Ivan recorded as much data as he could within ten minutes. After that point, he began to move out, using his cyberbrain to send out a radio message silently back to the HQ. It was obvious this place was fortified. They were preparing and prioritizing for an all out charge, with many laborers building entrenchments. Those entrenchments were going to be too much to easily overwhelm. It was a solid military decision.
He decided to move. Using the border of the woods as his cover, he began to move stealthily towards the lakeside ruins, removing the sunglasses as he went.

V quickly moved from where he was darting across the plains to the lake side ruins.

Still ghosting V's footsteps, a drunken shinto priest and five shades shakily make their way down from the rough trail onto the plains. "Whew! Look at that countryside! Keep walking boys, gotta make it all yours..."

Finally reacting to something Kami said, the Shades almost ran off to the Lakeside Ruins without him. The monk had to run to keep ahead of them so he could get his bearings at their objective...

As he entered the field Shouyin entered into a full-out run, his passage hadn't been long enough to rely on the rifle, so he'd have to move quickly lest he get picked off while attempting to get close to the ruins. For a few moments he gripped the Mark II in his teeth by the hilt, withdrawing the pistol from its holster at his right hip and a silencer from the pouch near his left hip, but closer to his navel. The device was quickly screwed onto the barrel before the half-golem withdrew the knife from his mouth.
He didn't know what everyone else had planned for this assault, and he wasn't going to risk any chatter while running through the fields in the middle of the night, but it was always better to start off quiet right? The grass parted roughly as he continued on.

Shouyin finally spared himself one of those devilmaycare grins, getting pumped as he neared the edge of the grasslands. It was ******** -go time-, and however short-lived it might be, he knew it'd never entirely disappoint.
His pace was slowed and he crouched down, nearing the ruins silently.

((I think it's safe to say the defenses are complete by now? No one seems to have interfered with the work in any way, right?
Posting IC in a few. Still catching up on current events.))

Earthen works, trenches, pits, all done. Daniel smiled, looking over the plains. It wasn't unbreakable, not by a longshot, considering the varying powers, and technology that could be brought against it. But it should handle the peasant rushes, which was what he figured was the best the villagers could do.
He turned to one of the shades in the fortified ruins, one he named Ed. One of those fancy little bishop types, "Good job man."
With one last look over the defenses, he gave his final order to the shade, "Keep having, at their convience, the Jagged Peak shades ferrying down rocks. Ain't no wall that can't be made better by making it taller and thicker."
With that done, he gave the shade a salute. Apple in hand, absently munched on every fourth step, he climbed the earthen works, down the trench, and back up the other side. It was time for Al, Ben, and Con to form up, and head out with him.

His three man team came fairly quickly, Daniel giving each of them a nod as they arrived.
"Status Report Con," he snapped off. He had, after all, been stuck here, working on the defenses for quite some time.
Con's eye seemed to go distant. A moment later his cold, unnatural voice came.
"There is trouble. Over this way." With a point towards the lakeside ruins.
s**t.
An attack, this close? With his shades not having time to practice here?
"Tell the shades here to remain ready for battle. Get me all the shades we can spare!"
Con nodded, a moment later, a few of the dark figures started pouring out of the forts. Very few. All in all, Daniel saw one Bishop, 7 pawns, and a Rook.
It wasn't much... but they would need a secure fall back point.
Daniel nodded, "Tell them to form up on me, two rank phalanx, keep the rook in the middle, flank with pawns, and the bishop and I will take the rear with you Con."
Orders recieved, he started the march towards the Lakeside Ruins. 4 pawns on either side of a rook at point, and one bishop, pawn, and human behind.
"Careful men!" he called out. After all, no use rushing, and tripping over their own defenses. Still, they were making good time towards the Ruins.

Daniel was barking out orders for Con to pass on, as they marched.
"Break the seige. When we get there, wedge formation, rook at the center. Aim to break the center of their lines. Pawns follow up, widening the breach.
Con, you remain in contact with the shades, if things start going bad, give them word to prepare for combat, and expect our return, with enemy hot on our tails.
Bishop, the last two shades on either flank, and I will try to hold the gap. Be prepared to retreat or forge ahead on my mark. Focus on keeping the formation scattered. Sow Chaos. Kill any commanders you see.
Rook, and the front two shades of each flank, get to the base, link up with the defenders there. Pass on their words. If they want to stand and fight, tell Con, and we'll charge in. If they need Evac, let us know, and we'll hold the door open."
Emergencies. Lack of tactical information and planning. This was going to be a lot uglier than he wanted. Hopefully they could take the besiegers by surprise... that was all they had going for them in this plan...
Soon, they would be at the battlefield. No more time for doubts. Daniel readied his pistol, took and deep breath, and cleared his mind.
((Heading towards the battle))

He hated plains- really wasn't sure what the Knights thought of them. Probably didn't like them either.
They all ran like hell through them anyways.

((Since no one seems fit to stop us...))
Enter the shades, or what was left of them, and their heroes. Daniel was rushed off, carried by two pawns, towards the shade side ruins, and the base that was built up there. It was slow, it was long going. After all, thsi land was transformed under his command.
It was pocked with all manner of what were effectively horsetraps. Small, shallow pits with sharp stones. Enough to impale and cripple an unprotected foot. Hell, even if it was protected, enough to possibly twist their ankle, or send them falling.
Then, the trench around the base's perimeter. Nice and deep. wide enough to be hard to for the average joe to leap across. And on the otherside of that, a massive, sloping wall of earth and rock.
Finally they got him inside, layed down on the place he slept last night, and started to tend his wound.
((Also note the two big trenches on the forest side of things, and the similar horse trap type pits beyond them. No free rides people! Pay attention to the heavily trapped, heavily defended area! ninja
And now I must go. Super Stealth Mode!))
