Mozz growled as he fought back against imposing visage of darkness, but thankfully he got thrown toward the wall, where his moss had been more the happy to put of a pad. The final result was a smile wind knockout as Mozz struggled for air, which was much better then say…broken spine.
Between coughs he pulled himself up, still aware of the monster currently a few feet from his face. And so the super hero weakly swung a left hook, covered in thorns, but with little power behind it.
(dinner, hope to be back before I am killed)

Joseph Brown Instead Victoria was greeted by a shade wearing a work belt and hammering some boards onto the wall. Veronica was just as freaked out as the shade was. For one thing she had never seen one before, on the other what kind of person really work a work belt? Was it going to start singing YMCA anytime soon?
But that was a topic not for this time.
Instead she did the first thing that came to mind. Obviously this was not a good place to be if more of these things were around. She needed to do something in order to keep it from calling for help.
Leg out in her crouch, hands on either side to rub up it. "Shh...dont' gotta say a thing...umm...you even a boy? Ah well not like it matters." Not like she could really tell. God this thing was kind of creepy in a really drug-tastic way.

"I really wish I knew what was going on." The workman Shade said flatly.
"I suppose you're someone we hired to watch out for us, eh?" It was the same talkative shade from earlier, "God knows we need it with the..."
At that moment the dam exploded in the distance.
"Well s**t."
---------
The shade had put up his dukes, though his dukes were armoured and made of hardend dark matter. Thus he was easly able to deflect the weak punch and deleiver a counter attack in the form of a right hook to the gut.
But the assualt didn't last long. The Shade was really distracted by the expolosions in the distance.

"...Happen to know what that was?"
After having figured out the shade would not fall to her feminine charms, Veronica decided it was not worth it and just stood. And wiped the dust and stuff off her poncho after the crawl. You would think they would keep these nasty ruins clean. With that done she put a hand on her hip and shrugged.
"So like...what are you doing anyway?" Casual conversation tone. It would have been questionable if she even knew she was talking to one of the Settler's enemies. Instead she seemed intent to peer over it curiously behind her goggles.

OOC Sorry for the double post.
I'm going to sleep, but this is not really an ideal situation for me to just suddenly...super-stealth. So is it at all positive to pause this wonderful little conversation on my end - Meaning Danimal can respond whenever - until I get back on early tomorrow morning?
I just got cut off from the Village, so Veronica porting back does not make sense.
M'kay Night.

[Edited repost to fix Andu's ineptness crying ] Sey and her Guardian drifted into the expanse of the lake's region. The trip and the air helped Sey get a hold of herself, and concern for her comrades filled her. Had they escaped? Where were they? She knew Stryphe was all right - she'd definitely know otherwise - but what of the others? Grey eyes wide, Sey peered down to the ground and water below, scanning for any familiar forms. Logs, mostly, and other debris, but amongst that she saw a form. "Eint, get me closer." The Guardian obliged, and when they approached, she recognized Hakan's seemingly-lifeless body. She gasped, then commanded Eint to set her on the lake's shore and retrieve the fallen archer. The Guardian darted over and bore Hakan's body from the water, carrying the man to his mistress. Sey sighed in relief; he was alive, but may have suffered many injuries she couldn't see. When Eint set him down, Sey carefully rolled Hakan on his side and pounded his back as cautiously as she could, to help bring up any water he might have swallowed. While performing this action, she began murmuring the words of a prayer, drawing on Falis' mercy to restore Hakan's health. Quote: Heal - Heals a target's major wounds (Stab wounds, arrow wounds, sword slashes, broken limbs, etc.) by channeling healing energy into the injured area. Shattered bones cannot be mended. Unclean fractures must be set before healed, lest the bones heal unevenly.

Flare got washed up into the lakeside ruins, drifting ashore, and bleeding rather heavily.
It would be nice if we could all assume the shades notice her and give her some kind of medical attention.
If not, the demoness would use the fire she had been charging all this time on herself - cauterizing her own wounds and screaming with the pain as she did so. This also had the unfortunate effect of setting her clothing on fire.
Fortunately, her hair and body were near impervious to flame. The initial barrage had been just hot enough to cauterize her wounds...the resulting clothing fire wasn't hot enough to do any harm to her. Though it might make it difficult for the shades to treat her.
And it was in that state, bullet-ridden and on fire, that Flare finally gave up on being conscious for the day.

Hakan coughed some as the water was pounded out of him, more than a little being coughed out of his body. When that was over, the magic hit him, closing the hole in his shoulder. Hopefully the arrowhead still in there had been removed, or the healing wouldn't really help much.
Slowly, he opened his eyes some, glancing at the white mage and forcing a single word out.
"...thanks..."

"Goddamned... water..."
The words spilled out from a sore throat, even as the he struggled to raise himself to his feet. The peices of platform and apparently cushioning effect of dead bodies had done much to stem the worse of the flooding-- although those directly in its path to begin with would have had it worse anyway.
His right hand still clutched hold of his Fang, the blade's hilt burned deeply into his palm, as he craned his head and stared upwards.
Well... that's one annoyance down.
The good thing was that the wound in his shoulder had been cleaned out. The bad was all the ******** splinters he felt on his body at the moment.
He saw nothing but dead bodies, and of course, the scream of someone did much to grab his attention.
His vest was in tatters, leaving him all but bare chested, as he began picking his way forward, heading to where he felt the heat.

Any of the ones that got to shore would obviously be noticed by the dutiful shades, and taken to a makeshift place to stay. The accomidations were sparse like most Shade structures, but were also enough for people that were barely in consciousness.

Now that he was conscious, Sey smiled and began to briskly search him for external injuries. The arrowhead was discovered, and she frowned. Enough of the shaft remained that she could probably yank it free. It's hurt like a b***h, but she could manage.
"This will hurt... I'm sorry." Sey scrunched up her face, took a deep breath, and gave a mighty 92 lb. yank. It gave a little, but clung tenaciously. Biting her lip, she repeated the action, tugging it away, along with some flesh. Immediately her hands were over the wound she had aggravated, Healing power mending the worst of it.
It was then the scream came -- Flare? Last she remembered, the demon had been grievously wounded. She looked at Hakan, eyes wide. "I need to find her."
She then got to her feet, hesitating beside the archer, bloody broken arrow still clutched in her hand.

Hakan was already starting to stand up, determined to make himself useful. An arrowwound was nothing he couldn't move with, even if it's keep him from fighting effectively.
And so, he also forced a grin.
"Go help her, whoever it is. She surely needs it more than me."

Flare was ready to go out like a light. Her eyes closed, her clothes burning...it probably would be pretty easy for Vahn to find her, if the shades didn't get there first.
She opened her eyes, barely able to make out who was before her through the shifting light of the flames.
If it hadn't been for her connection with Owle, she wouldn't have recognized him at all. But as things were...how could she not?
"Your...Owle's..." She didn't know if he was friend or foe. He was a mercenary, he could have been hired by Skinner just as easily as he could have come as last minute help for the Shades.
"I'm her sister," she got out, the words slowing. If this was who she thought it was, he wasn't likely to harm her, knowing that.

((Alright, I'm off to bed then. Let's put this on pause till morning, shall we?
I'd say...Vahn is near me, since he posted coming to get me first. Sey is approaching, and so are some shade NPCs.))
