The 'queen' huffed at Papina and rushed on by, grabbing at the torch in Isdra's hands. "We must save what we can! This is important information. We can't just let it burn to ashes!" With her tail, she grabbed at some of the books off the bookshelf that was being 'burned'. The books were a bit heavy for her tail to hold, so Reign turned a bit, grasping at Isdra's arm with her tail and starting to load her arms with some of the books.

The 'king' sputtered as the 'queen' huffed past her, and 'settled' for crossing her arms and leveling a glare at both 'queen' and 'knight'. They were both crazy. No doubt about it. She finally unbent enough to 'order' some 'nearby people' to help make sure everyone was out of the library before attempting to make sure 'he' and the 'queen' were taken to safety. "My queen! We must go before we burn with it!" She made to take Reign's arm (making sure she touched cloth, not fur) and haul her out of 'there'.

Isdra blinked when Reign grabbed her arms and that jumped back and dropped the books when she started to load them on her arm. 'Annoying...' she thought to herself as she stepped back and watched Papina take the 'queen' in a different direction. She simplely followed the 'king.'

Reign frowned at the 'king' and squirmed, trying to free herself. "Here," she told Papina, dumping the armload of books into the other girl's green arms. Then the chimp girl went back to the bookshelf to get more books off the shelves and 'save' them from the 'fire'.

Dr. Smith laughed at the girls and stepped forward. "Well.. The Queen was unable to get into the library to save most of the books. The fire took flame quickly and when it finally went out.. there was nothing left but ashes. What they didn't know, was that there were several Historians deep in the catacombs. What they did, no one knows only their ashes remained. But many many scrolls dissapeared at that time."
He smiled at the girls.

Papina lost hold of Reign's arm at some point, but that didn't really matter compared to what their teacher said. Her eyes got round as she asked, "Really quickly?" She couldn't help but think what would happen to her if she had been in there at the time... well, unsealed in there at the time since she had to be one of those scrolls that got away. "Were we with the scrolls that dissappeared?" How many didn't make it?

Dr. Smith nodded. "At one point, all the scrolls were kept there. No one knows how many existed and so no one knows how many didn't make it. There were a few at least." He shrugged. "We keep the scraps that we find somewhere deep in here."

Isdra blinked at the new development and turned to look at Mr. Dude, completely ignoring Reign and Papina for the moment. "Will we ever be able to help the scraps? I mean, can they ever be released? I mean, it would suck to be sealed up thinking we cou- WAIT... Why did we seal ourselves up? I mean, did we know that we were going to be released? Or did we think we were always going to be sealed? I think I missed the review or whatever that told us what we were and all. What were we? Why were we sealed up? Why don't we remember, Mr. Dude?" Oh gosh... How can she have so many questions?

Seeing how Isdra just about asked every question Reign could think of, the chimp girl just sat back and waited for the answers from Dr. Smith. She wondered how they'd gotten sealed up and how long ago it had been. The play sounded like it was a story from very long ago. How long had they been sealed up as those pieces of paper?

The old man shook his head. "I don't know if anyone can help the scraps. Most are burnt beyond recognition and some even seem to be copies of the burnt scraps. As to all that other stuff. I don't know. You see, after that the Historians went underground. Eventually they... faded away until no one believed there were scrolls with people sealed in them anymore. Until I started researching fairy tales and myths. Only a few years later I met Nara, who had been unsealed. I was the only one who believed her. Everyone else just said she was mixing her myths up. Still.. She's a better person to ask these questions than I am. Why don't you girls go and ask her later?"

Papina nodded at Isdra's questions. She wanted to know too! She tilted her head to one side as their teacher started to answer questions... and blinked. Ask Nara? Her face fell. She didn't get to see Nara all that often - the scroll relic seemed to always be out looking for other scrolls. Maybe the three of them can get together and find Nara sometime.

Asking Nara made sense. After all, who would know better than the only scroll child that was older than them? They would have to ask her later about that kind of stuff. She wondered if Nara even remembered why she was sealed.

"K." Isdra started, leaning against the bookselves and waiting to see what else Mr. Dude did. That kind of bummed her other. She'd really wanted to know. 'Hmph, I guess I'll just have to wait for a while until she's found then.'

Dr. Smith started to launch into another lecture mode, before a glance at the clock stopped him. Had it really been a little over an hour already? Phooey. "Well.. I guess you girls will have to go. Class is over.. Nara's out looking at another possible scroll so you'll have to bug her when she gets back." A half-frightened look darted across his face. "Just don't tell her I told you." Quickly the old man walked the children back to the temple.
