Arwen's jaw dropped very slightly as she actually began paying attention to the concert. The music was sublime and she felt it coursing through her in a most unusual way. Idly, she found herself leaning back against the wall, hands clasped over her heart as she wondered to herself wether she had the ability to sing at all.

Amelia listened to the siren's sad song, her heart falling. Nehna was affecting her mood, she realized, and tears began to roll down her cheeks as the haunting melody filled her ears and soul. She cried for a 'love gone stale'.

((Awww, I bet Arwen would sing so prettily! eeeeeee! heart )) Nehna I dreamed I saw on a moonlit stair Spreading his hand to the multitude there A man who cried for a love gone stale And ice cold hearts of charity bare I watched as fear took the old man's gaze Hopes of the young in troubled graves 'I see no day' I heard him say So grey is the face of every mortal... Grave heard the words and began to shiver... So perfectly could he envision the moonlit stair, it's frozen and hardened multitudes clinging to themselves, turning cold shoulders to the starving and desperate folk of a world long since washed away. As grave thought on the words, the world of which the unknown author of the song sang seemed to flicker to dull and greying life within his mind. Bleak, barren, hollow....Grave could feel his chest constrict with sorrow, with hopelessness. What manner of world had it been? That world out beyond the edges of the war? Grave was unsure he wanted to know. He drew Amelia's hand into his lap and held it warmly between his pale hands, seeking some form of warmth, something physical to counter the crisp and lonely image woven by the music.

Tears did not come to Arwen's eyes as they did to so many others. Instead, her mind was sent spiraling to much of what she'd stayed up all night reading. Faint glimpses of what worlds might have been, what worlds could still be. Little lines of prose wrapped themselves around the song lyrics in Arwen's mind and she let out a soft sigh of longing. But cry? No. Maybe she just didn't know how. Maybe she was incapable.
((hee hee... we'll have to wait for music lessons to find out!))

For her cool coloration, Amelia had quite warm hands--and lucky for Grave, as his were like ice. She pulled herself from her reverie when she felt him pull her hand into her lap, and she looked over to him, slightly concerned as his icy palms met hers. She covered his other hand with her spare one, and turned back to the stage, closing her eyes to envision the scene that Nehna was singing about. Every time, her thoughts lingered on icy hearts and abandoned loves...
