User Image Kia's eyes shot open and flashed with pain as she felt the hyena's sharp teeth sink deep into the soft flesh of her shoulder. He had hit his mark in the worst of ways for Kia. The young adult lioness yelped as she felt the burning pain of her newly shaped wound sear down her front leg and along the tip of her back.

Not used to being attacked with such force, Kia toppled over sideways under the weight of his leaping attack. The clay toned female grimaced, furrowing her brows as she jerked her body sideways, forcing herself into a position where she could try to dislodge the hyena from her shoulder.

Twisting about a bit, Kia tried her hardest to thrust her hind paws into the hyena's stomach with all the force she could muster, a desperate look lingering in her eyes. She had to get him to loosen his grip somehow before he caused serious damage.

Kia's clenched eyes cracked open and shot a quick uneasy glance at the pink cheetah nearby. "Run.." she suggested again, her voice hoarser and less chipper than it had been since they first met "...or hide.... something.... please" Kia frowned and continued struggling with the hyena, not certain if Kari would be willing... let alone able to leave Kia to fight alone. The hyena was much stronger than she, she would probably need help in order to fend it off although Kia didn't expect of the sort from the fuzzy pink friend that was so hurting nearby

The dark hyena male let a triumphant snort escape him as his bite landed where intended, and shook his head a bit to cause more damage as he'd done with Kari, but unable to do it as fiercly as to not loose grip.

Then paws pushed up against his belly, and probably would let a painfull yelp, had his mouth not been full of shoulder, and had he not trained himself to ignore pain in battle, and grieve for it later.

He tightened his grip one last time, before moving away so that he was behind the lioness, only to snap fiercly at one of her hind paws. He missed, but seemed to think better, she could curl and get to him if he caught a hind paw, a front one would be a safer targer.

He moved towards the shoulder he'd injured, half cruely, half just-to-get-over-her, he stepped on it, or tried to, to get over her lying form and bite at her fromnt paws, he still wasen't done messing with her yet.

How tempted the cheetah was to do as the lioness requested, to just leave, but watching the hyena dig into Kia's shoulder while Kia twisted around to get him off stopped her. She had to try to fix what she'd done, she had to try to help Kia. Kari danced back and fourth a couple steps as she tried to figure out her best chance, she was never one to fight, she didn't know what to do! Her vision was blurry thanks to her watery eyes, which wasn't helping her.

She limped a couple steps closer, this time not backing up. Her plan so far was to hope he was distracted by stepping over Kia. The ever observant cheetah didn't notice how Tibuka's attacks seemed focussed more at the front of his targets, and did all she could think of- ignoring the burning pain just before her weight shifted to her back legs, she leapt at the hyena, more or less aiming for his tail.

User Image Kia tensed even more as the hyena stayed, clenching his toothy jaws around her shoulder even tighter than before. The lioness growled as the pain increased, the puncture going deeper and drawing blood. The feeling was new to Kia and it scared her. He moved away, not thinking she just lay there for a moment whimpering quietly, her eyes shutting once more. Perhaps he would leave her alone. Please let him leave she thought over and over again.

Unfortunatly he seemed to have only begun for a few moments after he 'left' the hyena was back. Kia could feel the weight of his body fall on the wound in her shoulder, she coiled back, but not fast enough to get away from those deadly teeth again as they clamped again on her front paw. Kia roared in pain as the sensitive padding on her paw was punctured and bled. Her eyes opened again, foggy with salty tears as she spotted a friend creeping up from behind. Kia smiled only very slightly as she looked at the hyena who seemed to be pre occupied with her paw.

Kia stared unskilfully at Kari before drawing her untorn paw back, claws extended and fully ready to summon a final swing at the hyena should her pink friend miss.

Like the hyena had done with Kari, he shook his head, ooking at the lioness' expression to find the ever-so-pleasing fear. He was just about to bite down harder, when he saw her experession change a bit, concentrating on something behind him and smilling ever so lightly. It might be the cheetah walking away, limping, rather, but then why would she smile?

His eyes flashed in annoyance, and he lowered his head quickly, bringing a paw under his chin, and releasing the injured paw, he stomped down on it with his own, spinning around as the cheetah lauched itself, swapping the stepping paw to a hind one.

Now he felt the cheetah crash into his chest and shoulders, and the lioness' free, unharmed paw hit his hindquarters with sharp claws. He held himself back from noting his pain, even though it stung alot, and even a cheetah's dull claws could come as a problem sometime.

He was vaguely aware of how cheetahs hunted, choking their prey by their throat, and now his was exposted, so he immediatly pushed down between the cheetah and his chest, now protecting his throat. He snapped at the cheetahs front, well paw, ears back flat against his skull for protection.

He still had the lioness hurt paw under his own, crushing it down to try and get her to weaken or give an ever-reassuring wail. He could end this soon, but they weren't startled enough yet.

Kari didn't see Kia's gaze shift to her, and when the hyena turned around she took no notice, made no attempt to change- instead just kept going. When she came crashing into his shoulders instead of to his tail, she clung to him as best she could, using her claws to try to hang from his side. His movement to protect his throat and the snapping at her own paws startled her, and combined with the poor effort to hang off of him, she fell to the ground. In an attempt not to waste the effort, she kicked out her back legs with no particular aim, just hoping to hit something.

This wasn't working out so well, but maybe trying to fight back would make it more difficult for him, maybe make him back off. It was naive, but the young cheetah had to believe something, anything other than 'we're going to die!'

User Image Pain shot through her paw as the hyena cruelly slammed it further into the dirt. Kia roared as she felt flecks of dirt embed themselves in the punctures that the hyena's fangs had created, she felt the weight of the hyena smash and further bruise the mottled and bloody topside of her paw. Kia flinched as the pain burned and stung like a roaring fire. Like a burning hatred that was stubborn and relentless.

Kia growled again, low and hurting. Her shoulder was badly hurt and her paw's condition was worsening to become its equal as the seconds ticked by. Kia couldn't stand to swipe at the hyena again. Not laying here like his plaything anyways.

Lowering the paw she used to slash at the hyena she squirmed under his weight, tugging at her paw to try to pull it from under the male's dully clawed feet. Each tug that she forced from her remaining caused her paw to burn even more, to crush and tear under the hyena's weight. Her eyes grew watery as she clenched together her teeth. She had to get her paw back

Ah, so now he didn't have a claw at his butt anymore, good, any longer and sitting down would be oddly unconftarble. He used his free hind leg to step on the injured paws 'arm'as to make sure she woulden't escape, but found that slightly harder, and had to settle for stepping on the bit of the paw that was trying to slip away. He coulden't let her go just yet, or else both of them would be all over him in seconds.

The cheetah's hind paws scored at his cheek, and he snorted, snapping to try and grab it. If succeeded, he'd try and swing the cheetah o the lioness side, or at least in the same direction, for battleing two, even if they were, or onewas, relatively scrarwny, was no good if they both attacked from opposite directions.

Soon he best give his parting words, he woulden't be able to keep the lioness under control for long, and the cheetah could make that process even faster. Though, they obviously woulden't be a nice, friendly 'good-bye, take care'.

Throughout the whole fight, Chuakari barely made a sound. When she was not trying to help she only whined, while she did try to help fend off the hyena no growl was audible. Her fall was one of the quiet moments, even when she felt Tibuka's teeth clamp on it. She winced, but caught only by part of the paw the force of her kick managed to free her just short of being tossed right into Kia. Despite an uncomfortable jerk of the leg and an even more uncomfortable landing, the small cheetah curled around to try to get Tibuka's foot off of Kia's leg. Her mouth was too far away so her teeth were no use, but she had her paws.

She was doing her best to ignore the sounds of Kia growling and roaring, letting it set it would only damage her spirits more.

User Image She squirmed even more violently as he stepped on her paw, but it was proving to be difficult to escape when the most sensitive spots on her paw were injured and now full with grime.

The wind got knocked out of her a little when Kari landed on her, but she only shot Kari a sympathetic look. She felt at fault for all this, she didn't want Kari to get hurt for her mistake, and looking for a hyena was certainly on her mistake list

Feeling at a loss she decided to use the one means of defense that she hadn't tried yet, her teeth. Bending her foreleg so she might be able to reach the hyena's leg she snapped her jaws towards it. If she was lucky she might even cause him to move his leg from her paw by her haphazardly aimed snap and give her leave to run. She still worried about Kari though as she glanced at the cheetah's injured paw. She desperately hoped that she would be able to run also. Kia's paw hurt, but fear of the creature before them would be able to set fire to her motions again

The hyena spun around, shifting froma hindpaw on Kia's own paw to a front one, lifting it as soon as he saw the lioness moving over to bite, her teeth searing down the sides, only just fortunate not to be deep cuts. The cheetah's paws kicked at his other leg.

Now he had them close enough to talk, though, and leaned over to that he was just between in earshot of both of them, though taking a few steps backwards, to remain out of reach.

"Now, I think you two are warned enough, aren't you? " He growled, though his voice betrayed no amusement, it was clear that he was enjoying this fight with the two.

"Stay away from hyenas. " Surely they'd know by now that the graveyard had more hyenas, so that would be enough to keep them away, right? He shot both a warning glare, as if he were saying he did not want to see them again.

He probably would keep on fighting, but that risked him to wounds that could be a problem when hunting, it already being hard enough without others to help, and he woulden't be too good against the linos in the graveyard if he were beat by the ones outside. And for now, these two would be a living warning to others to keep away from the graveyard, or from hyenas, atleast.

With that, he turned and stided off, hiding his pain while in sight of them, not wanting them to see they actually managed to weaken him some, he had to look unhurt, it might make them confident.

(( Yaay tibuka end. <3; ))

(( Thanks a bunch, wooga! <33 ))

When Tibuka backed out of reach, Chuakari reached out to bat at him despite his being out of reach. Her eyes were stinging and clouded with tears, but she did her best not to blink as the blurry Tibuka backed away. Relief flooded through her when the word 'enough' was heard through his growling.

She stayed still until Tibuka was a good distance away, then she rolled herself a couple feet away to give Kia room and to have room for herself. Her relief replaced all adrenaline, amplifying the pain of her cuts and aches and leaving her vulnerable to further attack if Tibuka was not leaving. Kari's mind was not eased in the slightest by this pain.

"I'm sorry, Kia," she whined in a low voice, not wanting to move right yet even though her paw, at least, needed cleaning.

((yuss thanks wooga ^-^))

User Image Kia's largened eyes glimmered as the hyena turned and walked away, she flopped onto her side panting as thier foe walked away. Relief was indeed the sweetest thing.

Her paw and shoulder stung like flames and were still bleeding freely as if they didnt know whether the fight ended or not. After a couple moments panting to herself she leaned over and began licking the dirt out from her paw, thankful that the hyena had not inflicted serious damage.

Her green eyes then turned to her pink friend who was laying a yard or two away. Her ears caught her apology but it only made guilt rise within her.

"No." she said mournfully "It was my stupid idea to begin with" she frowned, leaning her head to rest against the ground.

"Maybe fears are better left alone after all" she blinked staring off into space before glancing back at Kari and her injured paw "You gonna live?" she said bluntly her eyes slightly watering as she felt the pain of her wounds and the hurt how she believed she caused the wounds in another. It was nearly too much to bear

Kari lay tensely on the ground, still refusing to clean her wounds. Only her front paw really had much damage done to it, though her other paw that had been used to fling her onto Kia was scratched. The cuts on it were not nearly as bad as those on her front paw. She made a low whining sound, too childish to be able to handle the situation any other way, really.

"No, no, no!" she cried, squeezing her eyes shut, "I lied, Kia. I've never met a hyena before, I shouldn't have lied. I just wanted you to like me, you were so excited when I said I did.."

She finally drew her paws in, resting her nose on the wounded paw instead of cleaning it right away. Her nose now had nearly-dried clumps of blood on it, making the wound bleed once again.

"Yes," she murmured, opening her eyes and staring at the grass and her paw, "I'll live."

User Image Kia nodded slowly in response to Kari's words, feeling relief that she wasn't the only one at some sort of fault in this mess, but she wasn't upset at the girl. Kia felt calm and collected, she was just thankful to escape the confrontation with her life. The blood on her paw and the gash on her shoulder was well worth the lesson she learned that day.

Remaining silent she lay in the grass for a few moments longer, just breathing the air and enjoying the day. Her gaze resting on the cracked and blleding wound on Kari's paw however, she forced herself to raise to her fours.

"What do you say we go find some water to clean that in" she said with a warm smile, the cool of the water may help extinguish the burn that thier wounds caused. Kia didn't care that Kari lied, all that she cared about was that they were both alright.... hurting, but ultimately fine.

"You can lean on me" she said with a grin, bobbing her head towards Kari's injured paw before looking in the direction that she knew a watering hole was.
