. No, Shore said Ran first, before anything. God damn it. She'd kill Shore as soon as she got back.

She had a hit list forming, and it went like this:
1. Kaho - For being a damn riddle-wolf
2. Hayley - Because she was a b***h
3. Raja - Because she was Raja, and she'd sided with Tekka
4. Shore - You know perfectly well why.

Shore would be sad he'd been stuck at the bottom of the list. Of course, she had no intention of bringing harm to any of them, except for maybe Raja, if she pushed to many bottons. Kara was too confused and self-conscious to do anything but think. She thought to much and in far too many irrational quanitities for her own good.

"Damn," she mumbled, slowing to a stop as her breathing came in sharp bursts, lungs brushing up against the curved crater of ribs. The river would forever be imprinted on her side.

She glanced around, realizing she'd made it out of the forest. It was someowhere sandy, with little foliage. Something sparked the edge of her mind, as though it were familiar, but yet it was definately not a place she'd ever been. It reminded her of childhood.

The big question was, who on earth put this random pile of sand here on the other side of a lake? And as she looked up, she found it wasn't just a little pile, it was huge. Towering to magnomous heights, and those which she felt intrigued to climb.

Sometimes it was just a matter of getting higher up; above everything else - or as much as he could anyway. It was a matter of being close to her, better when her bright eye looked out clear and warm and golden. Syrus had envied birds once, the way they wheeled and twisted closest to her gaze; a dirty jealousy he'd nursed until he'd watched a snake eat a nest of eggs.

He suited himself to laying, stretching out and quiet, at the top of the vast expanse of sand. It was warm under his belly, a good place for sleeping or simply watching. Closer to the goddess than he had been in a long time. He huffed out a breath of contentment, sucking in the air again and --

--and caught a smell.

Syrus shifted, wiggling where he lay in the sand and twisting his body around to peer down over the edge of the slope to the ground below. He spied the other wolf easily, her darker coloring stark against the dull color the sand itself. He perked his ears slightly, edging closer to the edge of the top of the mound. The male remained on his belly.

"Fine afternoon," he called down cheerfully enough, head cocked off to one side absently.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
There was a wolf.

Right in the middle of the sand-hill she had found. Wasn't there a name for this? Ah yes, irony.

No that wasn't it. It wasn't ironic.

It was a dune. This giant pile of sand was a dune, and this situation was a crude annoyance at best. For there was a wolf.

Right in the middle of her dune. And it was speaking to her, mumbling, no she was mumbling, it was speaking. Was she losing her mind? Yep. That was the answer. The world was crashing down on her shoulders again.

She looked at the wolf, then to the sand below him, then back to the wolf again, her ears pinning and coming undone with each successive motion. Crazy b***h.

"No," she snapped, clamouring her way up the middle of the dune. Big mistake. Her paws sunk in and she went rolling down into the water, getting her fur soaked. She liked rivers, not oversized ponds. Grunting, she tried again, the fine grains hopping on her fur and going for a ride. "Its a ******** awful afternoon, with a god damn evil premonition, and the blasted sun reminding me of my shitty childhood that I wasted with crappy parents, friends, and crazy-a** siblings."

'Watch your language' Shore would have told her.

"Oh ******** you," she told him (the invisible Shore), as a large pile of sand dumped itself on her waiting mouth. She rolled back into the water again, coughing and sputtering.

"Damn it!" she growled, moving to a new spot. "How the hell did you get up there!?" she demanded of him, as friendly as she could muster in her situation.

Shore would have said, 'Someone is in their time of month.' She needed to stop thinking of aggravating things like Shore that sent her out on missions to give her heart away.

Pukio
Syrus waited, watched impassively as she tumbled and rolled all over herself, letting the sand dune throw her into the water repeatedly. He rested his chin on his paws, observing and waiting for the spew, the tangle of words to finish as she staggered around, digging at the sand but not really getting anywhere in particular.

"Patience," he said at length, in apparent answer to her (not-so-polite) question. He smiled faintly, straightening up a bit as if realizing something of merit and slight excitement. "It takes patience to climb a mountain."

It sounded like a quote.

He looked back at her, grinning crookedly. "And it helps if you walk a little sideways on the way up."

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Oh he sounded like Kaho! She could have leapt for his throat right then, if she could reach it, that was. Of course it took patience! She just didn't have any, and she needed the answer right that instant. Couldn't people give her straight things.

'You can't get straight things, when you're a bent wolf,' Shore had told her. Stop thinking about Shore.

"Uh-huh," she answered, moving her way along the lake edge to put herself in a position to go sideways. She planted her feet firmly in the ground and craned her head up to look at him.

"Hmph," she sated, charging the hill with as much voracity as she could muster. Her legs got her about halfway up before they burned out and she had to struggle the rest of the way there.

By the time she managed to get to where he was she was dragging her belly along. She was either really weak still, or that wolf was an expert mountain climber. "What are you doing up here, huh?"

Pukio
He wiggled a little backwards to give her room on the top of the sand dune, still wearing that faintly amused expression - it was a slightly dreamy look, absent and soft but not altogether cheerful and not completely nice, but not exactly threatening either.

Just.

...Kind of weird.

"Talking," he responded simply. "She doesn't answer much, but..." Syrus' eyes rolled pointedly toward the sun, letting his gaze roll briefly over the bright glare of the goddess' eye before his attention switched back to the other wolf. "But She watches and it matters."

He paused, ruminating over something. "Perhaps She's brought you here to talk too," he remarked, wagging his tail a little. "It's a good place - close."

One word: whackjob.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
He talked like Kaho, and he had a crazy expression like Shore. He was clearly a freak of nature.

"She - what? I'm sorry, excuse me?" she had no idea what on earth this wolf was talking about. She turned her heads towards the sun as well, but only got blinded. She shrunk down, giving the strange wolf a repulsive glare.

"Watches? Your sentences, comeplete them please. I don't know what you mean." Great. Not only did he talk in riddles, had a crazy grin, but also didn't complete his thoughts. This day was spectacular to the skies. Sarcasm comes with the package.

Pukio
Syrus sighed, a look of impatience flitting across his features. "She," he repeated, clearly not understanding how the female couldn't comprehend what he was talking about - honestly!, wolves these days. "She watches with one eye all the movements of Her creatures, like stones on a board." He motioned sharply toward the sun above them with his nose, huffing a little. Furthermore, the metaphor he'd used was foreign, awkward. A two-legger statement more than a wolf's. "One eye in the day, one eye at night. Warm and cold, large and small - Her mood dictates the seasons and it gives us..." He grasped briefly for the word. "Balance."

He looked at her, smiling quickly. "Perhaps She's brought you here for those reasons - patience, balance." He chuckled a little, as if the thought was entertaining or fulfilling in some way.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Kara had her jaw unhinged and she was clearly staring. She didn't have manners, to her, manners were a nonexistent thing that cowards used to protect themselves. They felt threatened and they'd say something like, 'Boy that's rude' or 'Mind your manners, dearie.' It was enough to make her puke.

Kara didn't know what a 'board' was. Clearly it wasn't something to do with she.

"Sure, yes, right," she responded, inching just a bit away from him.

"Did she drop a magical rock on your head?" Kara asked, still dumbfounded. She didn't feel so insane now.

Pukio
"Rock?" he repeated, the inquiry apparently having launched him into a sea of confusion if his expression was any indication. After a moment (an extremely long moment), a dawning glint passed over his eyes, settled deep at the backs. He smiled slightly.

"I'm not crazy," he informed her rather matter of factly. "She's given me a calling." To follow, to talk, to forget and not dwell.

More wolves could use a gift like that.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Kara watched, and waited. She wondered if he'd ever get what she meant. Then it must have hit him, because he gave her one of those smiles.

"Right, and I like men," she told him, rolling her eyes, and rising to her feet. "Speaking of liking men, I have to go confess my love, says Shore." Which meant, that she was running away from her problems. At the moment, this male was a problem.

He was threatening what little sanity she had left. If she wasn't careful, she might actually start believing whatever it was the male was saying. Best go now before things got tricky.

Without giving it a second thought she started down the duneside. Afraid that he might make her stay.

Pukio
Dissapointing. He watched her slide down the steep embankment of the dune, skittering out onto the rest of the world below. He sighed, a long heavy sound. To Kara's benefit, he didn't rise.

He did, however, say something from the top of his dune. "We choose to love, we do not choose to cease loving, little wolf." As if he had any right to the nickname. Granted, Syrus seemed a good deal older than most of the wolves in the woods, but...

And on that rather cryptic note, the gold and black male rose to his feet, turned and wandered down the opposite side of the dune and well out of sight.

Teetering on the Edge

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
"Oh hell," Iriana said for no reason, as she hopped down to the next rock. A small pebble slipped out from under her foot and skittered to the edge where it rocked back and forth. Iriana held a sharp breath and craned her head over, while leaning back into the rock behind her. It was a hell of a long way down. "s**t, s**t," she repeated the crude words as she carefully moved the pebble safely back on the precipice with her one free paw.

If the rock was safe, she'd be safe, or so she led herself to believe. "Okay, Iriana, deep breaths." She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, turning her head towards the sky to take in the brief sun that had peeked through the clouds. "Oh ********!" she nearly screamed as she felt her body swim, she didn't have the best of balance, and closing her eyes had obviously not been the best idea. "No way I'm doing that again."

Yes, she was talking to herself, no she didn't think there was anyone around to care. Not that she would have minded people thinking she was crazy. They gave crazy wolves space, and she certainly enjoyed her space. Every bit of the wonderful acreage that lay beneath her feet, or didn't, if she went over that cliff edge.

"Don't think about that, girl," she comforted herself, taking a deep breath and hopping to the next ledge, screaming, "Oh, I'm going to die!" the whole way down. The ground was safely under her paws, though, and she gulped down the mucous in her throat, keeping her eyes torn from that jaggedy-grey line of death.

shia-san
User ImageHis body convulsed down in the doldrums of the cliffs base. He watched, precariously, as this black figure screeched, hoot, and hollered its way down the face of each rocky ledge. Though she seemed fully capable of succeeding her task, it was obvious that she was beside her reasoning, and only yelling out in--what could have, and should have been taken as fear.

Often times, Allister would not wander from the den, his parents, and ultimately his youthful brother, but this was a different day. He was getting older, and with his age, he sought out the curiosity any wolf pup did. Soon he'd be a teenager, then an adult and he would not be under the consistent watch of his mother and father. Of course, this did not apply to his siblings, who would always be watched over; whether they wanted it and accepted it or not.

Allister was a rather brilliant pup, if one could say so, and balanced his options on the scale of life, living, and death. If he prepared his tiny form, and tiny thoughts for this 'wolf' to fall from the sky, then he would sit put and watch her balance, lose balance, balance, lose balance and ultimately fall to her demise. He then wondered what she was doing up there, when another coarse could have easily been taken, and this treacherous decision averted.

His ears cocked, tail flashing to and fro, hitting the base of the rocky mountain as hard and as painless as he could. His voice, if he tried to speak to this female, would only be lost to her, he suppose, for fear must've easily docked her of her free will to listen to other things, besides herself. Flinching as she stumbled, then regained herself, Allister felt overcome with this, and released a few barks, whines, and yelps.

Maybe, just maybe, these would help coax her away from falling, and more or less getting to the bottom to actually see him, and tomorrow. Then again, it could also distract her too much, and possibly scare her wits ends and send her toppling to the earth, broken and...

Licking his nose, he shuttered, wondered if fetching help was wise, then fell on his haunches in worry, waiting out this females fate.

'What is she doing up there?'

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana slide her foot towards the next little drop on her forlorn path and was about to lunge with a series of yips echoed from the canyon below. "Holy s**t!" she shouted, as her body involunarily gave a jump and sent her toppling right over the edge, onto the next precipice, and from there a few spinning rounds down the trail that wove from the heights. The whole way she sent up howls about how she would never see Dakolin again, and thankfuls that she woudn't have to deal with Wren.

Yet, when she blinked, she found that she hadn't yet died, and she was yet again set with the task of making it down this crazy idea. "Damn you Shore!" she shouted. She couldn't believe she'd listened to the purple wolf. He'd told her she needed to conquer her fears, one of which was heights, for being a messenger meant she had to take the quickest way down, and this was one of them. Her head was spinning again, as she carefully slid her feet back underneath her and stared downwards. She could just make out the form of a small yellow puppy far below her. If she jumped now, she wouldn't die, necessarily, but she'd surely break something.

"What are you doing!" she shrieked at him. "Can't you tell I'm trying to concentrate. Are you trying to kill me!?" Quite frankly, she wouldn't be surprised if he was. The wolves around here seemed to be set on each others demise. All evil, every single one of them.

Growling, a newfound anger partially blocking out her fear, she shuffled her way to the next scary spot, and took a running sprint. "Oh, no, oh, no, no, no . . ." she stammered all the way down the small trail, trying to keep moving forwards, yet stop herself at the very same moment, without going of the edge. The result made her wobble side to side quite a lot.

"I'm going to make it!" she shouted happily a few feet from the bottom, and tripped, skidding to a hault on her nose.

shia-san
And during this trivial time, Allister kept his wide gaze on the wolf, now female and now visibly very, very angered. He had, indeed and as he had predicted, frightened the wolf so very badly, that she even went falling off the edge, and landing again, still not on flat ground.

He breathed inwardly, the shock and initially the overwhelming fear surpassing as she clamored hastily down the rocky ledge, seemingly to constantly gain her footing just so.

He seemed almost hurt by her words, in his ways of trying to offer up some assistance, if not to be there as a mourner if she fell to her death, but he quickly was off again up on the cliffs face with hind legs on sturdy ground, and forepaws flat against a protruding stone. She was not stabilizing any time soon, and this was visible as she went and fell at the last moment, when everything seemed to be going quite well.

Allister galloped her way, harks beamed up and forwards, his tail swaying high, a curious demeanor about the pup. He glowed with confusion, and only stopped feet away, with his head cocked, to question her well-being.

Was it right to approach and speak at the same time, when you didn't truly know the wolf at all? Or rather would it be wiser to act now, ask questions later. He propped his weight onto his left side, tilted his nose down towards the earth and sniffed the air just about the female, lips parting slightly.

'Are you alright? What were you doing up there anyways?'

Well, that just about covered all that needed knowing.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana jerked her head up and rolled over onto her feet, snapping her jaws dangerously close to the male's head. "Of course I'm alright, you idiot!" she told him, her ears almost dissapearing against her skull.

Carefully she slunk a little bit farther to make sure she didn't have any scratches. If she was in the least bit harmed, life would end for her, just like that. Careful rotations of each limb proved that they were all in good service and her carreer as a runner was not yet destroyed.

"Facing my fears," she answered, still too shaken yet to be afraid to reveal any information. Had it been an older, more important wolf whom she spoke to she may have even kept that from the little wolf.

"What are you doing down here?" she asked him, trying to retort with any question at all. Granted, she wasn't very good at it.

shia-san
'Yikes!'

Allister skipped back another foot, lowered his tail slightly and scowled just enough to give him the confidence to keep where he was. Allister often wasn't fearful of much, but what could be said of him--seeing that this rabid female simply lurched out like a beast and snapped the air about his face. It was of course the natural thing to do!

He pressed his tongue firmly to the roof of his mouth, and kept steady as the female proceeded to check her features. She was glamorous, no doubt, very pretty, decked out in black and blue features, with blood red eyes, and so he could see why she checked herself thoroughly; even if it was more so for her looks being damaged then her body itself. However, he was still a bit shaken by her actions.

She spoke, and he listened. His intentions were never to go out and meet someone, but to go out and live; Que Sera, Sera. And with that, obviously came the dangers of life, which were as unpredictable as the weather.

His eyes watched her intently, body still and features very neutral. 'Your fears? That's a silly reason to climb down a cliff, without someone below to break your almost inevitable fall...' He was being rash, but reasonable. She was out, on a cliff, without supervision--that would get a good n** in the butt from his parents had it been him up there, facing his fears.

Flexing his limbs in his position, Allister shifted his weight again to the opposite flank, flitting his tail on the earth and tossing aside handfuls of dirt. He was all too ready to answer her question as it came, his voice very steady and calm.

'Just getting out. Definitely not facing any of my fears, or the like.'

His lips parted, a smile forming, and as the soft sarcasm swam over him a second time, he flit those big blue eyes to the cliff again, the silliness of it all still tickling his fancy.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana would have laughed her a** off if she could read is his mind. She was hardly pretty, she found herself horribly proportioned. Dakolin wouldn't look at her, she must have been ugly.

"If someone had been there when I fell, I would have broken, them, too," she responded shortly, stretching out her aching legs. She wasn't used to so much down so fast. "I had a point to prove, and for once in my life-" she broke off, and glared at him. She was talking to something probably a quarter of her age, or less, why was she wasting her time?

"Well, maybe you should get back in." It was clear she dissaproved of his company. "Because you aren't coming with me, whoever you are." She had places to go, people to see, messages to deliver. Well, none of those at the moment, but she was sure there would be some.

"And Shore's to kick off cliffs," she fnished outloud, and walked over to stand above the younger wolf. "Huh," was all she said and then continued to make her way along the cliffside. She needed to get back somewhere that she recognized.

shia-san
'I suppose you are right.' Allister cooed, laughing with her own tempting sarcasm. He would have retaliated, if it were not for her eyes that darted to his form and slit just enough to see a glimpse of red peaking out.

Why was it so hard for her to accept him as a wolf, and not just another pup wandering around aimlessly. He wasn't homeless, he wasn't needy or clingy--he was just Allister, out and about on another fine morning, just like she was climbing up stone structures trying to acomplish something. His nose flared, ears pricking slightly as she approached him, her words filling both harks, and then walked past, proceeding to leave with the last word.

Often, Allister would have let it be, and moved on himself, but this was something beside the point. He didn't like to be belittled, and he most definitely didn't like to be treated with such unkindness and brutality when all he was doing was trying to save a life and strike up a conversation.

'Shore?' He paused, lifting off the dirt and trotting leisurely after her, keeping far from her head, and only trotting by the heels of her feet.

'I had no intentions of coming with you, really all I wanted to do today was to make it to the open pasture--but then you were up on that cliff, like some suicide victim ready to leap and it caught my eye...I don't know, I think that’s reason enough to talk to someone.' The long, red tassel that hung from his rump swayed energetically, his paws moving rhythmically and with a purpose. He was determine to sway the opinion of this female, of him.

Kissing his nose with a quick swipe of his tongue, Allister sped slightly, moving away from the female, but further up towards her side.

'I truly don't understand why you were up there in the first place, still, even if it meant that you were climbing to prove some point to some person, or even yourself but I still figure it as I've met you, and I think its reason enough to give a name?'

Oh, Allister and his charm. Though in no manner was he putting the "moves" on this female, he knew it could have been taken that way, and from a small pup as himself, it could also be taken as a rude pick-up line, and would be reason enough for said female to lash out--again.

His body slipped back again, and he slowed his steps finally to a halt. His nose lingered in the air for a while, taking in her scent. He'd remember the smell, given he ever sees her again, and whether she stopped or not. His body jittered slightly, but sustained its position, watching the female.

'My name is Allister.'

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
She wasn't going to tell him who Shore was. Despite her loathing for all wolves, this persistance that came from the red kept her at bay. He wasn't mean in his actions in the slightest, but he still wanted to put out a firm word. A rather good persuader if she did say so herself. He'd grow up to make a fine advisor someday, if Shore and Crane died, of course. Then again, she had no intention of ever seeing this pup again, so why bother dreaming about the deaths of those two?

"I've never heard of the open pasture," she echoed, her eyes and ears never leaving the towering rock to her left. It was as though she were looking for a way back up, but that was most certainly not what her plans had been. Sometimes small birds lived amongst those walls, thinking they were safe, and she wouldn't mind gobbling up their eggs. After her long excursion on the cliffs, she deserved it.

"Well, next time I see someone trying to descend a cliff, and I feel like striking a conversation, I'll remember that." Her eyes broke from the wall now and she stopped when the pup came up to her side, preaching to her about how she was on top of a cliff.

"You know what, little scagly rat of red? I really don't know why I was up there either. Call it stupidity. There, you learned a new word today. Go home and tell it to your mother." That was probably as close to a loving compliment as she was going to give him. Iriana was, well, herself, and getting a kind word out of her mouth was like trying to convince a cougar not to eat you. Impossible.

"Uh," she stopped, thinking of Phantom and laughed. "Iriana," she told him, avoiding giving him a different name. It would have been so very easy to lie, like she often did.

"You got any friends, relations, kid?" she asked him, eyeing him warily, as though he might bite her.

shia-san
Allister kept to positive thinking, and as she ceased to walk on, he brought himself an inch closer, shifting his feet in the sandy earth and waving a tail about. It wasn't the 'open pasture' like a title, more of it being just an open pasture. There were plenty, he figured, and so it was a bit odd that she'd never heard of them.

'An open pasture is just that. An open pasture?' There was question in his tone, as if wondering if she got at what he was attempting to explain. 'And it's the only place I can really get away from--well this.' He glanced up, looking to the rigid-ness of the rocks above, and smiled. 'The dangers.'

He blinked, shook his head and let out a soft chuckle. She wasn't as kind as he figured she would, and took into note that appearances weren't all they were cracked up to be. My, what would she think if she could read his mind?

Stupidity? He pondered, knitting his brows in curiosity. He knew that word, and probably figured he knew a lot more then she did--even if she was a youthful, adult female. He shook his head again, in protest to his thoughts, and fluttered his gaze up to the female, listening intently. He'd let that one go.

'Well its nice to meet you Iriana.' He sighed, figuring the moment to meet and greet was probably very much close to being over. It was never fun to have to run off when you've just met someone new, but he figured that is what Iriana would do any minute now.

'Friends? My brothers and sister. Relations? My parents.' He wondered if it would be wise to ask Iriana the same question, but took into account that she was just a moment before performing an act of...stupidity.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Well, she tried anyway.

"Damn," she responded to his answer. It was simply too bad that he had any people who loved him. Otherwise she would have taken him home and told everyone she'd stolen him. However, there was no way she was risking her hide running off with him at this point. His parents would beat her to a pulp, and there went her life.

"Well, be thankful you have family," she told him shortly, and then added, quite unexcpectedly. "Its nice to meet you, too." Followed quickly by, "I guess." Wasn't that just a mood ruiner if there ever was one?

She grinned at him, as if he gave her some secret idea.

"See you around, kid," she said, with a sort of softness she didn't often possess, and took off at her messenger sprint.

Off into the sunset you could say.

Except it was midday, and she wasn't going anywhere special.

shia-san
Allister figured this would be the end of their conversation, and nodded as she rode off into a dramatic sequence of...well sunshine. His eyes followed her disappearing form, but not long enough to see her turn into a black dot against the back drop, for as she left, leaving him alone and left unsaid, he would, too, spin about and begin a casual jog out towards the opposite direction, where his Open Pasture waited.

Hum. Walk. Hum. Hum. Stop.

Shore could feel the wind whip around him like some sort of invigorating pusle. The lick of a lover, perhaps? He grinned at the thought, and closed his eyes to relish in a long thought after memory.

"Oh wind, how you tease me!" he told it, laughter hinting at his lips as he practically skipped his way down the pathway towards the glittering abyss that lay beyond. Rocks, rocks, everywhere! He loved it.

Of course, Shore wasn't actually skipping, he was far too perfect for that. No, it was sort of a brisk walk that said, 'I mean something, and perhaps you don't.' The grin and the offset ear didn't make him look anything serious, however. Perhaps his height would make up for it? Or not, because his belly was more than satisfactorarily full. That's how he liked it.

It meant he hunted well. Very well.

The women didn't seem to mind.

The same wind whipped along the path the pale wolf was taking. It stirred his fur and whispered through the bare trees that loomed overhead. Branches rattles like bones and dead leaves still stuck to their perches were ripped loose to litter the ground near his paws.

God, he hated winter.

His paws were near frozen but he picked his path carefully, aware that one misstep could be fatal. Blood left a path in the snow more noticiable than even pawprints and scent. A stranger in a strange land shouldn't go about illuminating his presence with blood-trails.

Unless they were other creatures' blood-trails. Haplo smirked. Then it would be okay. Speaking of which... the male cast a look around him. Prey was more plentiful here than where he'd been raised, for certain, but that didn't mean it was just waiting to be caught. Picking up the pace and dreaming of returning to his small cave, the wolf stalked forwards, nose low to the ground, body hunched. Time to hunt.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore continued to slime his way from rock to rock, his body kept as low as possible. It was entirely to easy to catch a sight of his purple fur in this enviroment.

That's when he caught the sight of blood on the ground. Alarm crossed his face. He quickened his pace, tunring it into a lope. The blood was clearly wolf blood.

It didn't take him long to spot what it came from. Well, the spotting was a bit harder, and if it weren't for the black mask against the white coat of the wolf, and a good nose, Shore thought he might have missed him.

"Oy, sir, are you hurt!?" he called, his brow furrowed with a slight hint of worry.

Ronove
Damnit! Goddamn sharp rocks, stupid numbing snow! Haplo snorted and caught the scent of his own blood, faint but there. If anything more dangerous was lurking around these parts, it would surly be drawn to the smell.

Carrying the cut paw off the ground, the male waited for the wound to freeze in the chilly winter air. This would slow him down a bit, until it scabbed over. Unless he could find some way to wrap it or something. Glancing around, the male's eyes fell on the dead leaves that littered the ground.

Stepping carefully, Haplo placed his injured paw on the flat of one leaf. Testing it, he smiled grimly. Good. The leaf was frozen to the pad, and would hopefully stop blood from staining his trail.

The voice of the newcomer startled him, and he cursed himself inwardly for not noticing him earlier. Spinning, he took in the purple-orange coat with a blink of suprise that was quickly replaced by a neutral expression.

"I'm fine." He replied.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore stopped as the other turned to him, a look of shock on his face. It was never good to press a surprised wolf, no matter how 'friendly' a one you may be yourself. Instead he cocked his own head to the side in an inquisitive matter.

The look towards him vanished as quickly as it had come, however. That was odd. Again, Shore didn't think it wise to delve too deeply into the matter. He nodded at the other to show that he understood he did not need help. As long as this other wolf wasn't bleeding out, he saw no reason in pressuring any issue. No mortal danger, he'd save his own skin, thanks.

Still, Shore was a creature of social events, and he saw a promise for companionship in this event. Surely not a friendship. Those are rare and far between, but he liked to get to know everyone he stumbled across, if only because they knew nice woman. So he strode forward, tail low as often suited the omega, but body not yet shwoing signs of fear or submission one of his ranking should display. His head wasn't an omega, and his heart wasn't, but his body surely was.

"Shore," he said as he approached, smiling warmly, ears forward - except that one ear remained cocked in an odd fasion - tail swaying lighty to the side.

Ronove
"Shore?"

What, was that his name or something? Haplo stared at the male, ears flicking backwards. Maybe he should just... go. But then again, he didn't know anyone around here. Not really anyways.

The pale wolf sighed and stayed where he was. Maybe it would be better to make friends when he could. Who knew when they would come in handy? Alright. Haplo managed a faint tail wag, his ears pricking forwards again.

"You lost, or something?" He could have laughed, but it was the first thing that came to mind. Haplo himself really had no idea where he was. Sure, a river was THAT way, and the mountains THAT way. But... other than that?

"Because I can't help you there." Honesty was always the best policy. Partial truth was a great thing.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore nodded, yes that was his name, since they obviously weren't anywhere near any bodies of water. He'd never heard of a shore of rocks before in his life, but if there were some, this is where it would be. Shore chuckled at the tail wag of the other, nervous wolves were always interesting. Whether or not this wolf was truly edgy, he couldn't tell, but the quick changes in personality clearly hinted at some inner turmoil within the wolf.

"You aren't lost if you aren't going anywhere," he responded with a grin. He truly didn't have any particular place to go. Just wander, find women, and hopefully Crane somewhere along the way. Then he'd have somewhere to be. A place he was increasingly late in getting to, but there was no possible way he was facing Dakolin without Crane at his back.

"It seems to me," Shore said, with a look at the surroundings. "That we are on a large formation of lava rock, with a chance of scattered showers in the east, and no hope for female company anytime soon." His expression remained serious, as though it actually meant something. "A rather mudane day," he completed, a grin now coming to his face to show all before had been some semblance of an icebreaker.

"You lost?" he asked, instead of simply wondering 'if the wolf was going somewhere'. Blunt conversations like that were rude at best. The well trained mind would pick up both pieces and fit them together. It would allow them to answer without being pressured into giving information. Despite this, they seemed to tell him things anyway. All the same to Shore. He enjoyed information.

Ronove
"Yeah. Whatever."

Was this wolf crazy or something? Babbling on about lava rocks and women? And he carried himself like an omega. Haplo forced his sneer into a smile and listened politely. He despised omegas. Anyone who submitted to a stranger was a fool. Lifting his injured foot off the ground, he checked for blood staining the snow.

Nothing. Good.

"I'm not lost. I can't be lost." He didn't bother to elaborate. It was true, though - he really wasn't going anywhere in particular, so like Shore had said, he really couldn't be lost. The wolf rolled his shoulders in a shrug and settled back onto his haunches. The scent of his blood was rank in his nose - all the prey was probably frightened away by now.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore stopped his talking, paused, and sat. He cocked his head to the side, backing a few inches to get a better view of this wolf that had simply shrugged him away with a 'whatever'. Clearly not terribly bright, for he possessed the tongue of youth.

"Well, let's go somewhere, then, you and I, and get lost," he started forwards, his ears flicking. "The rocks make my paws sore," he told the grey as he began the descent. It shouldn't be too hard to get wherever they were going.

"Name a place, any place, and we'll go there." He was in the mood for an adventure, and being lost could be exciting. His eyes flashed, as he hopped down to the next escarpment and looked back to see if the grey was following.

Ronove
Haplo hesitated, shrugged, and got to his feet. What else did he have to do? A cryptic smile crept over his face as he listened to the purple male.

"Get lost? We can't. We're not going anywhere to begin with."

Why'd he have to meet the ones without connections? That was what he really needed. Others to meet, to confuse and draw to his side. He DIDN'T need strange omegas wandering lost in lava pits.

Of course, he'd been wandering in the same lava pit, so he supposed he wasn't much better after all.

"You can choose." For now, he was content to follow. It would be nice, though, if their path happened to coincide with that of an unfortunate preybeast's. The only blood he'd smelled recently was his own.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore chuckled rather darkly, you never let him choose places to go, he picked the worst ones. Little did the grey know how lost he could make them.

He hadn't walked a ways in a while, not in deliberation, at least. It was time to find Iriana, and Aphrodite, give them a pester or two. Maybe then he could introduce the fellow to the others. They always liked fresh meat to pester, and Shore enjoyed seeing those with thick skulls get them bashed in. Arrogance was bliss, to both sides.

"To the cliffs," he said, with a grin, and weaved his way through lava rocks with obvious practice. It would become very clear to the other now, that he had in fact, lived his whole life in these parts and knew them in and out. It was Dakolin, Aphrodite, and Iriana that were screaming their vengence in this world. They'd come to change it in dramatic and deadly ways.

- - -

Time wore on, and still he didn't say anything, the sun had begun to set on the horizon, and the invogorating charm of night began to envelope him. "Tomorrow, we'll watch the sun rise." And he'd give Iriana a damn good kick in the ribs, and maybe pay a nice visit to Dakolin. Wouldn't that be nice?

"Unless you'd rather rest the night?" Shore, himself, was hungry. He ate on a daily basis, unlike most wolves, and it most certainly showed. Of course, he hunted well, so heck, he really couldn't care how often he ate. He didn't have to look at himself everyday.

Ronove
Haplo didn't reply, although he cast a curious look sideways at the male when he laughed. This situation didn't particularily strike him as funny...

And it did indeed become obvious that Shore knew his way around the area. Not that Haplo was too suprised - the wolf looked well-fed and provided for, so he must know the area well enough to know how to hunt in it. He kept his eyes open, silently marking their progress with landmarks that he filed away in his mind.

- - -

Night was setting with a familiar quickness that never failed to suprise him. Summer days were so long, summer nights so welcoming. Winter... well, he felt like the threat of death hung over his head with the moon every night. Night was, admittedly, the best time to hunt though - he blended in even better, a pale specter in the white winter landscape.

"We can travel, I'm fine." The cut on his foot had long frozen over, and the leaf was still stuck to the wound to prevent a trail. "A meal would be welcome, though." He admitted with a wry grin. "You look like you know where the food is around here."

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Crane would have slapped him on the shoulder and said something along the lines of, 'Kid, you're talking to the finest hunter in all the world.' Shore just smiled. Smiled for the memory of Crane, and for the fact he was about to show this kid just how well he knew the food around here.

Without a second thought he dissapeared into the underbrush, weaving his way around the trees and crouching behind branches. If the other one followed, that was his choice, Shore just hoped he wouldn't get in the way.

It took him several hours to track down his prey, the bloody thing was giving him trouble. He quickly found out the reason why. There wasn't just one of the pheasants, but four, and they had been weaving in and around his nose in a confusing display. Shore pinned back his ears in annoyance. He wasn't up for games tonight, he had a point to prove.

"One off to the left, one to the right, and two dead center," he muttered to himself. He knew better to go for the one's straight in front of him, better to strike the one to the right, and toss all four into a flying confusion. Then he could slink around the tree and wait for them to land on the ground again, as a group. Make them feel safer.

If the grey had followed, he'd probably think Shore a complete idiot as he darted off after the one pecking at the ground. It was the farthest away, and far downwind. Then again, no one ever seemed to trust him. His tactics were far different than the accepted. "Move you vermin!" he shouted with a laugh as the birds gave a start and a worried alarm, fleeing as a giant mob towards the tree-limbs as he chased them down. Shore was out of sight before they'd landed, going downwind to wait.

Ronove
Haplo didn't, however, think he was a fool. He was intriged, and he thought he knew where Shore was going with his strange choices. After all, prey was easiest to catch when grouped together in a frightened mass.

Anything was easier to control when grouped together in a frightened mass. The pale wolf'd mouth cracked open in an amiable grin. Instead of taking part in the hunt, he chose to watch and hoped that Shore would share his meal. As a sign of friendship, of course. The wolf snickered and circled around to the downwind side as well.

Yeah, right. He'd catch his own prey tonight.

Crouching behind a scraggly bush, the male waited for Shore to make his move. When the purple wolf shot out to attack, he would be ready to catch what the other missed. Let him know that he wasn't the only one who could make a kill.

Not that he minded being underestimated, of course.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore hardly took notice to the male following close behind. What the grey did was perfectly acceptable to him. Seconds stretched by into minutes, but finally the birds started clocking lightly and fluttering. Shore fought the tremor in his muscles, he had to remain calm until the last second.

The first bird dropped, a bit too close, and Shore almost lunged forwards, but he had learned patience, and he had to hold still. A few moments later the second came, then the third. Shore didn't even give the fourth one a chance to think things over, as soon as he heard the flutter of those wings, he lunged, the fourth would drop into his mouth like a rock, frozen with fear. One would scatter into his body, and he couldn't care what happened to the other two. They could go on to live and make more pheasant's for him to eat. He only needed one pheasant for him, and the other for his travelling buddy.

Down went the third bird, lodged between his feet, and the last pheasant had no chance of escape, though it tried desperately to change course from his snapping jaws.

The two remaining went into a frightful spell.

Snap. One neck broken. Snap. The other, announcing the prey was now frighteningly still. Shore beamed with pride, and finally searched for the presence of the other wolf.

I'm Horribly Grump, You wouldn't understand

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
"Oh ******** you Shore!" Iriana snapped, trotting away at a high rate of speed.

"Fear is the heart of pain!" Shore shouted after her grinning, but he must have remained where he was, because his smell quickly receded into the distance.

Iriana picked up the pace once more, heartened by his vanishing stench - and smacked into the soft white fur of a much larger wolf. Cursing and falling on her buns, Iriana let out a growl and snapped her head up.

"Oh hell," she said, glaring at Aphrodite, who was smiling away. "Go away," she continued to snap, trying to make a circle around the much prettier female. "You make me look shitty, b***h."

"Language," Aphrodite responded, following the black wolf through the woods. Iriana didn't bother running away. It was a waste of energy and Aphrodite would just wake her up when she was sleeping besides.

"You know, just because we are a group, doesn't mean we actually have to stick together," the black snapped. "Don't you have an Alpha to attend to? Kara or something? b*****d Shore has worked with her, I'm sure."

"Oh don't judge Shore," Aphrodite said, a slight frown coming to her face, but it was soon gone.

"Oh yeah, I forgot. You and him, in the same business of pleasure." Iriana was way off, but she was searching for anything to gain some ground, which she was losing all too quickly.

"Mmmm. . . to bad for you, Dakolin isn't."

"SHUT UP!" Iriana angered again, deciding now that a dead sprint was needed to get rid of dear little Aphrodite.

RonsoStryder
Metal ridden ears flickered as a gentle breeze seemed to ruffle through his tapered array of spikes and straight, course hair that trailed to his shoulders and whisped it about. Tasubaa was a wanderer whose alligence was tied to his Alpha, Maverick, who had become the only wolf he held confidence and trust in. Because of this and their close bond as Alpha and Beta, the brute had decided that more wolves could be gathered to help build their pack and fortify brethren and sisters with strength and protection.

But having to roam by oneself never seemed boring if the individual had taken the forlorn route for so long. But, on this trip, the 'warrior' was reluctant to find himself with good company.

Drifting about the woods in an aimless and carefree nature, Tasubaa glanced over towards the right with his single eye upon the young wofless. "You didn't have to tag along, you know?" He commented, a slight frown upon his maw as his mildly gruff tone conveyed slight sympathy. "The last thing I wanted to do is have to drag you around when you could be helping others."

The young mind of the seer had been elsewhere- thinking of her mate and listening to the sounds around them. Her ears perked upwards as he began to speak and a small chuckle came forth.

"Tasu please!" She sighed, rolling her eyes as her curly tail swayed behind her. "You know that I needed a break and we both could use a little adventure. Besides, boredom hasn't set in and I'll tell you when I'm not having fun." Shaking her head as she strolled alongside him, the young Seer wrinkled her muzzle.

"You can't always have all of the fun," she teased, nipping at his ear playfully and wuffing softly.

A flush of pink seemed to bombard his cheeks but, thankfully, his fur did wonders in masking his emotions. Jaylin had always been a close friend ever since they had met within Mavericks pack and the future outlook of their pack seemed bright but a short vacation was in need for both Beta and Seer.

"Fun? I have to be serious when I'm on the job- but I don't think we're on the clock are we?"

"Nope."

"Good," he playfully growled as he pawed at her muzzle and suddenly dashed away. "Then you can catch me!"

Her jaw practically dropped as Tasubaa darted away insistng on having some playful fun. Who would have thought that 'fun' was in the males vocabulary or typical diction? As he tail lashed behind her with a hightened sense of excitement, Jaylin yipped as she too began sprinting after him and commencing the chase.

"TASU!" She yelled, dashing along within his trail as she wasted no time in lagging behind. But a sudden sensation- echoes of voices seemed to pierce her mind with a slight pain. Jaylin winced slightly but didn't let the pain bother her. But she was sure of one thing-

Others were closeby.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Had Iriana overheard, she surely would have puked. She hated the disgusting 'friendliness' that most wolves had with one another, especially mates. She wished that a giant cliff would appear and they'd all fall to their deaths. But she didn't think that was going to happen anytime soon.

"Iriana!" she could hear the calls of Aphrodite behind her, but she wasn't going to let that slow her down. Years as a messenger had crafted the finest muscles in the land, she could run forever, and fast. No one could stop her.

Her speed increased as her nose picked up the snent of another. She wasn't sure which direction it was coming from, everything was whizzing by so fast, and her brain didn't transfer things very well. A small growl came to her throat and she slammed on the breaks, attempting to weave the other way, and perhaps get away from that scent.

It took her few precious seconds to vanish into the foliage once more - and then another scent caught her nose. "Damn it!" Her footfalls skidded to a halt for the second time.

Strange scent on the right, Aphrodite behind, strange scent to the front. Or at least, that's what her mind told her. What to do?

She went straight for the scent on the right, hoping that maybe she could convince Aphrodite to leave. The white didn't particularily like herself being known. It seemed, except for annoying Iriana, solitude was on her book. Iriana couldn't argue with that logic.

Unfortunately for Iriana she wasn't terribly good with analyzing smells. The wolf had been closer than predicted - a running theme as it were - she slammed headlong into the male knwn as Tasubaa.

A yelp escaped her throat, and she felt something crack, and she hoped it wasn't her, or at least nothing permanent. "Watch where the ******** you're going!" she screamed, tumbling head over heels.

RonsoStryder
The mind of the brute whose pelt was like a wildfire of flames kept his body taunt and streamline; powerful legs outstretching and sweeping upon the ground as he occasionally glanced back only to see that Jaylin was falling behind.

A sly smirk curled upon his maw as he found that his skills as a 'warrior' and the years of training and testing his physical endurance were still paying off. The feathers within his tapered hair swayed while his ears fell close against his skull. Tasubaa wasn't going to let her catch up- Jaylin would have to push herself up a few notches if she ever hoped to pull ahead.

And that was unlikely.

Jaylin didn't have to call out to him or try to disrupt his focus as her mind had been prowling about the outskirts of his thought and only caused her to grin. It was funny that the male was so confident that he had the edge and reveled in his own strength, Jaylin knew that his strength was powerful, but seeing him pride in it only make her giggle and shake her head.

"Males," she grinned, continuing on with the chase until something caught her eye.

A black figure seemed to suddenly begin darting in the direction of the fiery male and the fur upon the back of the seer began to stand on end. Who was that? What did they want? Were they coming after Tasu? Her teeth gritted as her ears fell agaisnt her skull. "What did he do now?" She grimmaced.

His past was not something that was 'pure' or unblemished; it was something that he rarely spoke of but the woulds and loss of his eye could easily convey what he had faced and what he had endured through. Jaylin could only hope that this wasn't anything drastic.

The collision had seemed so sudden as the loss of his left eye had hindered his ability to see. With the sudden thrust of a body into his, the fiery male toppled towards the left as his shoulder slammed into the unforgiving ground of compacted dirt and scattered rocks and the side of his face with the scarred eye slid over rocks and gravel that cut into his fur and skin. As his body laid limp for a moment, the male hackled slightly as he staggered to his paws.

"Damnit. Watch it! Don't go effin' starting to pull the trigger when you're just as guilty," he growled, his fur bristling as warm blood oozed from his fresh gashes upon the left side of his face.

Everything seemed to happen so fast that even Jaylin felt as if her head was spinning. Trailing up towards both Tasu and the wolfess who collided into him, she furrowed her brows with concern.

"Are you alright?" She inquired of both Tasu and the unfamiliar wolfess?

"Fine," he spat. The taste of blood seeping within his maw as he stifled a growl and narrowed his single eye towards the wolfess. "Why the hell are you in such a rush?"

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana growled, kicking out with her back legs to try and turn on her belly. Her head ached from where it had hit the other wolf. A good thrust brought her quickly to her feet, her brown eyes darting around the area. She wasn't sure what trigger meant, but she knew it was some sort of insult.

"Shut your trap, red boy," she growled at him, tiptoing out of harms way. She couldn't risk his jaws coming down on any place. It would truly prove fatal.

"What do you care?" she mumbled, crawling over to a tree and plopping down beside it, shaking her head to and fro. Her ears, they rang and rang. When would it stop. She blinked twice, the world in front of her going fuzzy and she made an attempt to stand once more. The blackness surged over her eyelids in a flurry of spots, and she lost her balance and fell - just in time for her eyes to clear up again. "Damn it!"

"Oh!" came the sound from the white, who had just now caught up. Her breaths were coming lightly, it was clear she had merely been walking. Iriana left a large scent. "See what happens when you run away?" Aphrodite chuckled lightly, flicking her gaze over the others.

"No doubt she was trying to get away from me," Aphrodite said with a wink. "I can be a little rough sometimes." Again, the soft laughter.

"I don't like what you're implying, b***h," Iriana snapped, releasing a groan.

"And who are you?" Aphrodite said sweetly, her gaze turning towards Jaylin.

RonsoStryder
Tasubaa gave a devious smile of glistening, pearly whites at the female. He'd heard better insults before but he wasn't going to instigate another fight with Jaylin here- oh she'd probably mess around with his head and make him believe that he was some sort of object rather than a wolf!

Whoever was responsible for giving her powers- let's just say he needed to have a heart to heart reconciliation of trying to limit them.

"Well it wasn't as if the paniced expression on your face couldn't cue in a distress," he replied, his tail with the illusion of fire sweeping behind him in a slightly irritated display. But the big red wasn't all bad, heartless or cold- no, he did have a sensitive side. As he took several steps in knowing that he could at least help her, another wolfess appeared within the commotion.

Jaylin had stood silently beside Tasu, watching and biting her lower lip as the two seemed to quarrel and snap with words rather than jaws, which was a relief no doubt! As the white wolfess approached, the young Seer smiled warmly.

"I'm Jaylin and this is Tasubaa," she replied, glancing up towards the male and tapping him with his paw. "We were just passing through and didn't mean to barge in. Tasu has a bad habit of not being able to see," she teased.

He jostled slightly but focused his lone eye upon both females with the best smile he could muster. "It's a pleasure. And whom might you and the other wolfess be?" But as the comment came, he wrinkled his muzzle and furrowed his brows.

"I can see fine," he growled softly.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana knew she wasn't very bright, and inults were certainly not her forte, so when the other worked his way over, she stuck out her tongue and inched away yet again. She wanted nothing to do with any of them, least of all Aphrodite.

"Mmm," Aphrodite responded to the names, giving Iriana careful glances. She didn't want the black wolf slithering away. Not that she wasn't easy to find again.

"Aphrodite," she answered curtly, flicking another glance towards Iriana, who was scowling. It didn't appear as though she was going to give anyone her name.

"They can rot in hell," she snapped at the continuous staring of the white wolf. Aphrodite turned her eyes to the sky and let out a sigh. Iriana was right, they didn't want to go giving out names, but she didn't want to be suspicious, and lying was certainly out of the question. She wouldn't be a Phantom and tell them Retsu.

"You just go on thinking that, fire-a**," Iriana told him. "If I were a tree, I'd be scared shitless." Iriana had managed to bring herself to quivering feet. It was apparent her sight was going in and out.

"Iriana sit!" Aphrodite scolded. "You probably have a concussion, and you won't get far. Besides, these people are hospitable enough."

Iriana growled and tripped, carefully sticking out her whiskered snout to try and detect upcoming things. "I'm not staying around with these loons," she balked, making a few more feet of headway.

"She's just grumpy. She can get that way after. . . "

"WOULD YOU STOP WITH THE IMPLICATIONS!!!" The black wolf screamed right before she stumbled forwards once again.

"Oh dear," Aphrodite said with a chuckle. "She won't get very far," she dismissed and turned her attention back to the pair. "What brings you out here?"

RonsoStryder
"It's a pleasure to meet you Aphrodite," Jaylin nodded as her own gaze of cerulean orbs seemed to glance over towards the disgruntled black wofless.

She was fiesty.

Tasubaa flickered his metal ridden ears and chuckled deeply. His metal anklets around his paws clinked together as he settled himself upon his haunches and mused with a grin. "Hell? I'm afraid I've already been there and back. But you're welcome to tag along and stay for a while- they miss you there."

"Stop it!" She thrusted her paw into his side with a scowl across her maw.

"What?"

"Tasu..."

As the next insult hit his ears, the fiery male pinned his ears against his head. "Watch your tongue!" He growled with a snap of his jaws, "or the little tree might find my jaws wrapped around its limb."

"TASU KNOCK IT OFF!" She hackled, nipping at him and trying to keep him in line. Looking back towards Aphrodite, Jaylin bit her lower lip. "He get's a little angsty once in a while but he's a good guy," she reassured, hoping that he wouldn't be too much of an embarassment.

Furrowing his brows as he thumped his tail behind him and tried to pay no attention towards the black wolfess, Tasubaa sheepishly smiled.

"We're out locating more packmembers for our alpha as well as seeking out a good friend of ours- well, my uncle actually. He wanders off and has no set home but I was hoping to at least catch him along the way but Shaman are always tricky to find," Jaylin sighed, hoping to at least come somwhere close into finding Reno and Sorenth once again.

"Are you from around these parts of the woods?"

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Aphrodite thought Jaylin had no reason to be embarrassed. Afterall, it was Iriana who was being the grumpy satanic here. And she had to admit, Tasubaa was not to shabby at comebacks. No wonder Iriana was so touchy.

"Oh put a stick in it," Iriana muttered, giving up on the walking and resorting to crawling on her stomach. It was clear she was losing this word war, and her head ached. Just a bit too much. "Unf," she muttered flopping onto her side, ears rotating to catch the sounds of the others as her head rested on the ground, eyes closwed.

"That's alright," Aphrodite sympathized. "Iriana talks a lot, but really, she's far too tiny to do anything dangerous." Besides, Aphrodite added to herself, it would put her out of a job, and probably mean her death. She couldn't blame the black for putting up a defense.

"Well, I've already got a pack," she said calmly. "And good luck getting little tree over there to join up, no one would want her anyway." A small growl of retort echoed from behind them. Aphrodite seemed not to notice. "I've never searched for one," she mused, losing herself in thougts again.

"Alas, no we're not. Rather passing through. I'm not sure what she's doing here, but I'm on my way back home. Met a friend of mine, a good deal from here." That friend she met was Rem, and by friend, she meant with benifits.

"Perhaps I've seen this Shaman of yours. Does he have a name?"

RonsoStryder
"If you keep fidgeting around your gonna be stuck whimpering in pain for hours," Tasubaa remarked, a bit dryly but he had good intentions. If it truly was a concussion there certainly was no sense in trying to flee as there were severe complications that could arise. As the black wolfess flopped onto the ground, he grinned.

"Just stay there for a bit."

Jaylin nodded and kept a smile tucked at the corner of her maw. She couldn't help but glance back towards the other wolfess and shrug her shoulders. "You'd be surprised," she chuckled softly, "we'd take in anyone if they needed a safehaven or somehwere to just belong. Maverick's not picky at all."

Tasubaa thumped his tail once again upon the ground and nodded his head as well.

"Maverick's pack is based upon the idea of taking in those who are packless, who have been exhiled and those who have no home to return to. We'll take vagabonds and any sort."

As Aphrodite inquired of her uncle, Jaylin's ears perked up while her curly tail swayed gently behind her. "His name is Reno. He has checkers running from his eyes to his jaws, a checkered tail and wears a strange talismen necklace. Oh, and he has an eagle whose always perched upon his shoulder."

"He's a bit of a differnt sort but he's got a good heart and a kind soul."

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana regarded Tasubaa with a scowl, but that was all. She had no choice but to take his advice, not that she hadn't planned on staying anyway.

"I'm not so sure she wants to belong," Aphrodite whispered, knowing for a fact it was true. Iriana was definately not a pack wolf, she'd rather be dead than group together in a 'family.' Aphrodite didn't know what the strong repulsion was to it all, but it was certainly there.

"Well that's certainly something," she told them, desperately hoping Wren didn't get word of this. A pack where she could laze around and thieve at her will without having to listen to the Arcane circle. She imagined the pink and black would be all for it.

"No, I can't say I've seen him, or even heard of him." She paused. "But I note the resemblance." A nod of her head confirmed it.

"But alas, I must be going, I have to get back, alpha's expecting no doubt." In fact, there was no 'alpha'. Last she'd seen Kara the red was still undecided, but that didn't mean things hadn't changed.

"Little tree?" she called, rising. "Are you staying there, or coming." She received a groan in response.

Shrugging, Aphrodite went on her way, to leave Tasuuba and Jaylin to do what they would with Iriana.

Even though Tasubaa hadn't been the kindest of souls towards the black wolfess, he couldn't help but furrow his brows slightly.

"Not want to belong? That's what I thought a long time about before my own Alpha took away my eye with his own claws and banished me from my own home," he spoke, a slight gruff tone to his voice but he meant well. "Whether one believes it or not- every wolf belongs somewhere even if its someplace they've yet to discover."

It was a concept that Tasu has once bristled to hear: "join a pack". Even the words once brought chills to his spine and knotted his stomach in a sickly fashion. Even though he had been betrayed as his own pack sought after his life, the fiery beta had managed to esteem trust once again within such a life he once knew. But learning of the black wolfesses defense and beliefs that she could never belong and didn't want to belong, he could sympathize with her.

A slight sigh escaped from the young seers maw as she slumped her shoulders momentarily but kept her head high. "I'm sure we'll run into him soon," she replied as she glanced up toward Tasu, "but it would be nice if we had a sign from him or something once in a while."

As Aphrodite was quick to leave and return to her own alpha, both Tasubaa and Jaylin nodded but looked back over towards the black wolfess. Furrowing her brows slightly, Jaylin began to slowly pad towards the wolfess who was lying upon the ground.

"Are you okay?" Jaylin softly spoke, slinking down onto her stomach as she kept a comfortable distance between herself and the other wolfess.

Tasubaa slowly followed behind and planted himself next to Jaylin, keeping quiet for now.

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana's situation of belonging was far different. She supposed she 'belonged' in the arcane circle, but it hardly counted as a pack. It certainly wasn't friends. Like a wolf version of the mafia, one could assume.

She'd been listening to them talk to and fro the whole while, and most of it had made little sense to her small brain. She shifted to make herself more comfortable, humming to the throb in her head. The self-perscribed music wasn't helping her much.

"Huh?" she mumbled, confused at the situation of things. It took her a few blinks to remember what was going on. They were coming to check on her.

"Just a headahce," she answered, unconditionally kind. "Thanks for your concern." Then her head snapped back into shape.

"Why?!" she defensed. "You planning on eating me if I'm dead or something?" Visions of cannibals played with her mind.

RonsoStryder
Jaylin blinked several times as her kindness was not expected but before she was going to open her maw and speak, the personality she was expecting seemed to snap back. The young seer rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"No," she replied, "I'm not a cannibal and we're just checking to see if we can help you get back on your feet."

Tasubaa couldn't help but grin and try his best to stifle laughter. His tapered hair swayed before his lone, right eye as he tilted his head slightly. Curosity of why the female hesitated on why she couldn't belong still tinkered with his mind.

"Jaylin might not plan on eating you but certainly other wolves lurking around might if they see that you're unable to defend yourself and stay out here like a sitting duck," he mentioned, his tail thumping upon the ground as he inched closer.

"Don't bite my head off for asking but is it hard to find a place to belong in? You can't be happy rummaging alone by yourself all the time- believe me, I've done it for most of my life."

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
"Good luck," Iriana told her. Unless she was a shaman, there was no hope of a measly wolf fixing her headache. Iriana would have to get up and move on her own.

"Hmph," she responded to Tasubaa, and poked an eye open. The fading of her eyesight had gone, maybe she could stand up on her own now. Grumbling some more, and pretending the pair was not hovering several feel away, she flipped her body over and then completed the arc to her feet, glaring them all down as if she had proven something.

"I have a place," she told him calmy. "I don't rummage. That's Shore's job."

Speaking of, that scent sprang suddenly into her head. Why the hell didn't the purple wolf just leave her alone?

"Sleeping on the job?" the purple and yellow wolf chided as he grew closer. Iriana frothed at the mouth, but said nothing.

"Everybody, this is Shore," she noted sarcastically.

The wolf gave a wink towards Jaylin.

RonsoStryder
Both Tasubaa and Jaylin seemed to watch as the black wolfess staggered to get her bearings and stumbled to her feet. The young Seer pursed her lips and scooted away from the wolfess.

As for Tasu, he gave a suttle grin. There was something about her that made him want to really dive deep into what really troubled her. He wasn't a stupid wolf- he could discern discomfort and there certainly was something that seemed to trouble her. But it was highly unlikely that she would ever key him in or open up like that.

That was wishing for too much.

As yet another wolf made an appearane, Jaylin's eyes narrowed as they fell upon the purple and yellow hued wolf once again. It seemed as if there was to be expected another unfamilair encounter but it just so happened that it was that smooth talker, the cunning wolf she had run into a while back.

Jaylin smirked. "I know who he is," she commented, nodding her head in respect to the male.

"It's been a while hasn't it, Shore? It's good to see you again- though a bit unexpected."

With Shore coming into the mix, Tasubaa lowered his head in respect as well as his single eye settled upon the male. "Names, Tasu," he introduced, glancing towards Jay. "Are you a friend of hers?"

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore hadn't expected that response, but perhaps he'd been remembering b***h, and not Jaylin. The green and black wolf had given him a pain.

"I ran across someone the other day," he said allowed, apparently not with the subject. "He reminded me of you." Perhaps that was why he had taken such a distinct liking to the boy.

"A good while. Did you find that place you were looking for?" It was only curteous to ask, and for now, he held off the banter - besides, there was a male here, and it seemed as though he was feigning some interest in Iriana.

"We've met," he answered Tasu, and looking at Iriana. Her mouth was half open. Shore knew far too many souls for his own good. Honestly! What would Dakolin say of him?

RonsoStryder
The wolfess furrowed her brows, tilting her head in a slight angle. "Ran across someone who reminded you of me?" She repeated, curious as to who could have possibley crossed paths with the witty purple and yellow hued wolf.

Tasubaa bit his lower lip, metal ridden ears flickering slightly. "I see," he commented, looking back and forth from Jay to Shore. Rather than interrupting, the fiery beta drifted away from them and drew a bit closer towards Irianna.

He was still curious. And he certainly couldn't help it.

"Feeling better?" He asked softly with a low gruff tone, his tail swaying behind him as he settled a good distance away from her.

"I did," Jaylin smiled, her curly tail wagging merrily behind her. "I couldn't have found it without your directions and I owe you for that. "Her mind suddenly clicked with a thought, maw gaping open slightly as she looked towards Shore with a slight amusement.

"You ran into Reno didn't you?"

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Shore briefly had a thought. What if there was a wolf named Ran. Then he could have ran across Ran. It brought a smile to his lips, goodness he had to stop thinking in strange concepts.

Iriana was not so impressed by the goings-ons. She had just managed to get rid of Aphrodite, and now Shore had to show up all over again. Today was not her day. And now this male, it bugged her.

She stood, and stared at him, her eyes blinking. "I - uh." This was confusing. Most of the time the wolves gave up on her. Why wasn't this one. "Fine," she decided upon.

Shore thought for a moment and nodded, one ear going back as his tongue lolled in and out of his mouth. "Friend of yours?" he asked, peering towards Tasubaa.

RonsoStryder
Tasu furrowed his brows but displayed a gentle smile- well, the best one he could muster. Stepping closer, Tasu kept a comforatble distance between them while his lone, right eye settled upon her.

"Heads not throbbin' too bad is it?" He questioned, going slow and hoping that she wouldn't lash out again or try to maul him. For all he knew it was one false move and her fangs would perhaps seek to try and tear out his other eye. Oh, that would be a hell of a bloody mess!

"I didn't mean to run into you- I'm not too good with seeing..."

Jaylin glanced towards the fiery, large statured beta and smirked. "We've been good friends for a while," she replied, looking back towards Shore. "I thought I'd tag along with him as he helps his alpha find more members for their pack and, in the mean time, I'd try and find Reno."

"How far away from here was the place you last saw him?"

Kealdrana Sasaiuni
Iriana sat down and gawked. What the hell? This was strange. He was innitiating some sort of conversation, and it wasn't unkind. She glared at him. He reminded her of Shore.

"What's your game?" she asked him, furrowing her brows.

Shore chuckled at Iriana. He didn't think there was a person in the world who didn't like the pester the hell out of her, which was what Tasu was doing, quite well.

Shore nodded at Jaylin, understanding her situation. They were most obviously related, her and Reno. They had that same slight temperament.

"Hmm. . ." Shore thought for a moment, he wasn't very good with the direction of things. "I can't say, but I doubt he stayed where he was, besides." Of course, she probably already knew that.

RonsoStryder
"My game?" He mused, such an odd question for anyone to ask him. Furrowing his brows as his maw mused a small, confused expression, Tasu shook his head. "Why would I waste my time messing around in a game? Can't anyone have at least the decency to show a bit of chivalry or kindness?"

His fire tipped tail swayed gently behind him as his single eye whose own hue was like that of a raging wildfire seemed to settle upon her, calm and serene with no malice or vengefulness abidng within it.

"You haven't been shown alot of due respect, have you?"

Jaylin was relieved to hear that at least someone had seen Reno and knowing that he was off wandering and healing other wolves made her heart sing! Oh, but she couldn't wait to tell her uncle the news!

"No worries," she smiled, her curly tail swaying in an upbeat manner. "It's good to know that he's off and wandering abou the woods along with Sorenth."
