The boatman came back because for some reason he still went despite the ongoing attack. Of course, he had told Kiketsu, Shin, Uzuki and Shimura that this was his last trip and that there was no way he was going back to all that mayhem. Once he reached the shores of the island he pointed towards the volcano where all the people were.
"They can help you," he said. "Despada is the boss."
[I am assuming that you are coming.. XD]

Kiketsu was first to leave the boat. His skull glanced around staring at the new territory. The road was black and charred as if a volcanic catastrophe had occurred years earlier. The island still did not recover. In the distance the snake like youth could see a formation of some people around stands. This occurred closer to the brim of the volcano. The boy’s brain began to wonder just who would congregate around a volcano. Well as long as it was not active…
The snake child turned back to the boatsman. “Who and where is this Despada?” his voice ordered while lime eyes returned to viewing the shady citizens.

[His skull glanced around... burning_eyes Vizard and Monke have been logging on, they should come back..]
"Despada is the craziest b***h alive," the boatman spoke somewhat reverently, despite his language. "Spry as a chicken despite her age and as brave as anything. She could beat you down in a verbal fight anytime. She's the oldest of us, and the wisest." This was said matter-of-factly.
"I'm going home to my family," he told the four. "Despada has a grandson who works in the Kage's office, but he's been sick for the past two weeks. I don't know why you're here, but if you want something, Batou and Despada are the way to go. They're up there, see that short woman?" the boatman pointed, before leaving quickly.
The gypsies' course of action had been pretty much determined. They were going to do nothing unless it looked like the Earth Master was coming here. Only Batou was feeling uncertain because of his loyalties towards his friends, Andou and Cassie...

[Since we're on a grim island I figured skull would be a nice use for a description ^^. Should I Pm Vizard and Monke?]
“Feh. Sounds like a crazy, homeless hag.” Kiketsu sneered as his eyes followed the man’s pointing finger. The snake like child was not being unpleasant, but truthful. How was some old, probably senile woman supposed to help them? An impending army was soon to rain down. Even if this bag of decaying bones could help, then why wasn’t she aiding before hand. Surely this place was not so far exiled that they did not know of the invasion occurring. It was becoming bothersome to think that a withered hag could possibly save him. The serpent like youth was beginning to feel that he should not have sneaked into that boat almost two weeks ago for a rest. The cart driven by horses would have probably been better.
Allowing a thumb to stroke his temple Kiketsu shook the thought away. What is done can’t be undone. “So what are we going to do? Don’t just stand there. You’re the grown up after all.” the boy stated to the oldest of the group near Uzuki. The pale features of Kiketsu remained unphased and uncaring, but the tone of his voice was beginning to show aggravation.

During the trip over Shin had gotten a pretty good idea of their situation. The village was under some kind attack and they were running away like cowards, a situation that did not bode well with him. The fact that the village was being invaded for a second time was very foreboding and the fact that they were running like wounded dogs just ticked him off. He was more for standing and fight or atleast doing something that would help. And as such he was prone to be miserable, a state of mind that was worsened by the fact that they were still just standing around. Talking over their course of action and thinking of what to do. Shin was pretty sure that the boat man had just told them what needed to be done, talk to the old hag. So as the Kiketsu and the others grumbled about what to do, Shin just walked off towards the group of people. It was not like they had anything better to do or anyother course of action. So he sauntered over to the group without much manners or wits about him. He simply walked over and planted his feet in front of the woman that had been singled out. As some sort of respect was due, or so he guessed, and thus he did a little half-bow before spiting out their situation. "We," motioning to his classmates and parent, "have just come over from the main island. We've been told that you might be able to assist us. Can you help or are we barking up the wrong tree?"

"Piss off!" a particularly unwise little boy shouted at them before everybody else noticed them.
"We're not helping you!" Another shouted and there was a collective nod.
"Yeah, you heard the- wait," Despada began, before glancing beyond Shin and seeing Uzuki, Kiketsu and more importantly Shimura. "You there," she called to him, slowly making her way forward. "Are you a jounin?" Granny's mind was ticking, and the gypsies looked amongst each other sceptically before some also moved forward in case the shinobi tried anything.
"Are you a jounin? Got any jounin friends?" Despada repeated, looking at Shimura directly now. "We can make a deal."
Meanwhile Batou was flitting alternately about the gypsies and Despada (protesting "GRAMMA!" but getting ignored), trying to diffuse the situation and just offer unconditional help on the behalf of the gypsies. But OBVIOUSLY he was having no success at all.

[taking control of Shimura.. <_<]
Shimura glanced at Despada sceptically. These people didn't have the best track record and he wasn't sure on whether he could trust them. And then somewhere on the main island (the housing district?!) something exploded, which reminded him of the urgency of the situation.
"...what is it?" he finally said. Grudgingly.
Despada smiled a true feline smile, all cunning and sly and manipulative, and answered easily, "Help us get rid of the white b***h. That's Mistress to you." There was a slight gasp amongst all the others as she uttered those words, but more people were starting to get interested. It looked like it would be bad for the Main Islanders if they refused now.
Shimura realised that, and nodded. He, too, did not harbour much love for Mistress. That was the fate of an insincere leader for you. "Just say when." Perhaps he was also thinking of what Kiri would be in the future without Mistress. Or maybe he was just trying to save his village.
Despada nodded and, as if having been cued, the gypsies roared. She raised a hand to silence them and turned around. "Those who want to stay can stay," she said authoritatively. "I give only those with training in the arcane arts permission to tag along. Those who stay behind, brew up some healing salves and potions for when we return!" Not exactly the best battle cry, but the gypsies responded in turn, separating into two clear groups: the ones who would fight and the ones who would stay.
Soon they were all on their few boats, making their way across to the shoreline.

The academy student listened as the grown ups conversed. An interesting conversation. To get rid of Mistress... the Kage. The old man also agreed. Betrayal was not something uncommon to even those within a village towards their leader. Maybe the whole invasion was actually a coup d'état in disguise to get rid of the Kiri leader? Kiketsu did not care who won and what happened next. His mind did find it funny and in some way ironic. About a year passed and he has not decided to stay anywhere. When his mind was finally made the decision to stay in Kiri, the same thing happens like last time. Except this time it was not his fault.
The lime eyes stared as some of the elders made their way into the boats to join the battle. The child did not have any training in the arcane so his form stayed behind on the island. His mind was wondering who would win in this battle. In the end it wouldn't matter much. Kiketsu was willing to go with the winning side. The serpent child awaited further orders from someone in command.

Shin was brushed off to the side as these people, these gypsies swarmed Shimura or whatever his name was. They had their little chat, got in their little boats and were off before Shin could voice a proper protest. Its not like he was going to anyway, he could tell when he wasn't wanted.
If only he was older, if only he was stronger, then he would not need their help. He would not need them of force off the invaders or kill the mistress or whatever their true intentions were. It didn't matter because he could participate, he was left to his own inventions.
So invent away he would, starting with some training invention. He still had his trusty bokken and their were plenty of trees around to whack. So he might as well get to it.

Shin stormed off into the underbrush, moving towards and past the treeline. He emmersed himself into the forest as much as he could, to the point that he could no longer see where he had been stranding befoer. In fact he couldn't really see much besides the trees at this point anyway. Which was exactly what he wanted. He raised his bokken high above his head with both hands, turned around to face the closest tree and took a deep breath. Rejuevenating his lungs with the inhale, he exhaled as he brought his wooden sword down on the tree attempting to atleast cleave off some bark.Quote: Bokken Exercises - Post1 DC= 15 | Formula= Roll + Weapon Proficiency(2) Roll = 15 + 2 = 17 (Pass) | Successes = 1

Shin followed through on his swing, ending with the blade positioned to the side of his left hip. He paused there for a moment before lifting his head back to the tree to inspect his damage. He had carved a faint line in the bark, a good sign that his trike had been made well. Not dwelling too long on his first success, Shin pushed his weight forward and flipped his wrist around in preparation to strike. Then without hesistating any longer, he thrust his body forward as he raised his hands back skyward to perfom a rising diagnol slash from left to right. Lets try for two in a row!Quote: Bokken Exercises - Post2 DC= 15 | Formula= Roll + Weapon Proficiency(2) Roll = 11 + 2 = 13 (Fail) | Successes = 1

The second cut was intended to followed a drastically different path than the first, the former cut being made in a more horizontal motion. Yet Shin found himself drawing along the same line, dragging his blade through a rut he had already just seconds before. Obviously he had not the control to resist the movement of his blade away from his desired striking path. It was disappointing to say the least. Not only was his slash along the same path but the rut it cut wasn't even that much deeper.Quote: Bokken Exercises - Post3 DC= 15 | Formula= Roll + Weapon Proficiency(2) Roll = 10 + 2 = 12 (Fail) | Successes = 1

The disappointment was not going to stop Shin though, he had desired to do this. So he backed up a little bit and readied himself, he was going go at another time. And instead of moving on to something easier, he was going to right back to the same manuever. Reading the blade off to his left ride with both hands grasping the hilt, he made a step forward and slashed. His mind was focussed on the goal, his hands focussed to achieve it.Quote: Bokken Exercises - Post4 DC= 15 | Formula= Roll + Weapon Proficiency(2) Roll = 14 + 2 = 16 (Pass) | Successes = 2
