I like the Daemonhunters, the Grey Knights are expensive and hard to play with but i usally just use tons of Storm Troopers.
From Star Wars?...(Has no idea what the hell those are for units.)
Storm troopers are imperial guard special units... I don't have my guardsman codex, so I can't tell you any more?

Storm troopers are given special armor, weapons and training that is meant to make them more effective. They have a 4+ save from their carapace armor, their hell guns are las guns that pierce ork armor (Yay the 6 AP is soo useful) and they have 4 BS and they get that option to depp strike if they are not put into a chimera. Oh and I don't think they can take heavy weapons. I played one game with them and got very sigusted with them. I think points are better put where they belong in an imperial guard army. Buying another couple of squads for you infantry platoon.

Hehe, YES XD I love my Grey Knight terminators

Though I should probably start playing around with some Inquisitor combinations again. Granted the reason I've come to Inquisitor's having a bad name was because the last few fows saw the Inquisitor alone and smooshed him easily within the first few turns. My friend's Daemon Prince came swooping in by the second turn and engaged in close combat with my Inquisitor. My Inquisitor failed his psychic check for hammerhand, then the Daemon Prince instantly crushed him (hooray toughness 3 stare ) and my retinue couldn't touch him, then they ran away like scared little children. Second time I used one aother of my friend's swooped in with his death company by second turn, engaged in close combat, and crushed my Inquisitor easily. This was during my first couple of games so I probably should try different approaches to the Inquisitor. Maybe make him join a squad of GK's (normal, not terms) or something. I just dislike the whole "I'm awesome! I fight awesome in cc... with a toughness and strength of 3 =D"

...

Yeah, sure, you keep telling yourself that Inquisitor.

However the lone Inquisitor and his retinue hype by GW is still an overhype. Alone in combat they suck against practically anything they're said to be able to fight greatly.
And a man can be killed by a hundred hornets. You have to protect your HQ with their retinue/bodygurad Etc for them to come to max potential. Cannon fodder essentially, just to prevent all of the blows from landing on your leader.

Oh okay.

That's all the retinue is good for; it's a meat shield. What do you think Chaos uses cultists for, both in the TT and Dawn of War?

Stormtroopers can't deepstrike.

Can they infiltrate then? I'm pretty sure they get one of those options but unfotunatly I left my codex at a friens room.

No they don't get to infiltrate either. The only special thing about them is getting a transport vehicle.

Stormtroopers can Deep Strike; they have grav-shutes to drop them from ships in orbit. I think. Or that could be just a certain regimental doctrine...Harakoni Warhawks, I think (new codex).

Okay, maybe Imp Guard can have them deep strike, but the Daemonhunters Storm Troopers can not. If they can please point out the exact page number that says so.

gray knights are some of the best troops, but the second most expensive, after bloodletters, but the grey knights are awsome. grand masters are awsome too, but 141 points for an HQ with terminator armor, nemisis force weapon, and storm bolter. i guess they are worth the points.

Ah I think that might have been the problem we were having. I am not all that familiar with the inquisitorial stormtroopers so I guess you may be right. I still think that the stormtroopers are definatly not worth the added cost over the standard IG trooper. I mean the really good thing about the Guard units is their access to cheap long range heavy weapons but the weapons that the sotrm troopers get are strictly short range which means that they can't stop the rhino rush and they can't reliably take down the nasty hand to hand fighters that ever army has which makes them a pretty bad choice in my opinion.

Ohh, I thought you meant I-Guard Storm Troopers. No, you're right, Inquisitorial Stormtroopers can't Deep Strike. They're also meat shields, IMHO, compared to Grey Knights. biggrin

Well anything's a meatshield compared to a Grey Knight. I just picked some Inq. Storm Troopers up as to have a cheaper troops choice. I wouldn't quite underestimate a BS4 squad of 10 guys. Space Marines usually come in that size and the only thing better about their weapons is one more strength. I personally think their choice of weapons aren't that bad either. Sure you gotta get them up closer with some but with that many weapons firing I'd say it's worth it. Plus the added choice of having a chimera on the field is nice. Fitted properly a chimera could do some damage and be a fighting tank other then just a transport. So, yeah, overall it seems Inq. Storm Troopers are worth their points cost.
